My Odd-yssey, Tap Out XT & Nutrition Week 12 By The Numbers...

I have finished 12 weeks of working out & diet! It was nice to have a somewhat "normal" week after 2 weeks of ear infections and strained back. Felt good to have a full range of motion again!

As far as Tap Out XT goes, I am really happy that I made the choice to do that program. It was a good move for me following Insanity. It has me already thinking about my next program but that will have to wait since I still have 67 days fo Tap Out left!

I averaged 1,968.0. Aiming for around 2,000. Justbelow my daily minimum range. I really should be right around 2,000 with as much fitness activity I am getting. Will work on that this upcoming week.

As for fat, Spark says I can have between 45-92. My week in fat...

I averaged 36.1 I was aiming for mid 30's so I was right on my number. Going to try and aim for closer to my Spark minimum for week 13.

As far as Carbs, Spark says I can have 226-384. My week in carbs....

I averaged 240.3 I was aiming for being as close to my Spark minimum(226) as possible. I believe this is the best week I have had so far and will continue to try and get as close to that number as possible.

I averaged 168.3. Wanted to average around 170. I just missed, mostly due to a low number Saturday. For week 13, my goal will be more of the same!

Being back up over 500 minutes and burning over 6,000 calories is right where I want to be. I have a feeling that week 13 may be my most active yet! Stay tuned!

I have finished 10 weeks ofworking out & diet! It has been a bit of a difficult week coming off of being sick. I did eat pretty normal last Sunday but didn't work out because of illness so my fitness minutes and calories burnt are still a little down from where I would like them to be.

I am weighing in today (9/17) and am a little nervous with the week of being sick and limiting my workouts. Plus I didn't track for a few days last week and I don't think I did bad, but it was a lot of icees and low fat frozen yogurt because of the throat. We shall see!

I'm curious...why do you follow the Spark recommendations, but you don't follow the fat intake recommendation? I just wonder why and if you feel it's helping with your weight loss. (Yes, I'm nosey!)

I have finished 10 weeks ofworking out & diet! This week in review will be a little different from the 9 that came before it. First, it was my first week of Tap Out XT instead of Insanity. Second, I only tracked for the first 4 days of the week since I came down with a double ear infection and extremely sore throat and had to go on a majority icee diet and no exercise. It was a strange week but I feel more focused and ready to go for week 11 than ever!

Light At The End Of The Sick Tunnel!

This double ear infection has pretty well kicked my butt! I used to have ear infections all the time as a kid but have only had 2 as an adult so I was kind of surprised when the doctor said that is what it was.

I have now finished 2 full days of antibiotics and I have improved since I first started yesterday morning! I am not 100% but ear infections can be kind of pesky and I have to take my medicine for 10 days! The biggest problem has been the sore throat that has accompanied the ear infection and that has also gotten better but is still hanging annoyingly hanging around.

The plan is to be better for tomorrow (Monday) and get back into this program100%! I really have done nothing exercise wise the last 4 days hoping that it would help me heel up back to normal quicker and not have any setbacks. I honestly can't wait to get this thing bach on track! I am looking forward to eating real food! To many icees lol!

The good news is, besides icees, I really didn't have much in the way of bad food. I did have some low fat frozen yogurt but nothing crazy. A few times when my throat felt better from ibuprofen, I really thought about grabbing something bad and tried to justify it in my mind as i'm taking a few days off from everything, so why not. Jeez, that was old Brad but new Brad won that battle and I didn't let it happen and I am so glad I didn't!

I haven't tracked food the last few days but I am ready to get back on that horse! I have never looked forward to having a low calorie, low fat, low carb diet more than I am right now!Basically, I am just plan READY!

    Great job new Brad!!! I also feel that temptation to grab something quick and easy (boxed mac n cheese or fast food) when I'm feeling laid up. But I manage to resist by reminding myself that only healthy food will help me mend - everything else just weighs me down! So glad you're SO ready.

Who'd Have Thunk It?

Woke up today with a really sore throat! OUCH! I had a feeling last night that I might be getting sick. Turns out that I was right, unfortunately! As the day went on I really felt pretty bad, just worn out really.

But, my biggest problem of the day? I HAD TO CHANGE MY WORKOUT SCHEDULE!!! WHAT?!?!?

Who'd have thunk it 3 months ago that I would be equally sad& mad that I wasn't going to get in my scheduled workout today? I was HEATED! It is harder when trying to stick to the Tap Out XT workout schedule for 90 days and I am only on day 5! I hated to get off track so soon!

So I made the best of it. I am scheduled to have a rest day Friday in which I would do my normal P90x Stretch video. So, I moved that up 2 days and did it today and will just move todays workout to tomorrow. I think I made a good decision because with the way I was feeling, I wouldn't have gotten in a good workout.

Hope I feel better for Thursday so I can get in a good workout!

    Ohhh Brad, you sound like me. I HATE to miss a workout because of a pithy little thing like sickness. Or injury. Or fatigue. In January, I would have been HAPPY to have a sick day excuse to veg out! Not anymore.

Take your time and recouperate, even though that might seem like the hardest thing in the world. Go for a couple walks and maybe do a few small ST movements. Don't push it until you're feeling 100%.

    I'm sorry to hear you've got the ick. Hopefully it's a drainage issue that resolves quickly. I know tonsillitis is going around-- or is that even contagious? Hmm. Anywho, several people I know have it. Don't beat yourself for taking a lighter day. Remember, this whole journey is about better health.

    I know how hard it is to not get your workout in. Before I wouldn't mind but now I want to work out! However, listen to your body. I had a sore throat over a month ago and figured it was just a sore throat.. so I continued working out. But that little sore throat ended up getting 100x worse (abscess in my throat, not talking for days, drained and in bed for nearly a week) and working out was not in the cards.

Listen to your body, if you need an extra day or two take them. The workouts will be there when you get better.

    I know how hard it is to be active when you get sick. When I get sick it always hits me like a ton of bricks and all I can do is sleep. Congrats on getting some activity in, just make sure you do not over do it. Gargle with warm salt water, my grandma always had me do that and it does help. Hugs to you and I hope you get better soon!
