Day 35... The Reckoning

Day 35 was a good day over all, that is until about 8:15pm Dun dun duuuuuunnn! I did come in under calories but I also had a piece of chocolate cake, I figure as long as its within my calories and not often no worries. I had a nice long walk, and had a bit of adventure because a dog decided to play chicken with me during my walk (he lost lol) over all a good day, I felt good about the whole day. I was hoping for a dry day today (Tuesday) so that I could take another walk about but I woke up to a wet ground and its raining, and the fella in the plastic box said it will rain all day, so it looks like a bike ride for me today.

on another note, I couldn't resist, I got on the scale this morning, a mid week weigh in if you will. and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a 4 as the first number on the scale. so I step off and back on again, and there it was, still a 4 followed by a 99. thats right, I am outside the wall! no more 500's for this kid! I am at 499Lbs as of today Tuesday Feb 05 2008! I am very happy about the weigh in. I won't post a picture of something that weighs 499lbs this time as its not my official weigh in day. look for it on Friday! lol . ok ok enough about that. heres the menu for the day.

2 slices lite pumpernickle bread 80
1 tbsp Miracle whip 35

1:30 PM
1 can Progreso lite soup 120
10 ritz wheat crackers 140

Grand total of 1495 calories for the day, I feel a bit guilty for the cake late in the day but I honestly do not think its a bad idea to have something like that from time to time, after all this is a lifestyle change and needs to remain permanent. moderation is key. it feels great to be out of the 500's now I just have to stay out! as always thanks for reading! and today I leave you with a quote.

You should be incredibly proud. Your food log is looking great and you fitted the cake in the calories. Just not too often hey. (I cannot talk but we both know what should is not always what does happen. Fantastic though to now be in the 400's. I'm proud of your awsome effort.

I'm sure happy doesn't even begin to describe how you feel today. I'm about 5 weeks into my journey, and the little milestones I've hit have made me feel even lighter than I am. New-found energy if you will. Congratulations!

Day 34

My weekends seem to go all weird as far as the intake goes, I usually wake up a little later than normal and because the wife and kids are around I just don't eat until later. I don't know if thats a good thing, because its changing things up for my body, or a bad thing, because my meals tend to be very minimal early on in the day and very heavy toward the evening. a long as the weights dropping I will not worry about such things :) . nothing really exciting to report about the day, it was a lazy day home for the most part.

I normally don't exercise on the weekends, no reason really why I don't, I just don't. I am looking forward to taking a walk if the rain holds off today, its suppose to drizzle in the afternoon. if thats the case, a bike ride will have to do. either way I am looking forward to it today. Spring time cannot come fast enough for me at this point, for a few reasons actually. it will be nice outside so I can go for walks and or to the park, and by spring it will have been 4 to 5 months at this and the weight loss will hopefully be significant by then! I also snuck a look at the scale this morning (Monday) I will not say what I saw but still happy :) .

onto the menu.

02/03/2008

Breakfast
12:45 PM
2 slices Beefsteak lite rye 80
1tbsp peanut butter 100
1tbspn grape jelly 50
1oz Vermont sharp cheddar 110
8 wheat Ritz crackers 112
green tea 0

Lunch
5:00 PM
Danon Cherry Vanilla Yogurt 60

Dinner
7:00 PM
5oz roast chicken breast 250
11oz baked potato 290
1cup canned corn 120
2 pats butter 70
2 tbsp no fat sour cream 25
1 glass crystal light 10

9:30 PM
1 Zone perfect bar 210

Grand total of 1487 calories for the day, sort of heavy late in the day and non existent earlier on. it doesn't seem to affect the loss so I won't really worry about it. maybe the change keeps my body guessing, all in all a good day and weekend. Until next time, Thanks for reading.

lost 9 lbs now! 503lbs = me :)

Friday, February 01, 2008

This 1985 GV700 Madura V-Four weighs in at 503lbs

Day 31

I did not make my calories again. I actually came in 355 calories short, man I gotta stop that lol. Today (Friday) is weigh in day number 2, and its a short week as I just weighed in on Tuesday, but I wanted my weigh in day to be the same as my wifes so I changed it to Friday.

