Crazy Times!

I was going to get surgery for my knee, with cameras to see all the damage in my knees. But I went to a dance workshop, and my so-called cystic acne bup, turned into a boil like MRSA.

I have to wait until it heals all the way to have knee surgery. I am taking it slow with exercise.

I have found I need more walki8ng to lose weight So I got one good piece of the puzzle for me.

Well the journal doesn't help so much with food but navigating my feeling and making notes lol.

The sparkpeople app is much easier and convenient for adding in fitness, weight, food, etc.

unfortunatley my kidz deleted it while I was sleeping and am having a hard time getting it back on.

Will be working on that today.

And I'm still learning on what to do and what not to do to NOT activate my knee pain.

    I love the trackers and blog every other month or so . . . usually when a challenge asks us to. Journaling is a great technique in gathering our thoughts in so many areas of life. I think I just have trouble making too much public.

super stressed

My husband left on a 9 day trip vacation. Since he left, my eldest child (son) with autism ran away three times and am in the process of trying to childproof the house and find better ways of preventing him from doing this.

Its soo hard because he ONLY does this with me. soooooo hard.

I'm so stressed. Plus I'm sick and am waiting for my medicaid renewal to go through before I can get on anti-biotics. And I have knee pain. It hurts really bad from time to time and I can't run after him.

I am so stressed I don't know what to do.

    there is no in-home health other than respite/day hab helpers. BUT, we are having a REALLY hard time finding a worker for him. He really needs more than 1x a week but we've having a hard time finding that for him.

But afterwards, when I told him "no running" he said "sorry" he has a hard time saying a few words, so it was sort of cute seeing him say sorry with his sad face on lol.

but yes because I'm the only one he doesn't listen to I'm going to be getting some more window locks, a better refirgerator and freezer lock as swell as harness that attaches in the back for him and see how that goes.

    I think some states offer in-home help for children with autism. Is there a doctor or other health professional you can ask about this?

a new experiment

I am trying a new experiment.

Whenever I get under 235, I sabotage myself.

I am going to ONLY weight myself once a week, on friday.

And because I get too obsessive with numbers, I have decided to record my food in a journal. Seeing all the numbers just isn't good for my sanity.

And also, dancing to two songs. Right now with my knee pain, dancing to any more than 2 songs puts my knee into lots and lots and lots of pain.

    It takes a wise person tries something new. You can do this. For me, I think I should rid the house of foods that I go to when I'm in a mood to sabotage myself. I've always felt good about picking one or two filling foods to make my "go-to" meal when I'm feeling hungry (even when I'm not). Fixing a bowl of oatmeal with a little fruit has done wonderfully in the past. It's time to end the sabotage! Yay! Hug, hug -- Evelyn

    Wishing you success. Sometimes when you plateau, or you "sabotage" yourself, you just need to change things up to get them kick started again.

so many pains

I am having knee pain and stomach pains right now.

I started physical therapy. Then the pt thinks I may have torn my meniscus and injured my ligament in my left knee.

The doctor at an urgent care clinic thinks i may have irritable bowel syndrome and to take citrucel to bind up the liquids. ughhhh.

But I get an appt on Monday with my regular dr. and see what she says.

Am having a hard time eating JUST protein and carbs and no veggies (hurts my tummy soooo bad).

And having a hard time motivating myself to do upper body exercises. arghhhh.

    Hi, emoticon I hope you don't mind, but I was also having lots of stomach problems. I found out that I was allergic or sensitive to so many foods. It has taken my 6 months but I finally do not have any stomach pains. I had to give up all grains (Only can eat Buckwheat), rice, potatoes (can eat yams or sweet potatoes), eggs, all dairy (can have almond milk or coconut milk), corn. Its not so bad it take time to get used to eating but boy do I have the energy. Since January I have lost 27 lbs and I eat 1200 to 1500 calories plus more when I exercise. I am seeing a nutritional wellness doctor and eat whole foods. Hope you find this useful. Don't get discourage you are so worth the fight. emoticon Have a great day. emoticon

Sometimes people try the craziest "diet" ideas (remember the cabbage soup diet and the Twinkie diet?) and don't realize that it can actually harm them - I just wanted to make sure that you weren't going down that road!

    the doctor at the urgent care center told me to take veggies out of my diet until my stomach cleared out.

but I just couldn't do it. it makes me feel so gross. I so i fried up some sweet potatoes and okra for breakfast and eggs on top with salsa. i feel sooooooooo much better. and my cravings for sweets are starting to decrease (tiny bit),

    Hope you feel better soon, but I do have some pointed questions for you.

Oh my, why would you only be eating protein and carbs and no veggies? The only decent carbs are packed in with vegetables. If you're eating grains and legumes you're asking for intestinal disaster. And what about your essential fats? Where are you getting your vital nutrients from?

I'm going to be blunt. If you're not on a doctor-prescribed diet, how much research have you done about what you're eating? I would strongly recommend two books: Wheat Belly and Grain Brain. (Yes, they're silly titles, but they're dead-serious science.)

IBS, GERD, and many other gastro-intestinal ailments are certainly treatable with diet, but you have to really know what you're doing and keep your doctor in the loop.
