More Rain all Week

Monday, April 05, 2010

It's not going to clear up until the weekend with another storm moving through Thursday. Then it should start warming up.

The afghan I started the other day shrank significantly this afternoon when I ripped it all out. It was too crooked at the end of the rows and I thought I could somehow straighten it out but after really looking at it, I decided it was a lost cause. Practice makes perfect!! I guess I forgot the part about counting the stitches periodically. I also changed sone of the colors.

I know how you feel with the rain. It was like that for weeks here. It will pass and spring is here!

Solitary Day

Sunday, April 04, 2010

Nothing going on around here. I went to see if the ladies were in the craft room earlier but it was vacant. Judy is showing a movie but it's not one that I want to see--besides I don't like sitting in the tv room. I like to crochet while I watch tv but it is dark in there. I don't sit still very long anyway. So I'm watching the Hallmark channed. The social room has been reserved for a private party all day so we can't go in there until after 4 today.

My afghan that I started the other day is about a quarter of the way finished. I am using yarn that I have on hand.

My scale said I lost a half pound so that's a good thing.

Afghan

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Well, I finished my afghan this afternoon and took a picture of it. Now to figure out how to get it posted on my page. It can't be that difficult.

We didn't get much rain today but 50 miles north of us they are getting slammed. It is kinda chilly outside tho.

Difficulty Posting Blog

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

I've been trying to post a blog all afternoon but couldn't get it to open. As a last resort I went back to my Spark page and clicked on Blogs and it opened so I can post . Go figure............

It has been raining the last three days and I don't know when it will end. So far no floods, knock on wood. I'm glad I went grocery shopping before this started because I hate packing in groceries in the rain. I've had to turn the heat on because it feels damp in here.

My afghan is mostly finished. Just have to weave in the loose ends, just one side left to do. Then I'm going to make another one in pink and white or ecru. It depends on how much of each color I have on hand because I don't want to buy any. I need to use up what I have.

Stormy Sunday

Monday, March 29, 2010

Well, the rain came back and is supposed to stick around the next week and a half. A big wind storm will blow through tonight although I think the strongest winds will be in the mountains.

My afghan is as long as it is going to be because I ran out of the multi-colored yarn and can't find anymore. Luckily I ran out right where I could end the afghan so the pattern is balanced on the top and bottom. So it can be a lap rug. I just have to tie up the lose ends and that will take a while because there are a couple hundred at least that I have to weave in. If I cut the ends it will unravel.

I went to Walmart and Michael's Crafts looking for yarn but no telling how old the yarn is that Cindy gave to me that I used in the afghan. I didn't think of going to KMart until just now. They are just down the road from Walmart. I did some grocery shopping so that is out of the way. I think it will rain harder tomorrow so I don't have to get soaked shopping.

I can't post a new blog because I can't get the page to open so I made a journal entry instead but don't get Spark points for that.

Such is life.

We're having a rain storm here too with Thunder and Lightning. It started yesterday afternoon, went through the night and is supposed to last all day. I'm doing a Walmart run today and will probably get wet but I don't want to stay inside on this grey day. Glad you finished your afghan. What are you going to make next?
