A process

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

I wish there were a book I could read each day to tell me
exactly what to do to live consciously from my heart and
soul. But part of the mystery and magic, part of the reason
I'm here, is to try to stumble through and hear what the soul
has to say about what it needs at each moment--whether it
is to work through an emotional block, discover what the
next lesson is, meet the next soul mate (my children
are soul mates; my best friends are soul mates), or
finish my business with the one I'm with now. Ultimately,
for most of us, the journey comes down to the same issue:
learning to love freely. First ourselves, then other people. ~Melody Beattie

First ourselves, THEN other people. Lord knows I'm trying to learn how to love me. I'll do well for a bit but somewhere along the way, I stumble. I know that's part of life but I want so bad to get this right. I'm afraid of giving up like I've done in the past. But where would that leave ME? In defeat and despair.

Yesterday, I was on a good track. I was low on calories so I decided I could have a treat. Well needless to say, I went to far. I should have known better from past mistakes but my addict mind is cunning, baffling and powerful and I gave in. So here I am confessing my faults ALOUD.

SELF, can you hear me now????? emoticon

Forward and Onward, I go!!! emoticon

You are so right!! I've been researching and weight gain is tied to self-esteem which I run a little short on...... I know it is ridiculous because we each have our own gifts to share and on and on but it is tough sometimes. Retrain and rethink. It is a struggle but we are there with you and support you. Love your image 'bird w a FF' and will follow future posts. KEEP IT UP GIRL! YOU GOT THIS ONE! AND IF YOU DON'T, I'VE GOT YOUR BACK!!!!!! emoticon emoticon

As to the kindness you mention, I wish I could have been of
more service to you than I have been, but if I had, the only
thanks that I should desire are that you would always be
ready to serve any other person that may need your assistance,
and so let good offices go around, for humankind are all
of a family. As for my own part, when I am employed
in serving others I do not look upon myself as conferring
favors but paying debts. ~Benjamin Franklin

Let us ALL have this mind today! emoticon

Motivation comes in many forms

Yesterday morning my 6 yr old says,"Mommy if you die, nothing will be the same." I told her nothing would be the same without her either, if and when that happens, she would get through it because of who God IS. I went in the closet and pretended to look for something and cried. Stuff like that makes it that much easier to stay clean and work toward being healthier. It's a day by day process, and in time, if I continue to put the work in, I will see positive results. I CAN DO IT!!! Have a good night! emoticon

Our attitude tells the world what we expect in return. If it's a cheerful, expectant attitude, it says to everyone with whom we come in contact that we expect the best in our dealings with the world. You see, we tend to live up to our expectations. And others give to us, as far as their attitudes are concerned, what we expect. Our attitude is something we can control. We can establish our attitude each morning when we start our day--in fact, we do just that, whether or not we realize it. And the people in our family--all the people in our world--will reflect back to us the attitude we present to them. It is, then, our attitude toward life that determines life's attitude toward us. Cause and effect. Everything we say or do will cause a corresponding effect. If we're cheerful, glad to be experiencing this miracle of life, others will reflect that good cheer back to us. We are the kind of people others enjoy being around. ~Earl Nightingale

I hope you've been good to this day! emoticon

I went to church today and what a great service it was. The sermon was about commitment. "Taking your commitment through the roof". Gossiping about Jesus and exercising your faith in Him. He talked about the paraplegic(paralytic)and how his friends carried him to Jesus each of them carrying their own corner of the bed. Because there wasn't any room through the door(so many people gathered there)they took him through the roof. They wasn't concern with what the cost would be to fix the roof they just knew Jesus was there and their friend needed Him. Impressed by their belief, Jesus said to the paraplegic,"Son, your sins are forgiven". That's the type of faith I want. I AM, refreshed and refocused. Thank You Lord!

I hope Everyone is having a great day! Love you ALL and praying for you. Continue to support and encourage each other whenever you can. emoticon
