Morning everyone! It is gorgeous outside my window - full of sunshine and warm tidings! I'm officially calling it the start of spring, since it is beautiful outside and the birds are singing! I just want to open up the windows and let the air come in - unfortunately it's only 30 degrees outside. haha Maybe I will wait...
Along with spring, I am feeling the need for fresh fruits and veggies. My body always seems to tell me that it's time for the farmers market to come back to town around this time of the year. Hopefully some of you also get this feeling too! Since it is a new month, I decided that I was going to go along with a 21 days of veganism for fun and health purposes! There are so many wonderful benefits of going vegan!
Yes, I'm practically vegan already however I am more or less a flexitarian right now. So if you are still with me throughout my babbling, I found this wonderful website that was created by "Neal Barnard, M.D., one of America’s leading health advocates". He has a wonderful website that is for a 21 day Vegan kickstart program. He mentions that by taking on this challenge you are "trim excess weight, prevent diabetes, cut cholesterol, lower blood pressure, prevent and reverse heart disease, and reduce cancer risk. They even trim our carbon footprint." Hello, doesn't all of that sound perfect! Even if it's only for 21 days - why would anyone say no? The website has weekly grocery lists and also a menu plan that you just print off and follow throughout the week. That means no planning!!!! It's perfect! Plus it has webcasts, celebrity tips daily, eating out guides, daily message and so much more. It is like going to a dietitian but not paying for one!
I'm really excited about trying out the 21 day vegan kickstart program! Even if you are not wishing to be vegan, take the challenge and see how you feel at the end. You will be amazed at how easy it is and how much healthier you feel afterwards! Plus, hello, no planning on what you are going to eat and so on. Just follow the plan and keep motivated along the way.

Please note that you have to print off the free recipes and menu plan by Saturday for the first week. The next week will be posted on Saturday.
