Weight Loss Challenge Goals

I am not a writer nor a blogger by any means, but this weeks challenge required I write a blog about my goals so here goes. My goals extend way beyond this challenge. My ultimate goal is to lose at least 100 lbs before my wedding on April 5th 2014. That gives me just over a year to accomplish this. I can do it! In the meantime I just found out my cholesterol was high when it was checked a couple weeks ago. Last year when it was checked for the first time ever I was told it was great. So that means I need to get it under control sooner rather than later! I am focusing big time on the excercising and trying to watch my portions. These last couple days have not been good at all though so today I am back on track and starting the Heart Healthy thing in this house! My fiance has been doing most of the cooking because of being off work and being home all day while i'm working my behind off so I am going to have to get him on board with cooking healthier or I am going to have to start cooking more. He also has big weight loss goals though and is not as picky as I am so hopefully it won't be much of an issue. I am also going to try to plan our meals out so that we it will be easier to resist the urge to just run out and grab something. I am planning to google some recipes tonight for new meals.
Now for my short term goals of this challenge, I have had to think a little about this to come up with some. Here is what I came up with.
1.) Lose at least 20lbs
2.) Start the couch to 5k program (as soon as we start getting nicer weather I am wanting to try to start this. Winter decided to hit us late this year. It has been so cold lately and we got about 6 inches of snow last night.)
3.) Have more energy and not be so tired all the time
4.) Start eating healthier foods including more veggies and watching my portions
5.) Continue drinking lots of water and little to no soda (Been doing very good with this part so far!)
That seems like an awful lot for such a short timeframe so we will see what happens, but it gives me something to strive for. If I even achieve half of these I will be doing good and very proud of myself for what I accomplished.

    Yay for you! These sound like awesome goals.

I have done similar Couch-to-5k programs and have absolutely loved them. I am by NO means a runner or a jogger. I always do a walking program. I have been surprised at how resilient my body is, even being so overweight, and how attainable it was to reach 5k. I'm not saying every day was easy, but it does get easier and very motivating when you reach that 5k mark. You can totally rock it. :D

    I just started a C25K program last week... It definitely needs to warm up here too! Have you tried any of the Spark Recipes? I usually go there for inspiration, and tweak them a little using the "makeover" option. Good luck with the rest of the challenge!
