Heat induced migraine

Wow! Heat Index stated 96F yesterday! That is insane! Normally I would love it however I had a migraine so the heat was nothing to be rejoicing over. I believe the pressure and heat made my migraine since normally I do not get them. My body is still not used to the change seeing that it is warm one day and cold the next. Very confusing Mother Nature!

I'm thankful my headache is getting better and that I'm able to move around again without getting sick. Hooray!

Last night I was feeling better and made dinner for the husband. It was a traditional Japanese Soba dinner - made with vegan sauce instead of original one. Note: I just reuse the original non-vegan bottle with my own homemade sauce.

    thank goodness we are passed that point down here but our temperature again at 99 degrees hot and humid don't want to know heat index

Hair Issues + Running

Finally!! Thank you Mother Nature! We have good weather again. Well, we were able to run 5 miles last night outside before the tornado sirens went off and the hail came. But, I consider it a good day when I can run outside and then enjoy the rain at night. It's all about getting outside for a few hours isn't it? Okay, so maybe that's just me. haha

I've come to a problem though that maybe you guys can help me with... my hair while running. It seems my long hair is making a mess of itself while I run. As I sweat (yeah, I know, so 'un-ladylike'), my hair gets damp and then tangles itself into a nasty mess. I've tried to put it up in a librarian inspired bun but it is heavy and can't seem to stay up past the first two miles. Then when I get home, I'm so irritated with it. My hair dresser suggested not washing it every time I work out but put an all-natural, chemical free leave-in conditioner on the ends when I get back.

I'd really like to solve this issue though because the ends are getting weak and starting to not look as healthy as it normally does. I'm not doing all this exercise to look good, all to have nappy hair in the end. LOL

Suggestions? Do you wear your hair in a special way? Method for keeping your hair nice after a run without washing everyday?

Breakfast attempt the other day: Oatmeal in an almost empty peanut butter jar... oops, it melted and wasn't that great...

    When I had long hair, I twisted it into this ccrazy bun that wouldn't fall out at all. You pull your hair through once, then half way the second time, and the scopp up the hair (the loop and loose ends) and secure them with the last loop of the band. Best way I can explain it. Haha. Comes out like a messy bun!

    Yup- Two braids. Pipi Longstocking Style. Or low pigtails. I have really fine hair so I definitely have this problem as well, plus mine gets to heavy to wear in a bun. Yikes! emoticon

    I have very long, curly hair. What works for me is braiding it. I put it in a pony tail, then braid the "tail" and secure the end with another elastic.

Also, I only wash it 2x per week. The other days I just rinse, or use conditioner if it's getting a little tangled. Once a week, I use a deep conditioner.

    I can't help you hairwise. I do wash mine after I exercise and right now it's pretty short. When I had long hair, I just wore it in a pony tail.

  I'm sorry I'm not a runner and haven't a clue what to do with your hair. It sounds like it is very long. Have you tried braids?

Today was an okay day with food and exercise. We had another day of sever thunderstorms that seemed to circle around us the entire day in and out. But, managed to get some things in for the day. Hooray! This weekend we are supposed to get about one day of nice weather - praying we really do get it!
