Better Oats Revolution

Lately I have been adding a lot of recipes to my personal website, mainly the ones that I have kept around waiting to be put up but I didn't find the time to do so. Check it out, there are a lot of healthy fresh fruit and vegetable recipes that are so inexpensive right now in USA to make at home. Cheap and healthy, isn't that great!!! (

The husband and I were gone on a trip to VA last week and we found a few good things and places to go. One thing that I have fallen in love with for trips is Better Oats. It is a prepackaged (I know, gasp!) of oatmeal that contains things such as flaxseeds, barley and so on. It's not just flatten oatmeal that is so common today. Plus, there is almost no sugar in the ones I purchased. I got the Raw variety and also the Apples and cinnamon. Thought everyone might want to check it out since they are wonderful for people on the go.

I've also been working out hard. I'm on a training plan right now that I'm trying to keep to for a half marathon again this fall. I am doing 4,4,6,4,4,6 miles a day right now. Six days of running and then one day of rest. I'm loving it but I have seen an increase in my appetite and also my weight. emoticon

    I just love love oatmeal, even plain. I even bought in bulk from Costco just for myself, lol. I've seen the Better Oats in stores, I'll have to give it a try!

It's been awhile since I've visited your food blog, your recipes look amazing.

It's a good thing you're young. There is no way I could run 6 days a week and not get injured.

    The increase in your appetite is probably due to the new expenditure of calories with your training...and...the weight could be muscle building as it weighs more than fat.

Yesterday I had to laugh because my husband brought me home a bouquet of Swiss Chard instead of flowers. Isn't that cute? I love Swiss Chard and dislike flowers (unless it's in a plant pot). What's better than a bouquet of Veggies? Healthy and sweet.

It was a good day for me because I managed to get a lot of work done without too much distraction. My husband and I managed to get some of the housework done and also do the groceries. We have a house guest coming today (Friday) so we had to get groceries otherwise we would have to starve them. haha

Unfortunately I did not get to the gym but that's okay. I'm trying to learn that exercise is important but it can't take over my life. One day isn't going to ruin anything. It's something I'm working on = don't worry over one lost day. Does anyone else have this problem?

Tuesday x2 Workouts

Doing great on my weekly workouts. I'm trying to do some sort of workout every day this week. This isn't something so bizarre for me but it's a little goal that I know I can succeed at right now. Don't you love making goals that you know you can succeed at?

I wrote about my workout and what I ate on my blog:

Additionally I added a few healthy vegan recipes (not just for vegans). For instance I put up Lemon Blueberry Scones and today I'm putting up Pea Burgers! Yum!

How is everyone doing on their goals this week?

Today I'm trying to get back into the start of things again. It's difficult jumping back into things again but I know it's necessary to count calories for a while. Last week was very difficult (
5/animal-shelter-theft/) so I let my emotions get ahead of everything else going on in my life. But, I know through the last two years I have to fight against the outside world and use my workout to reduce stress.

There is just something about sunshine that makes a person want to get out there and do a little more of a workout than is really needed. But then again can we really exercise too much? I took to the gym today and worked out for about 2 hours. I got home ate some dark vegan chocolate (I have hypoglycemia- aka low blood sugar levels) and was ready for more. Maybe I can get my husband out there again to have some fun tonight. Love the sunshine!

4 mile run
1 mile walk
5 mile bike
20 minutes weight lifting
30 situps