It was an average day as far as everything went, nothing too important to report really, I did mess around with some dumbbells in the afternoon, some curls and triceps extensions to go with the push ups but nothing really strenuous.

Oh the best part, I just weighed myself this morning (Friday) and I weighed in at 503lbs so thats a 3lb loss since Tuesday! so I am happy with that. the hard work appears to be paying off! but I want more lol. its time to step it up a notch I think. I am going to attempt to make my work outs more intense and last longer. I am a mere 3 lbs off of my mini goal which is to get off of the 500 block and get into the 400's . I may have to have a mid week weigh in on Tuesday again to see if I made it. also I posted a picture of a motorcycle last week when I weighed in, because the bike weighed the same as me. I am going to post a picture of something that weighs the same as I do each week that I weigh in, and since I am getting back into bikes because of the reward I set for myself, its been bikes, man I can't wait until I can't find a bike that I don't weigh as much as! lol so with that I give you the menu and the photo.

01/31/2008

Breakfast
9:00 AM
1 apple 75

11:00 AM
2 hebrew national hot dogs 90
2 slices Beefsteak lite rye 80
ketchup 10

Lunch
2:15 PM
1 can Progresso lite soup 120
1/2 cup cooked white rice 100
1 english muffiin 100
1 pat butter 35
2oz sliced tomato 10

Dinner
6:15 PM
1 cup near east whole grain Rice Pilaf 210
5oz roasted chicken breast 275
1 cup green beans 40

Grand total of 1145 calories for the day, I decided that I was not going to make myself eat the remainder of the calories for the day because I was weighing myself in the morning. I need to get the calories back up into the 1400-1500 mark for the rest of the week, I worry about going into starvation mode and messing up my metabolism (not likely at my weight but still) I am happy with the 3lb loss, especially since its only since Tuesday! if I use the "about a lb a day" rule as its been that way since I got the scale I am down 30 lbs ish but no way to tell for sure so i don't count that. thats my day and morning in a nutshell and I am still feeling very positive about the decision to make this change in my life. Thanks for following.

A lot of people don't 'opt' to take a 'before' picture of themselves, but someone posted to the team a pretty good idea. Do the same 'pose' and take periodic pictures then make them into a 'film' of some kind and you can see your progress over time. I think maybe that would be something you could do!!
You're doing GREAT with your choices, both food and exercise wise! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!

BOTZZZ! WAY TO GO!!!! Just checking in on you and what do I see? Lots of good things going on! awesome! Shnoogles is right though... eat enough calories... you will stall your weight loss really quickly if you don't! Also.. seeing a lot of starchy carbs. Those will convert to glucose really quickly and can contribute to low energy once that burns off. If you need anything at all don't hesitate to ask! YOU ARE DOING GREAT!

Whoo hoo! Good job! Yes, you need to make sure you're eating enough calories. Otherwise your body will go into "starvation mode", and it will be harder to lose later on.

I came across your blog and wanted to say that I think you are doing fantastic! I admire your commitment to all the changes you've made towards the final goal of a healthier lifestyle.

I agree with you that you need to bring the calories up into range in order to keep the momentum going. It's very important that you "fuel" your body properly.

Congratulations on your 3 lbs! That's awesome!

Down 6lbs!! now I weigh 506lbs

Tuesday, January 29, 2008

This 1983 GSX 750ES weighs 506 lbs as well

Day 28 the weigh in Hath Cometh!

Another one down 500 days or so more to go lol. I went over by 13 calories so I am at 1513 for the day, for that I am annoyed lol, the night before weigh in and I go over by 13 calories! and the bran cereal at the end of the day that put me over was just to help me lose a little something that has not happened in, 2 days, lets call it a "Movement" :( , otherwise all is well and the change rolls on.

