thinking seriously about buying the 30day shred..I have done some research on it..There is no reason whatsoever I shouldn't be back in those 16s comfortably by the end of the 30 days (or how ever long it takes me to complete the 30 days LOL)cuz to go along with this 25+ pounds I have gained, I have gained inches too... emoticon this is a test to see how BAD I am wanting to get back into those 16s .. If survive this 30 days with Jills I will work on another 30 to strive for a size 14 --by the way if I don't survive tell my husband NOT to bury me in my jeans LOL

Go, Shell, go! You CAN do this! You did it before. You're so right about our need for Sparkpeople -- but it's a healthy need!

That is the point I was at in August. I couldn't bring myself to buy a larger size. Instead of squeezing into the wrong size, I made a change. So far I have lost 15 pounds. My pants fit, but I really can't wait until they are too loose.

Good luck! You CAN and WILL do it this time. And you are never alone.

7/17/10 marks my third year on my journey..I have learned a lot over the past 3 being is losing weight is the hardest thing I have ever TRIED to do.
The first year I was 100% with SP..I logged all my food/workouts/posted/blogs/journal did it all by the book..The first year I lost 50 pounds..
THe second year I was 50% with SP I logged half my food-half my workouts-halfway posted..but worst of all I only gave it my HALF..went to the gym half the time--ate the way I was suppose to do HALF the time..I lost around 10 pounds the second year
By the third year I had lost my zeal--I had really THOUGHT I could maintain at 175 besides I wouldn't eat THAT bad--I did SOMETIME walk a mile or 2 and occassionaly I would hit the gym...over the year I watched the scales SLOWY climb back up & what did I do?? Got a second wind for about a week or two..hold steady on the weight (notice I didnt say watched it go down) after a couple weeks bang--back to sometimes & occassionally. My forty days of purpose?? well it started off good..
well I have been to the gym the last 3 days & my eatings have been BETTER not good just better..

I started this journey at 230 pounds at one time I was down to 169 went back up to 175 stayed there for several months then I watch the scale start climbing..not one pound at a time but several at a time..I am back up to 202..A place where I vowed I would NEVER be again..But here I am..

I agree. Life without SP would be difficult; I have learned so much.

Sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are the ones we remember the most. It sounds like you have a determination now. Good luck.

Monday, June 28, 2010

well I am about half way through my 40 days of purpose and the last week hasn't been good at ALL...HOT sooo HOT we're talking 105 hot---but that's just ANOTHER excuse..I have full usage of the gym..which I haven't used....I have several workout videos--which I haven't used...I can walk anywhere-store-mall-hospital---which I haven't done...I have 3 weeks to redeem myself...and make this 40 days a TRUE PURPOSE

1 week down

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

well my first week has gone --oK not the greatest but not the worst eating has been better --the workouts??? well they have been slow--because of that I have not lost any weight so far--BUT I haven't gained either so thats a mega plus. as I plunge toward my 40 days I will do better

remember if you see someone without a smile give them one of yours----

emoticonSheila!! Your 1st week sure does sound like a emoticonstart to getting back on track!! I ended up coming down with the flu and am just now starting to feel a bit better, so I ended up not getting any exercise in. Hoping by Monday I'll be feeling 100% so I can get back to working on an exercise routine. Sure does feel good once that exercise routine becomes habit again--can't wait!!

life with a purpose

I got it back---while in the mist of cleaning house yesterday I popped in Leslies tape and did a mile..went on with my cleaning house..walked a mile on the track..on the way back home I took the scenic route home and a mile away from home I stopped the car & told my DH that I would walk the rest of the way home..a mile up hill-down hill--around curves--on gravel..I LOVE THAT WORKOUT ..uses a LOT of muscles in's a long winding hill, coming down is ALMOST AS HARD as going up..holding myself back (so I won't go rolling down this hill) I can feel the muscles in my legs working overtime...I LOVE THAT FEELN" before the day was over I was also able to get in some leg lifts with my restraining band... my eating??? better
it stormed last night and me???? I SLEPT LIKE A BABY

How's your week starting off Sheila? I did NOT get my Leslie workout in this morning. I made excuses, BUT...right after the girl we babysit leaves a little after noon, I plan on starting dinner in the crockpot (yummy homemade spaghetti sauce), toss some whole-grain goodness into the breadmachine with some garlic, & then pop Ms. Leslie into the DVD player! I shall have worked out, showered & have the house giving off an incredible to-die-for-aroma when the dear hubby comes walking through that door after work! (Of course, I planned on getting up at 6am to workout, too, and that was a no go, so maybe I better check in with a thumbs up or thumbs down later! HAH! Hope it's a thumbs up for both of us!!)

emoticon emoticonYou did an amazing job!!! You are such an encouragement, Sheila!!! I do believe I'm going to head over to my library's website & put a few new Leslie DVDs on hold to mix it up a little. As for now, tomorrow A.M. I shall do her WATP Express 2003 2 Mile Brisk Walk (30 mins) + stretching (15 mins). I plan on doing that Monday, Wednesday & Friday this week & strength training on Tuesday & Thursday. May we both persevere & thrive in our godly goals!! Love ya!!

Amy =)
