Oh deary me a three day post because of an internet issue.

Tuesday, July 08, 2008

My son was pouting because I let his sister play with his clay and the baby said "why he sad Dada?" and I made this bust of my son out of said clay. I thought I would post a random picture for you just for fun.

Today is Tuesday July 8th, and I still have no internet at home, I am at my mother in laws house feeding her snakes so I thought I would hop on and post up how stuff is going. my internet has been down since Saturday and will not be back up until this Friday so I do not know if I will be able to get a new post up until then, hopefully I can. I do have a post typed out in word for today but for some reason it didn't make it onto my thumb drive when I loaded it up so I will post it when I can. so without further delay here is a post. I hope to see many comments when next I return :)

I wrote the following on Monday as if I were posting it.

From here down is from Monday 07-07-08

So, I guess you heard, I had an internet problem and could not get online almost all weekend so here is the make up post, it may go a little long and I am typing it out in word as if I were posting it a soon as I am done. So Saturday was your average day as far as Saturdays goes I made a pot of my chili chicken pepper soup which was started around noon and was finished by 5:30pm just in time for dinner and a little more rearranging in the living room. My intake for this day was 1030 calories before the popcorn that I had later in the evening which I estimate at roughly at 305 calories, 12 cups air popped popcorn at 240, 1 tbsp of Smart Balance omega 3 spread at 50 and a couple shakes of Cheddar cheese popcorn seasoning at 15, so I guess its not an estimate after all. So with my quick addition it brings Saturday to 1335 calories with the late night popcorn. I will admit that I slacked in the exercise dept on Saturday, but it was more because I was very busy and by the end of the night was just plain old beat from moving furniture around all day but I did nothing that would be considered an exercise routine next to a few push ups.

Here is the Menu from Saturday.
Breakfast
9:00 AM
2oz grilled chicken 100
2 slices whole wheat bread 140
1 tbsp miracle whip 35
small dill pickle 5

Lunch
3:45 PM
3/4 cup peas 80
3/4 cup white rice 150
1.5oz grilled chicken 75

Dinner
6:45 PM
2 cups home made pepper chicken soup 300
1/2 oz corn chips 60

7:45 PM
1 pear 85

10:30 PM
Big Ol bowl of popcorn 305

Grand total of 1335 calories.

Sunday was another busy day because it was bulk shopping day and we were out shopping for groceries for a couple hours and let me tell you, pushing a cart around a store for more than 2 hours filled with 7 gallon jugs of Arizona diet green teas, 6 whole chickens, 6 gallons of water, my daughter in the seat of the cart and my son standing on the front of the cart along with all of the rest of the things we were buying, that cart was HEAVY! And I sort of stacked it heavy on purpose to get a little extra exertion into the day while doing my daily. My intake..ahhh my intake, although I did make it under calories I do not feel like this was a good day intake wise, I came in at 1346 calories for the day and was not hungry all day but I know that I ate a lot of sodium and a lot of crackers, I woke up late and ate a pear to start the day but then it was laughing cow and Ritz for a late breakfast and add some turkey pepperoni for a lunch, I need to lay off the laughing cow! Dinner was some Nachos that I decided to make sort of spur of the moment while we were in the market, I bought what I though I would need to make a low calorie Nacho plate and it turned out very good. One serving turns out to be about 340 calories and includes Corn tortillas, refried beans, tomato, shredded Mexican style cheddar cheese, onion, olives, jalapeno peppers, a southwestern style salsa and light sour cream. The serving size I made was Huge and half of it would have been enough for a dinner or a good sized lunch, so when you look at the menu for Sunday the dinner slot has the nachos in it and that is 2 servings which I figured out after I made it. I will post exactly what I used and the amounts of each ingredient in a later post.

Here is the menu from Sunday.

