I can't believe how far I've come

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

I have been on Ideal Protein for just over 5 months. I have lost a total of 59 lbs. While I am not to my original goal of 140 lbs, I am phasing off. I am going to Las Vegas in a few weeks, and I want to be on maintenance when we go. I am very happy with my size now, and I feel good.

I changed my "official" goal to 150 which I still haven't seen yet, but I am going to Phase 3 Friday. I just can't see obsessing over these last two lbs.

I am just going to see what happens. If I can maintain between 150-155 I will happy with that. I may eventually try to get to 140, but right now, I think I need to learn how to maintain and be healthy.

Ideal Protein

I started Ideal Protein 02/10/11. I decided to do this diet after a couple of my friends successfully completed it. Plus I like the idea of losing the weight relatively fast then being trained on what I am supposed to eat to stay at that weight. It is a low carb/very low calorie/low fat diet. This is a diet. Eventually I will eat more normally, after I lose the weight and they teach me how to do that.

My first WI was 02/17/11 an I lost 6.4 lbs the first week. I knew it would be a bigger number than normal the first week. My next WI is 2/24/11 (2 days) and I hope it goes well. I expect to lose 2-3 lbs a week.

I am very proud of myself for not cheating. The first several days were very difficult. Not only was I hungry, but I was a Diet Mountain Dew drinking fool. The caffeine withdrawals were the worst. I think it distracted me from my carb cravings. After a couple days I was less hungry, and a few more days I had much more energy. There are no more afternoon slumps, My energy stays pretty even through out the day.

I am very excited about this I really think I can succeed at this. I think for the first time in my adult life I can get control over this!

My favorite so far is the vanilla pudding made like a shake, with 10 oz of water. I think it tastes like cake batter. I tried the tomato basil soup today, and it was really bland, I added a ton of salt to it and it was a little better, but it still needs something. I also didn't really care for the blueberry/pomegranate drink but I could drink it if I had to. Luckily I am not a picky eater, so I like most everything (Which is probably why I need to lose weight emoticon ).

1.7 lbs is great! I know these big losses wont' last forever. As a matter of fact I haven't lost much inches. I figure next week the weight will slow down and let the inches catch up!

Another 5 pounds! That is awesome. So do you have any favorite foods yet? I was hesitant to try some of the items...but have found that some of them are better than I expected them to be. I swear by the omelet for a full feeling meal.

I weighed in today too. I only lost 1.7 pounds for the week. It's the least amount of lost but I'm trying not to get too bummed about it. Each pound counts, and keeps me heading in the right direction.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I had my weigh in this morning, and I lost another 5 lbs!

Wow 7 weeks with out cheating that is great! I don't plan on cheating, I just want to get the weight off, and learn how to eat normally. I take it one day, and one craving at a time.