I did get on the scale this morning and it said that I have lost 6 pounds, I am now 506 lbs, I will take it! lol I am somehow not as happy as I should be though, I guess I was expecting more, which sounds crazy to me. 6lbs in a week is a great number, I guess its that "biggest loser" thing, where they are dropping huge amounts each week and I guess I just thought it would be more. don't get me wrong, I am ecstatic about a 6lb loss! was just expecting a little more. perhaps it was wishful thinking ;) . my wife weighs herself on Fridays, I am going to weigh in on Friday with her this week just to see if theres a difference in 1/2 a week. I may even change my official weigh in day to Friday just so its on the same day as my wife.... 6lbs! woohoo lol

onto the menu..

Day 27

Monday, January 28, 2008

Dinner at Mom in laws..went great, she served thick pork chops with a pepper and garlic rub on them, lemon pepper sword fish steaks, brussel sprouts, sweet carrots, curry rice, tiny red potatoes chopped up and baked with some sort of garlic flavor on it, and a great mixed green salad. I finished off the meal with a cup of green tea and some chopped up watermelon, a good time was had by all, and I came in under calories for the day so I am happy. it appears that she likes these Sunday dinners that she has been inviting us to and she is extremely cooperative and understanding with the limitations that we have as far as cooking the meals go. she asks if its ok to use butter, oil, or whatever she may be using before she actually cooks it, and everything is good usually.

I drank plenty of water and Green tea today, had 2 glasses of crystal light as well, but I am trying to limit the CL and get more pure water and green tea. No exercise today, I figured I would give my body one more day of rest before I got back on the bike etc, I plan on hitting the bike hard tomorrow though maybe I will ride it twice, once at my normal ride time and once after my kids go to bed for the night, we shall see.

My body is changing, if not in appearance (I can't tell anything yet visually, wife says she can see it) in the way that I can feel my muscles again, I am aware of them and can move them all independently of each other again, that may not make sense but its the only way I can describe it. The only Visual feature I can definitely see is my calves, they have always been large from the lifting weights as well as the carrying all of this around all the time, more the latter I believe, BUT I have definition in my calves again. I am not saying they are ripped, but you can see each individual muscle again and I am diggin on that lol.

This post is turning into an epic post so I will get to the best part which is the menu! and todays menu was outstanding from breakfast right through dinner, everything was good and filling and tasted great. heres to changing things up! the omelet! man that omelet!

01/27/2008

Breakfast
10:00 AM
1 whole egg 70
4 egg whites 65
2oz sliced tomato 10
1oz Kraft lite cheddar cheese 50
1 pat butter 35
1oz chopped onion 5
1 dill pickle 10

Lunch
1:30 PM
1 can Progresso chicken herb dumpling soup 200
1 english muffin 100
1 pat butter 35
1oz sliced tomato 10
crystal light 10

Dinner
6:30 PM
4oz broiled pork chop 240
1/2oz sword fish 20
3/4 cup curry rice 165
small green salad 30
3 tbsp lite Cesar dressing 135
4oz baked red potatoes 100
5oz brussel sprouts 50
6oz watermelon 52
12oz green tea w/sugar in the raw 1 pckt 20

9:30 PM
small lite yogurt 45

Grand total of 1457 calories for the day, and I enjoyed every bite today! the omelet my wife made me was great and the entire breakfast including the pickle was only 245 calories! I will be making that again. I cannot feel like I am on a diet when I eat like I did today and all within my 1500 alloted calories. How could I have not done this sooner?!? I feel like I am eating better than I have in years AND I am dropping pounds! as you can see i am happy with how this whole change is turning out for me so far, I still want to see how a whole month goes knowing my weight and seeing a positive number drop, and see exactly how I am doing per week etc but so far I am happy with the results. I will end this post here as I feel like I am going on and on here lol so I just want to thank you for following along once again. Thanks!