Breakfast
10:30 AM
1 pear 85

11:00 AM
12 ritz crackers 168
2 laughing cow wedges 70

Lunch
4:15 PM
12 ritz crackers 168
2 laughing cow wedges 70
turkey pepperoni 100

Dinner
6:15 PM
2 oz Tortilla Chips 240
1/2 cup Refried Beans 90
Tomato/Onions/Olives 40
4 tbsp Salsa 30
2oz Mexican Style Cheese 160
2 tbsp light sour cream 40

9:00 pm
1 pear 85

Grand total of 1346 calories.

There is my weekend all typed out, there was much more but since its not exactly related to weight loss I won’t bore you with it. I did buy some ground flax seed to try, I hope it helps out with the ferry leaving on time and daily, and I have to admit that after looking at my intake for the past week or so I do see that I am not eating as many veggies and fruit that I use to and should be. So the refrigerator is stocked with pears, apples, watermelon and a bunch of veggies so that I may get my ruffage into each day and help that boat leave on time. Between adding ground flax seed to my diet and taking note of the lack of vegetation lately I think I will be back on track in that department soon enough, or so I hope. Another post has come to an end and hopefully another pound has been shed, I thank you for following along with this mans “trip to the half”.

Speaking of ferries,... I notice you eat a lot of Laughing Cow too. When I eat too much yogurt, my ferry doesn't leave the dock. For my sister,... it's cheese. She eats a lot of cheese and she doesn't go for 3 days or so and then when she does she's in the loo for an hour - lol. Ok, ok, it's really not that funny. I was having ferry problems a month or so ago and it was TERRIBLE! So I know what you're going through. I tried all that fiber stuff, but it didn't seem to move anything. I laid off of the yogurt and slowly got back to normal.

Good luck!!!

Good to hear u got some flax seed. I like to think you took my advice because I was the first post. LOL Listen you don't need much after 2 days, ur gonna be good. My BF family is from the islands, and I got a lot of friends from there....trust me, they know they truth about it. Also which I don't know if ur into, but a laxative when u don't feel right always helps. LOL Listen it helps for a lot of stuff & people don't know the power in those lil powerhouses of death. You got a hangover, drink water, gatorade, & take a laxative...u will be able to function. Trust me.

But if you feel the extra fiber at once ain't helping, get that laxative. Let it all go...u will feel better!!!

Sucks about the internet. Oh well, I guess it gives u more time to exercise & spend time with the family.

Later

:) Nice blog there. :) I LIKE the clay-kid you made! Hopefully he liked it too - at the very least, it should've got rid of his sulks. :)

And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't necessarily do "traditional" breakfasts all the time - I like chicken for breakfast occasionally. :)

A night at the Hospital and a late weigh in.

Saturday, July 05, 2008

Some of the chicken on the grill yesterday.

It is Saturday the 5th of July, I missed my weigh in post for yesterday because I was out all day and was up late the night before because of spending 4 hours in the ER at the Hospital, a day or so before Thursday I had noticed that when my daughter went poop there was something that looked like blood in it but since we had crushed tomato in dinner the night before we did not want to panic and decided to check the next time she went, and then Thursday we were at my Mother in laws place and kiddo went to the bathroom and it was red again so we drop everything and off to the ER, we ended up sitting there for about 4 hours to thankfully find out that the red was because of what she was eating and they said it was a combination of all of the watermelon that we have been eating and that some of it was undigested melon and the dye from some fruit snacks that wify had bought last week, though I was not thrilled at the 4 hours we were there 3 of which were spent waiting to see a second doc for a whopping 3 mins, I was thrilled that it was just dye and lotsa melon, alls well that ends well and my heart is back in my chest instead of my stomach and we now have a funny story for our daughter when she gets a little older.

