Well I went to help Kay pack up the kitchen this morning but she never showed up. I guess she won't be back for the rest of the things because she is leaving on the train tomorrow for a two day trip to Michigan to visit her daughter and grandchildren. Her mother won't get back the cleaning deposit. The place is a pig sty. We can tell her caregiver didn't do anything. Cathy wasn't able because she had a small stroke and has no memory anymore. Sad situation.

I decided to go to the store and stopped by Romona's to see if she needed anything and she did. She is still on a soft diet so I got her several cans of cream soups and banana's.
Then I made her lunch and got her mailbox key to pick up her mail and took another walk to see if Kay showed up yet. No luck. But found some ladies in the lounge and visited with them for a while, then took Romona's mail to her. By that time she wanted me to make her some dinner. I started it and Judy showed up so I let her finish it. I made egg salad for her lunch tomorrow. In the morning I'll make her tapioca pudding using her artificial sweetener. It's really hard to cook in someone else's kitchen. She doesn't have much in the way of pots and pans because she lost everything in the flood a couple years ago.

My goodness, the people in your life seem to have more problems than anyone should have to deal with. And it seems they don't deal with them -- YOU DO! It's Friday Already

This week just flew by, I guess because I have been keeping busy helping Kay pack up her mother's apartment, at least as much as she will let me. Bobbie and I are going to meet her at 9 in the morning to pack up the dishes that Cathy won't be taking with her. She won't be doing any cooking as all her meals will be provided. Nancy on the first floor bought her exercise bike so I got two of the men here to deliver it to her. Nancy is recovering from a broken arm and shoulder plus she recently fell in the bathroom and cracked her spine. They had to fuse it so she needs to exercise as much as she can manage.

It stayed cloudy all day but it didn't rain.

I don't think wants to be here yet because the weather can't make up it's mind about what to do. The sun is out now for it's final burst before dark falls. It has rained on an off all day long.

My Spring Cleaning is all finished and I like the way my apartment looks now, more open since I rearranged the living room.

A lady on the 2nd floor is moving out because she has altheimer's and is all mixed up. She is moving to assisted care over by the hospital. Her daughter is having a sale to clear out a lot of stuff that she doesn't have room for. I bought a little xpress Redi Set GO cooker that you see on Tv that sells for $50 for $10. It has never been used. I didn't really need it because I have a similar one. Just trying to help them out. I'm going to cook some chicken pieces in it instead of turning on the oven.

Judy Got Her Wires Crossed

Judy knocked on my door this morning needing a ride to the dentist because she couldn't find Myrna to borrow her car. I wasn't dressed so by the time I threw on some clothes and we got to the dentist's office they said she was 15 minutes late so they couldn't see her. I had dropped her off and gone to the grocery store down the street so she had to stand there and wait 45 minutes for me to pick her up. Now she has to wait two more weeks to get her teeth cleaned. Maybe next time she will plan ahead and make sure she can get there on time. She took me out for lunch and I had a chicken burger and homemade french fries. What a treat!! I can't be good all the time.

Romona's doing all right but she can't eat any solid foods until Friday plus her mouth is full of canker sores from all the antibiotics so she can't wear her teeth so it's soft foods for her. I made her some cream of chicken soup and a sliced banana for lunch while her caregiver was grocery shopping for her. On top of the diverticulitis she has gall stones but it is the former problem giving her all the trouble. Now she has to give away her popcorn. She is still pretty weak but she will call if she needs something.

We had a strange mix of weather today with winds, rain and hail. Now the sun is out.

I didn't get a blister from my burns. The frozen lima beans worked wonders. There is just a vague mark on the top of my middle finger.

Romona is Home From the Hospital

I got a call from Jeanette down the hall a little while ago and she said the hospital sent Romona home with no one lined up to take care of her. She does have a cousin who lives downstairs but she has a husband confined to a wheelchair most ot the time so she can't leave him. Judy, from down the hall is a retired RN so she is there taking care of her until someone from the family can come and help her. Romona is diabetic and so is Judy so she knows what to do. It's a big mess,

I burned two of my fingers on my toaster oven so I am holding a bag of frozen lima beans on them. I don' t think they will blister. That'swhat I get for baking some french fries. LOL
