Things have been a slight bit crazy this last week. As I was on a small date I setup with my husband, I was kindly told that my in-laws were going to be visiting. Yep, in three days! Yikes! Normally I would be thrilled with visitors however my mother in law has a bit of an OCD prob (okay, maybe a large issue) and it isn't under control. She is very judgmental and isn't shy to tell you your faults - especially with household chores. Now, I keep a clean house but then there are things that I tend to overlook at times such as dust in the tiniest place and I have not taken hours to think about where I want to "properly" place my house plants for the winter months. Oops! So, I took all Friday off from work to get ready for their arrival. Thankfully I got the house clean from top to bottom (only a few complaints). Boy was I tired!!!
As a special treat (boy I know I have changed when I say this but...), I went to the gym. I'm not sure if it was the exercise that I was needing or just to let off some steam to be able to keep my "cool" when the in-laws came in the evening on Friday. I went to run on Friday but the gym was under construction a bit (no television - gasp!) and the heat was turned way too high! I ran for a mile and once I started to feel a bit dizzy, I turned to walking. It was just too hot in there! I'm guessing that is the reason why no one else was in the gym. haha
So, I managed to keep calm on Friday and Saturday during our surprise visit/inspection. I even managed to stay calm after I spent an hour making Blueberry Crumb Muffins (Healthy Vegan Version) for Saturday breakfast and the in-laws (before testing or even look at them) asked to go to a local bakery to pick up some items to eat.
Saturday we then spend the entire time relaxing after they were gone. Sunday, we sat around chatting, drinking coffee and then did a little clothes/television shopping. I bought clothes for myself and a television for the hubster. Both of us were happy... I was especially happy when I fit into some Gap 2A jeans. Anyone know what "A" at Gap means?
Monday we also had off for Presidents' Day. Love Bank Holidays! We sat around doing basically nothing! Isn't that the best thing to do? We did manage to play some wii fit and wii sports. In addition, I did manage to get the laundry done and also do some yoga.