Now onto the weigh in for this week, I did not weigh myself Friday morning, I was beat from the Hospital visit and we were heading out for the day and I just forgot that it was even Friday because wify was home for the holiday and before we get to what I weighed lets cover yesterday for a moment. 1685 calories were consumed and there was a dairy queen cone in there at some point, we grilled BBQ chicken on the grill and had a salad , dirty rice and corn for dinner and then went fishing for a couple hours, it was a nice easy day and just what I needed. we also had some fireworks for the kids later that night so we set those off and the kiddos loved running around with sparklers, or what passes for sparklers these days. this morning when I woke up I wanted to get right on the scale and see what the damage was because I knew I was not less than last week and I was right, I came in at four hundred thirteen pounds today which is up one pound from last week, but I do believe that last weeks weigh in was lower than it should have been because of dehydration so I am not worried about the 1 pound up that I see. We also watched a movie last night after the kiddos went to sleep, A river runs through it, I will admit that it was a good movie, I had never seen it before last night which wify couldn't believe. I did have a handful of her popcorn while watching it but I did count it on my intake so I feel no guilt for it.

Heres the things to consider with my weight this week and it will get a little nasty (poop talk coming up as well as advice needed) so if you do not wish to read about poop skip this paragraph. Houston! we have a problem! lately I have not been lets say regular, before yesterday it had been more than 2 days but less than 3 that I had a movement. and yesterday (after some fluid loading and BBQ chicken) the earth moved and septic systems everywhere groaned at what had occurred, just after dinner I had a knot in my stomach and every part of my body screamed at the same time to get into a bathroom NOW! I honestly had the image in my head from Lord of the rings where Gandalf was fighting Balrog and tells Frodo "Run you fool!" so that I did, and 30 minutes and 12 flushes later I walked downstairs weak and dazed from what had just happened looking enough like I had just run a marathon for wify to ask "are you ok? you are covered in sweat" and the rumbling subsided. with that I do want to ask for opinions and ideas as to what I can do to become more regular again, anyone that would like to take a look at my menus and maybe see something that I am missing that would cause this please all opinions will be read, just know that dehydration is not an issue 95% of the time and everything I eat is on my menus. The other thing to consider as far as my weight this morning goes is that I drank a gallon of green tea while watching the movie last night so I do believe that some of the weight has to do with that little fact.

Here is the menu from Friday.

07/04/08

Breakfast
9:00 AM
2 multi-grain english muffins 200
2 eggs 140
1 tbsp miracle whip 35

Lunch
12:15 PM
3oz roasted chicken 150
2 slices whole wheat bread 140
1 tbsp miracle whip 35
dill pickle 5

1:00 PM
small dairy queen cone 230

Dinner
6:00 PM
8.5oz chicken 425
green salad w/Newmans own light honey mustard 120
3/4 cup dirty rice 185

11:00 PM
hand full of popcorn 20

Grand total of 1685 calories for the 4th and my weight is at 413 this morning, and I am good with it all. I know this week is going to bring a big drop in weight and I honestly believe that the huge drop off at the bowl in addition to the huge amount that I drank yesterday will make a difference in what I weigh tomorrow when it all regulates a bit. Thanks for reading along.

You can buy whole flax seed and grind it yourself. I bought some out of the bulk bin at Winco, its $.80/pound. If you have a food processor, grind it yourself and store in the fridge.

Don't increase your fiber all at once or you will still be in the same boat. As you increase your fiber, you might have to increase your fluids or again, you might be in the same boat!

Great snack: sliced strawberries topped with Dannon Light & Fit yogurt and 1TB (or more) flaxseed.

Hope you get back to being a smoother mover! emoticon

SO glad to hear your daughter is ok.
Now for your ummmm poo problem..I am constipated most days so my first suggestion is to check your fiber. I know they say 25-35 grams a day but let me tell you I need at least 45 to be somewhat regular. I have started adding two of the All Bran tea mixes to my plan as each one has 10grams of fiber and that seems to help.

I also have been adding more strawberries.

Fruits and veggies are good. OH and I have Pintos and cheese from Taco Bell 1-2 times a week as one order is quite filling and only 180 calories.

