Yellowfin Tuna Bento

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Generally I eat a salad with feta cheese for lunch however my husband is a hungry man (although you wouldn't know it from looking at his thin figure). Here is a healthy bento that I made for him today. It has traditional Japanese omelets, green tea brown rice with black sesame seeds, traditional Japanese sesame seed spinach, and a few edamame. It is a very healthy lunch, size proportion is the key to success!

Yoga Workout That's Worth It!

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

When I do yoga I generally do not feel that much afterward so I tend to not even put the time into the fitness tracker. Today I came across a wonderful 46 minute video for fitness yoga infusion. It is a combination of yoga and also exercise. I was actually sweating, not a normal thing when doing yoga. It is not intense however your wrists will hurt slightly at the end of the first 30 minutes. I highly suggest it to anyone looking for a little yoga fun while getting a workout! www.exercisetv.tv/watchvideo.aspx?id

Getting Bored with Daily Routine

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

The last few days I have lost interest in the exercising that I have been doing for a few months now. I started doing 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels, which I love! Unfortunately after watching the videos each and everyday, I have memorized all the things that Jillian says in it. So after not getting motivated to work intensively the last few days, I have decided to again mix things up again. I'm taking a few days of the circuit training and trying something new! I found a wonderful website that I wanted to share with everyone that is free! It has different types of exercise videos that you can stream online for free (or purchase if you want to download). It has everything from yoga to dance! So much fun! I just wanted to share with everyone, since I'm sure I'm not the only one getting bored with the same home routines. emoticon

I've memorized my Leslie Sansone tapes, but I usually make different faces and respond to some of her remarks with my own funny comments. Surprisingly I haven't gotten tired of them and it's been about a year and a half. The website sounds really cool too! Have fun!

Easter/Passover Celebration First

Monday, April 13, 2009

So, normally my family gets together on Easter and devours unhealthy choices that are full of fat, cholesterol, sodium and calories. This year my husband and I decided to take things more traditional this year and pick out foods that Jesus would have had before he was killed on the cross. We felt these were the types of food that people would have eaten (if they could eat anything through their amazement and excitement) on the day that Jesus was resurrected. We chose healthy almonds, dates, figs, goat cheese and so on to make our celebration feast. This worked better than we could have imagined! Since it was Easter, we did have red wine (which yes doctors do say is good for the heart) and also a small slice of homemade Caramel Pumpkin Pecan Pie. Our festivities were a hit! This morning I was actually pleased with myself for choosing better selections this year, although there was still pie. I found that when I jumped onto the weight scale I had lost one pound! One pound down and I still had pie! emoticon

congratualtions and I lost a pound too. We had some small treats but ate mostly healthy all of us and noone felt deprived it was so joyful and god centered not junk-food centered. I love the fact that I did not wake up with sham , regret or the scale up. No junk tastes as good as honering god and being a good role model to our children!!! God bless you and i celebrate with you!

Sausages that are Healthy Alternatives!

Monday, April 13, 2009

BBQ season (barbie for Aussie's) is coming around the corner and that means eating foods that aren't necessarily healthy choices. My husband and I found Trader Joe's Chicken Sausage Links a week ago and now we love them grilled. They are pork free, gluten free, sausage casing free, and 100% delicious! The packaging states that these little delicious links are 70% less fat than USDA data for cooked pork sausage! All the ingredients are natural and there are no preservatives that people need to worry about in general. Normally we eat our sausages in buns however we have found that they links are wonderful plain. I highly suggest trying this wonderful chicken sausage links. We just tried the latest Sun-Dried Tomato Sausage Links. emoticon
