Things are looking up!

Yesterday I was discouraged at the 2 lbs I lost last week. Today I decided to measure my waist and hips and lost 1" off my waist and 2" off my hips!!! That's more exciting than the actual weight loss.
I thank all who encouraged me yesterday. That kind of support is what I was hoping for when I signed up on SparkPeople. I wasn't sure I would be noticed on such a large site, and am so thankful for you guys today! The Lord brings those into my life whom I need to hear from each day! Yay for you guys!!!!

    a healthy number to loose a week is 1 to 2 pounds. Those higher numbers are not safe and people don't always stick to those plans since they are being way to restrictive usually. 2 pounds is great!

    Congrats on the inches lost and a 2 lb. loss for a week is great! You can't expect to lose weight like they do on TV, that's just not reality. A loss is always a good thing, so pat yourself on the back!

Off to a Slow Start :(

Went to check up with Lydia, my dietitian. I'm not excited about the lack of weight I've lost. 2 lbs for the week. I've busted butt this week and really expected more. For a gigantic fatty, I should be able to drop at least some water weight to change the scale. I know I am feeling better and that I'm doing the healthy thing for my body. It's just very hard to restrain myself and have discipline when there's not an immediate reward. Instant gratification is what got me in this mess, so I need to learn the opposite....to wait, hold steady, be consistent, and patient.

    You guys are awesome! This is just what I needed to be more motivated. After reading your comments I took my kids on a bike ride to keep up the momentum. More importantly, I DIDN'T PIG OUT like I would've normally. I have the mindset that if I don't lose weight while I'm doing healthy activities, i may as well eat whatever I want and not be left in wanting. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT guys!     That's 8 sticks of butter off of your body! Every time I think I just lost 1lb of fat, I pull out the sticks of butter! Even a quarter of a lb. is 1 stick of butter off of your butt! ha ha! You are doing great!

Well, today I finally figured out what the heck a blog is and how to use it. Hello, 1982 called and wants me back. I'm sure that most every other living breathing American knows what and how to blog. So I'm totally proud of myself for joining the rest of the country in blogging.