Now to your weight fluctuation due to dehydration....I find that with me it is the complete opposite (unless I am reading your post incorrectly) when I don't get ENOUGH water I instantly gain 3-5 lbs as my body retains all the fluid it can. Then once I get back to the right amount for me those pounds vanish as quickly as they came. For me I can have NO less than 96oz a day and most days have at least 144oz. They say to have 1/2 your weight daily and to add for exercise accordingly.
I think you stated you are getting 128oz, I would try upping it and see how things look from there try adding 1-2 cups daily till you find your ideal number. I am also a mouth breather since I have chronic sinus issues which makes me drink lots at night. I keep a bottle of at least 1.5 liters on the headboard at night an most nights it is at least half gone by morning. And yes I have been checked for diabetes and don't have it. Just need more water than most. I also spend 3 to 4.5 hours in the pool exercising M-F so I add a few cups extra on those days.

Hope you are having a SUPER weekend.
Shannon

So glad your daughter's ok - scary stuff, can scare the poop outta anyone!
I agree with the others that increasing your fiber intake might be smart, and using that tracker to make sure you get enough is a great idea. Just make sure you don't increase it too fast too soon, or you might have another kind of problem... emoticon There's a great article about fiber in the Nutrition Reference Guide here on SP too!

Yes, more fruit and veggies, if you can't do fruits and veggies add some fiber sure to anything you eat, it is colorless, flavor less and it does help with the "regularity" issue. Good luck! Glad your daughter is okay, we had the watermelon poop issue once, it was scary!!

I'm glad your daughter is ok too!

I also agree with the others about fiber. I skimmed back over your menus and rarely did I see any fruits or vegetables. In fact I saw days where you had none! (1 oz. of lettuce just aint getting it, lol!)

Using SP's Nutrition Tracker's a great idea also!

Listen poop talk ain't nothing new to me. It comes up a couple times a week in my house. LOL We like to make sure everything is regular & our poop isn't weird looking. LOL People think it is weird but my BF works in the medical field, what can I say.

Back to regular movements, I know what is normal for me & this past week I ain't go for 2 days & trust me I was not a happy camper. I wasn't eating as good I normally do so that was my fault. My advice is make sure ur getting lots & lots of fiber from fresh stuff like oats & veggies. Also I add a lil flax seed to my food when I am having an issue as well or whenever I am in the mood. Since water isn't a problem with you, I think you should go to the health food store & buy a small container of pre-ground flax seeds. I got mines at GNC for $6, 10oz container called Dash O'Flax. This particular one doesn't need any type of refrigeration. It's really good for you health wise, but I noticed if I use a .5tsp in the morning with breakfast & .5tsp with lunch, I defiantly gotta go. You can add it to anything & it don't taste like anything. You can use as much as you want as long as you stay hydrated. It's worth the investment for not only the poop reason, but because of the Omega 3's and it's naturally high in fiber.

Gosh I love to read your blogs...LOL

Some people believe in reading tea leaves....I believe in reading bowel movements. It really lets you know what is going on inside.

I agree with Rainwalker that you dont seem to be getting enough roughage in. Now mind you everyone poops differently. Some go 3 times a day...some go only every other 3 days.
Before I started Sparks...I use to go ALL the time. As much as I sprinted to the bathroom you would have thought I would lose some weight... emoticon)
Now..I go once a day ( or twice depending what I eat)..or I may skip a day. There are many foods that will have me doing the backdoor combustion. And I see you had one of those...... A Dill Pickle. But Lord do I love those things!!!!
You did have whole grains in your menu yesterday...But you need more fruits and veggies. I eat an apple everyday ( WITH the skin)....an orange....and at least 2 servings of veggies. ( Spinach being my fav...and that will help you go too) I also take 2 tbsp of flax seed a day. ( Add it to cereals, salads, protein shakes)

Well...thank Goodness you were at home when that happened instead of out and about on the town...haha!
Take Care!

For getting "regular" ... Using the spark nutrition counter you can add fiber to your daily count. Keep track of how much fiber you are eating. Just from looking at the last few days it doe snot seem like you are getting enough fiber. Just my two cents.

Don't worry about a 1 pound gain. The way our body uses water well at some times and stores it at others can be the culprit. Also Fiber will help with water rentention.

Keep up the great work...

