Late 'Winter' Storm

It's really been crazy weather today but we didn't get hit very hard in our area. Other places got a lot of damage: power outages, trees down, ferry crossings cancelled, even a tornado near Moses Lake in Eastern WA /we got some pretty strong winds go through around 6 pm. This is supposed to continue through the night.

I went to the movie in the media room this evening. It was a very strange one and I hope I don't have nightmares. LOL

Another Busy Day

Judy stopped by this morning to tell me Kay was back from her vacation so we went to her mom's apartment to help her clear things out. I got a lot of dishes to give to people here who need them. We threw the pots and pans away, they were so gross. Judy has the key now so that Shirley can get the rocking chair and end table as soon as she comes back from her daughter's. I hauled out three huge bags of garbage and that about did me in. I ran all the dishes through my dishwasher, took two loads to wash them all. I don't know what all Judy took but it doesn't matter. Kay's mom has gone to assisted living so doesn't need any dishes because her meals are provided for her. They found a home for her dog because she can't take care of her anymore.

It's late and I'm off to bed shortly.

Overcast Day

Well, the day began overcast and sprinkles and the sun never came out. My sinus's were giving me fits this morning. I was going to take Suzanne and Jeanette to look at another apartment complex this morning but I didn't feel like it. We just thought we would go take a look so we'll appreciate where we live. I am so spoiled because I have a window over my kitchen sink because I have a corner apartment, plus I have five other windows. Most other apartments here have 2 or 3 windows, one of which is a sliding glass door to the balcony. I also have a two bedroom. I doubt I could live in a little box and stay sane.

I lost a half inch on my waist and half inch on my hips. The jeans I tried to zip last week now fit. I don't weigh any less but I don't care, it's just how my clothes fit that I worry about.

  

More Tomato Plants

I went to the plant half price sale and brought home two more tomato plants, called Siberia. They grow well in cold weather down to 38` so I should get some to ripen this year. I get sun on the balcony early morning and late afternoon.

It never did rain here today like they said it would. Oh well, I'll take what we get.

Tomato Plants

I went to the plant sale today and got three tomato plants for my balcony garden. I'm supposed to have a crop in 70 days. We shall see. My parsley is still growing from last summer. I didn't know it would survive the harsh winter we had.

It was a really nice day. I met the owner of a health food restaurant inside the local Gym and she invited me to do a little volunteering there to see if I like it. She is going to hire a chef in a couple weeks and is thinking of putting in a salad bar and she wants me to take care of it. I have always worked in the food business and I was in charge of the salad bar at the local college for about five years so who know's what might happen? It's really something for me to think about and I can earn some extra money. I am tired a lazing around all the time.
