First Full Workout on Stationary Bike

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

So I've been sick but have gotten a lot better so today I thought I would actually try to complete a full workout on the new stationary bike. While being sick I would do about a mile and then say no more, that's enough! But I was determined that I would at least make it to two miles today.
There are 6 different Weight Loss Programs that the bike has that you can do. So I decided I would start with the first one. 4 miles long it goes uphill and then down hill. I guess you could say it was literally an "up hill" battle. I was listening to music while working out, I got to two miles and decided that I could do more. I told myself over and over again that "I can do this" "Don't give up now" "Keep going" And guess what? I did! It hurt like crazy I thought my legs were going to fall off, but I was not going to give up because it got hard.
The bike also lets you know if you are going fast enough, because it wants you to go at least so many miles per hour depending on the resistance, I was struggling to keep going fast enough. But I kept pushing, kept going, imagine my surprise when it beeped at me telling me I was going TOO fast!
At the end there is a straight stretch with a low resistance where it wants you to go slower as you finish up, and when you get to the end it does a countdown. 3...2...1.... Yes! Victory! I did it!!! 4 miles! It felt like one of the hardest workouts I've ever done, I now see why people say it's a great workout.
I look forward to being able to do more!
Oh and P.S. You really are capable of so much more then you lead yourself to believe.

Until next time remember stay happy, stay healthy, and always aim for progress not perfection.

    Good job....good luck.

Our minds usually give out way before our bodies.....I've concluded it's mostly a mental struggle and so I try to work on that

keep at it!

Stationary Bike!

Monday, February 04, 2013

So I am super excited because my fiance and I got a stationary bike! I've been sick so haven't done a whole lot on it, only about a mile a day. But even that mile is tough! It has 18 different resistant levels and then heart rate programs, aerobic programs, and weight loss programs, it has a nice bright display screen, built in fan, water bottle holder, iFit card technology, speakers, mp3 compatible, and you can adjust the seat to fit you perfectly. And it was a steal! We got it for only $100 found a lady not too far from where we live who was selling it because it had turned into a coat rack. But it looks like it's brand new. I included a picture (hopefully it shows) so that you can see what it looks like. My fiance has been using it everyday since he is not sick and he always gets a great workout from it. =) Can't wait till I get better and can really try it out! emoticon

I don't have as nice a bike as that but I do ride it 4-5 times a week from 30-45 minutes, followed by a walk and sometimes a swim. I like that the bike is right in my house and I can just hop on. Hope you enjoy it, and feel better soon.

Just a little about me. =)

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Hey everyone!
So I thought for my second blog entry I would just tell you a little bit about me.
(Maybe by doing so some of you will be able to relate to me, it's always nice to meet someone you can connect to based on similar experiences or anything else.)
Well I'm a youngin' only 19, I'll be turning 20 this year.
Animals are my passion in life. I have a cat, a German Shepherd, and a sheep.
I want to become a Veterinary Technician, that way I'll get to help animals every day!
I am engaged to the most amazing man, he always supports and encourages me to do whatever I want to do. (And I make sure that he holds me accountable for my workouts)
Since I am only 19 years young I realize that there is no better time then now to take charge of my life and take care of myself. You always hear people say it's never too late to change, well it's never too early either.
I try to stay positive, but I'm not perfect so sometimes things get me down. I realize that life is hard and sometimes it hurts more then you want it too, but life is precious, it's a miracle, a gift, and it should never be taken for granted. So you gotta love, laugh and smile and learn to let go of the pain. Life really is too short so appreciate what you have when you have it.

I love helping people or giving any advice that I can. So you can always feel free to ask me any questions you'd like. emoticon

Well that's just the tip of the iceburg, but it's a little bit about me.

Remember; "Aim for progress, not perfection."

Thanks for reading! emoticon

My first blog!

Sunday, January 13, 2013

So this is my first blog entry I'll start off by telling you that I have a habit of rambling on a lot! So don't say you weren't warned.

Well I've been a member on here for a few years now about 3 or so. I've managed to lose weight but then I'd always gain it back. But 2013 is my year! I'm going to make 13 my lucky number not a bad one. =)

I started working out on Jan. 3 (so about 10 or so days ago) I am doing the Leslie Sansone Walk at Home program. I'm so out of shape though right now so I'm starting out with only 1 mile a day. And then after a full month I'll switch to 2 miles and so an and so forth until I work my way up to 5 miles. Then after about 6 months I want to start incorporating yoga and strength training I use to love using kettle bells. I also love kickboxing and dancing but I'm not very coordinated so I was thinking of maybe trying step aerobics.

As for diet I've been eating a healthy breakfast everyday, it's either a yummy salad or a fruit smoothie both of which I add hemp seeds to. Now I know when I say hemp seeds a lot of people think of drugs, but it is completely THC free, no drugs in hemp seeds. They are an amazing plant source of omega-3's and proteins. 3 tbsp of hemp seeds a day gives you all the omega-3's you need. So as of right now I eat about 1 to 2 tbsp with my breakfast every morning. It also helps you feel full longer. So healthy breakfast and then the rest of the day I eat whatever sounds good I just try not to over do it. And I try to drink plenty of water.

So the results thus far? After 10 days I've lost 5.5 lbs!!! Which is really awesome it's nice to see progress to keep you motivated. I know it will slow down the more I lose, but that is a great start! Can't wait to see what the future holds!

My motto: "Aim for progress, not perfection." =)

Thanks for reading!!! =)