Thursday and the eve of another weigh in

Thursday, July 03, 2008

I did not ride the bike yesterday, I did not do my push ups yesterday, I did eat my fill of calories going over by 15 calories coming in at 1515 total calories for the day which is not bad. today I will do a longer bike ride and I will do 150 push ups today to help make up for yesterdays lack of a workout. intake is always on par so I am not worried too much about that. all in all everything is going how it needs to and I am looking forward to weighing in tomorrow so that this unsure week can be behind me, and though it was unsure (only by my own doing I think) it was a good week, I did exercise, I did eat well and I do believe that Friday I was dehydrated so the 6 pound loss was higher than actual weight lost, it is what it is and tomorrow shall show me a new weight hopefully.

Couches part deux, I picked up my new couches yesterday and they match the living room perfectly right down to the throw pillows matching our throw rug and drapes, I am happy with them and got a little movement into the day with all of the rearranging of the ENTIRE living room and bringing old couches out (they are on my curb if anyone wants them lol) ok ok enough about my boring couches.

Here is the menu for Wednesday.

07/02/08

Breakfast
8:30 AM
2 multi-grain english muffins 200
2 wedges laughing cow 70
15 slices turkey pepperoni 70
sliced tomato 10

11:00 AM
11 oz watermelon 93

Lunch
3:15 PM
1 pear 85

4:00 PM
1 zone perfect bar 210

Dinner
6:30 PM
8oz ground turkey 320
2 80 calorie rolls 160
condiments 30
2/3 cup corn 100

9:00 PM
6 ritz crackers 84
1 wedge laughing cow cheese 35
turkey pepperoni 48

Grand total of 1515 calories and you can see the food was nicely spread out and a nice selection of different things, I am finding that if I have a larger breakfast that I am not hungry in the afternoon one bit so this is something I will be doing from now on, large breakfasts. I will keep this post relatively short and sweet so there it is, Thank you for reading.

I am so sad my local SuperWalMart does not seem to want to stock turkey pepperoni anymore. I got it there before but since then I haven't seen it. :( WAH! hahahaha It's right next to where we live so it's difficult to want to shop anywhere else, especially since most items really are less expensive there.

Couches, calories and cake oh my!

Wednesday, July 02, 2008

Ok first things first, I had a piece of rum cake on Tuesday and do not know my exact calories, I am pretty sure I am under calories none the less because I was at 960 and then had the piece of rum cake and I highly doubt that it was 540 calories for the piece and now the tasty goodness is out of my house and temptation has been removed, that should hold me over until next year. Lunch was a bit unorthodox, I had a cup of peas and 3/4 cup rice pilaf which was left overs and I just sort of mixed it together and had a yogurt afterwards. so basically intake was good for the day besides the rum cake but at least I am pretty sure that I kept it under calorie range so bravo rum cake, you made a good showing.

on the subject of my weight, I finally made it under Fridays weight this morning, and that makes daddy happy. I have been trying to figure out what was up with the weight going up almost immediately after Fridays weigh in and never coming back down and I honestly think Fridays weigh in was just off a bit because I was dehydrated and I normalized over the next couple of days, finally coming in today just a tad under Fridays weight. I have been steadily riding the bike daily and have incorporated push ups back into my day which also may be making a difference so again, daddy is happy.

