Phrases I'm phasing out or I'm saying less of

Saturday, April 17, 2010

I'm too tired....I'm exhausted......Why me?......I don't feel well......What now?.....I can't.....
These are just a few phases to start with which can be added to along lifes journey.

'It's not fair' is one I sometimes think- although I don't say it so much now I'm older. And I don't even think it as often as I used to.
The other day I thought 'Shall I have a rest or go for a run?' That really took me by surprise! Running as a way of relaxing? Sparking can do strange and interesting things to your thought processes!

How about "but I don't WANNA"? (This is frequently used by kids, but on occasion I've heard an adult utterance - now that's really pathetic!)

Glad the old phrases are leaving. I find myself saying, "Come on, you can do this." At first it was to "pull" myself through something difficult but now I see it as a statement of accumulated accomplishments as well. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Sunset walk

Thursday, April 08, 2010

Today has been a beautiful sunny day, lovely and warm but busy helping my Mum shopping after I had finished work. How was I going to fit in a walk?
On driving back from my Mums decided I would go for a walk however tired I felt, after all Sparky ( my virtual dog) needed a walk.
My efforts were soon rewarded by seeing a beautiful sunset which I would of missed had I just collapsed in the chair!

Heart happy.........

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

Keeping my heart happy I went for a 30 minute walk, I took my virtual dog with me too!
Having read about virtual skipping ropes gave me the idea...
My dog is called Sparky he is very bright, he is friendly and doesn't get into fights with other dogs and come rain or shine likes at least 30 minutes walking a day!!

Love the virtual dog concept, but I'll stick with my Pug Phoebe!

Love the virtual dog idea. I couldn't trade in my real dog partner though. She is my walking buddy.

Vision collage.....working!

Tuesday, April 06, 2010

Today when I was at work on my way out of the hospital I decided to pick up some literature from the British Heart Foundation.....words like 'GET ACTIVE ' lept out at me....a welcome piece to cut out for my vision collage I thought.
When I got home I read the booklet which I found very useful...looked up their website because they are happy to send free literature, there are walking groups all over the country with a leader not too far from where I live....so in the future I could walk in a group, wouldn't always have to walk alone.....
And the best bit is.... I went for a nice 45 minute walk by myself, motivated by all that I had read and more sparkpoints today......I'm getting more active!

Thanks for the advice, I'll look up their website and see if there's a walking group by me. I walk by myself with my dog but it would be good to have other people to chat to. (Time goes quicker then!)

I'm learning to enjoy the journey....

Thursday, April 01, 2010

In all the times past when I have tried to lose the weight, that's been the focus, diets and diet clubs....still them in control, me trying to please and be a perfectionist with more and more dissappointment...
Now I want to be the leader of my own destiny (following the plans and purposes God has for my life). Allowing myself to enjoy each step, finding fun and pleasure in life instead of a limited life of food substitution.
I am coming out of hiding, to speak out and express myself emoticon

  you can do it
remeber it is not about a diet.
it is about living healthier and making smarter choices.
good luck on your spark journey.
and it is okay if you screw up,
just get back up and start over .

    Good Morning,

It has taken me a few years to reach where you are at.. Finally learned to do it for myself. You can be the leader of your own destiny, and celebrate every little victory.

Good Luck.. and God Bless.

Trish
