Sick is usually where it stops for me

So I don't know why, but when I exercise, and start eating better I usually get sick not too far into it. I stop exercising, and chow down on the comfort food. Well it happened...I got sick on Friday, and it hit me the hardest yesterday. I was exercising every day up til then, and still keeping within my daily limits as far as food is concerned. Yesterday I could barley get out of bed. I wanted to eat everything I shouldn't, and you know what I gave in, but not the way I was expecting. I ended up having two turkey patties instead of one, and had a medium sized bowl of bananas with oatmeal raisin bar and low fat vanilla yogurt. That was my sick binge. I felt kind of bad while eating it, but looking back that is nothing compared to my big macs and fries. I didn't exercise, but am planning on hopping on my elliptical tonight, and see how long I can last. Normally once I stop I won't start again. That doesn't even feel like an option to me this time! I am going to make this happen, and feel great knowing that even my "bad decisions" aren't near as bad as they used to be.
I weighed in today and lost another 4lbs making that a total of 13 down in two weeks! Even for being sick I feel amazing. I have a lot more energy, and am bouncing back a lot faster than I used to. Yay!

I don't look at food the same

I love the nutrition tracker. It's made me so aware of what I'm really putting in my body. Even if something says it's low fat or low calorie doesn't mean it's good for you. I realized today as I was making a sandwich that food doesn't have the same hold over me as it used to. I would always give into my cravings and felt like I could never overcome them. I couldn't eat any sandwich that wasn't covered in mayo. Gross I know, but I used to love it! I haven't eaten it for over a week and just use extra mustard instead. That was one thing I didn't think I'd be able to give up at lunch time, and I no longer have the desire to touch the stuff. Junk food just doesn't have the same appeal to my anymore, and I couldn't be happier!

Finished my first week and am 9 pounds lighter!

So after my first full week I am feeling amazing! I'm not going to lie it wasn't all easy, but I didn't give in! I'm a pretty bad grazer, and overcame that this weekend as well! I've always known what to do to lose weight, but I was never able to start, and stick to it. I truly believe with the tools on this site, and the amazing people full of kind words and support will really help me succeed this time. I know I won't always be this strong, and might slip up some day down the line, but I'm going to take it one day at a time, and make sure I hit every fast break goal I set for myself. I can do this, and seeing the results so far has put a permanent Tuesday smile on my face!

The weekend is what I've been worried about most. That's usually when my cravings kick in the hardest, and up to this point I've given into them. Our fridge was pretty empty for the last couple days so I didn't really have to worry about gorging myself even if I wanted to. This morning when I woke up there was a fully stocked fridge including chips and cookies on the counter =O I'm not going to say I wasn't tempted to rip those chips open and stuff handfuls in my mouth. I took a couple deep breaths, and gave myself a mini pep talk. I can still have chips but the right way! I found a recipe for chips you can make in the microwave. At first I thought it was too good to be true, but one potato, garlic salt, and 7 minutes later I had chips that tasted better than store brands without hating myself afterwards. It felt great! I finished all 8 glasses of water, and even doubled my exercise time first thing in the morning. So far so good! I hope tomorrow is just as easy =D
