Interesting changes in my diet..

I've never eaten too many carbs..dislike sweets pretty much, don't do soda, white carbs aren't my thing. do like the rest, but have always limited them a lot. Oddly, my nutritionalist (I see her for diabetes management advice) now has me on 30 to 45 grams of carbs with each meal, 15 to 30 grams per each snack..three snacks a day. Meanwhile, I am monitoring my blood sugarand it's amazingly stable, and my wt. has actually come down 2 lbs in 2 weeks. Shaking my head here. Compared to what I was eating, that's a huge amount of carbs..and it seems I am eating all the time. Go figure..

    It lends credence to the theory that everyone's body responds in a different way to different nutrients. I do think the eating more often does have a positive effect on the metabolism. Glad you are doing well, Bridie.

to shopping for meals, planning meals, counting carb grams, eating three meals a day and three snacks whether hungry or not, pricking my fingers, walking, gym time..doesn't leave much time for anything else actually. Perhaps it will all streamline when diabetes and I become better acquainted and there will be time and space for other more interesting things again? This is necessary, yes, but it is also a bore. I hate regimentation..I am right brained. AARGH!

Answers falling into place. I begin nutritional consults on monday as a brand new type 2 diabetic. Hoping to keep this in line with further wt. loss, increased exercise, and diet tweaking. Dunno..already do not eat sweets, seldom drink, don't eat prepared stuff or take out, do eat whole grains, etc. I'm sure there's room for improvement 'tho..isn't there always if we're honest? Meanwhile, b/p is now stable. Time will tell.

Not at peak right now..blood pressure inexplicably way up there again, new meds aren't touching it. Still doing exercise, but milder until we figure this out. I so resent being hampered, or even thinking of myself as not a perfectly well person. Luckier than many 'tho i know..

and that feels good as far as it goes. it cannot do the job alone 'tho, and i am really having trouble recommitting to healthy eating since our move. I need to just do it..

    Several things are factoring into my recent weight gain but, I too, am having an issue with too much of a "good thing" when it comes to food. Too many weekends out of town and/or parties. It's time for me to recommit to logging my food AND my fitness. If I SEE it, I might just CHANGE it.