something not weight loss related that I thought I would pop in here, we went out and bought a new couch and love seat yesterday from Bob's furniture (anyone in the tristate area probably has heard of this place) and I must say we got a helluva deal. a couple weeks ago we went in and didn't find anything that we liked but the sales man asked if it would be ok if he called us if something came in that "fit out needs" so I said sure and left him with my cell number, he called me yesterday and said "we just got a custom set couch/love seat come back because the sash underneath the love seat needed to be re-stapled (you know the thing thats under the couch that hides the springs etc) as well as the love seat was slightly lighter in color than the couch and the fella that ordered it turned it down because of that" so I ask how much, he says $399 for both pieces, "I will be right down to check it out!" hopped in the car with wify and the monsters..I mean kiddos to check this set out, I was fully expecting an ugly pattern or a noticeable piece of damage on one of the pieces, you know like the sales man was just telling me what I wanted to hear to get me back in the store, well to my surprise when I got there the set was very high end looking a chocolate brown with 4 throw pillows which match our living room perfectly I might add, so I sat down and they were comfy etc etc etc, so the sales man had gone home for the day but had left my name with the supervisor, when he came by I asked him why they were in the "bargain basement" area and he said that it usually means a customer refused a delivery or it was torn somewhere but he did not know the specifics, well these babies looked perfect in every way so I decided to look underneath and low and behold the sash under the love seat was a slightly different shade of beige than the couch. hmmm this is the part that faces the floor and is just a piece of cloth to hide the springs if one were to flip the couch over, and the color difference in the two pieces? was hard to notice but I guess it was there no worries of mine so we decided to take them off of good ol Bob's hands, We pick them up this afternoon so soon I will be tossing the old leather sectional that we have now and rearranging the living room. Now that I have bored you with my sofa story here is the menu from Tuesday.

07/01/08

Breakfast
8:15 AM
2 multi-grain english muffins 200
2 wedges laughing cow 70
15 slices turkey pepperoni 70
sliced tomato 10

Lunch
2:00 PM
1 cup peas 105
3/4 cup rice pilaf 165
1 dannon yogurt 60

Dinner
6:00 PM
6 inch turkey subway 280

8:15 PM
rum cake ???

Grand total of just about what it should have been I hope and if not, it is what it is. were moving in a forward direction and holding the line. I am just a guy that made a decision to lose some weight and get healthy again and here I am doing just that day in and day out without pause. eventually you will be reading about how I am maintaining my weight or how I am trying to fund the skin surgery that I am anticipating needing to get and I will be able to look back and say "I was once 534 pounds and here I stand now at 275, and all it took was a little bit of a commitment on my part" I do thank you for reading as well as the support you give.

That picture of Bob is creeping me out.
You are doing so awesome. Have I ever commented on your blog without using the word awesome? Probably not.
I have been meaning to ask you where you find turkey pepperoni-I've looked at two local grocery stores and can't find it :(

Congrats on your progress... now about the rum cake. I found several recipes on line that range in calories between 308 and 521 per serving so I don't think you went over too badly. I also found a light version that only has 215 calories per serving that sounds super yummy. I might have to give it a try. I allow myself to go over my calories by 500-800 once a week just to change things up a bit as the body can get used to the same number of calories every single day. I like to keep it guessing.

Breakfast sounds delish! Kind of like a breakfast pizza?? How are those turkey pepperoni? Do they taste anything like regular pepperoni? I love pepperoni on our homemade pizza, . . . but I don't like the calories/fat it adds.

I need a Bob's place here in California! I hate my sofa and loveseat. I was in a rush to buy cause I was about to give birth to our second child and I was "nesting" cause my mother was coming to stay with us and the couch we had was AWFUL. So I just bought whatever was cheapest and I soooo regret it.

Hey great way to get rid of temptation. I am proud you even held off until Tuesday. You know it would of been gone already!!!!

I heard of Bobs (tristate area here!!) & I was acutally going to stop by there in Feb/March when I was looking for living room furniture. My living room had been empty since November, but I fell in love with something in Jennifer Convertibles. But I have been thinking of stopping by Bobs because I have been unable to get a cpu desk to match my apartment. Everything is the same color wood, Espresso. You know if they got some desks??? Imma have to check that out.

Later

A quandry of sorts, and the state of mind to move mountains

Tuesday, July 01, 2008

My body is doing something odd, something that it has not done since I began this new healthy lifestyle, it has decided to go up in weight from my Friday weight and I cannot figure out why. Friday the scale said 412 lbs and from then on out its been stuck at 414-415 lbs, this morning its 415.4 lbs. The facts: I started exercising regularly again last week around mid week, I ate 1300 calories all week last week (which is the lowest week I have had since starting this), this week I bumped the calories back to 1400 with the intentions of bumping it back to 1500 this coming Friday, I am drinking more than 1.5 gallons of fluid per day which is par for the course. I am thinking that by lowering my calories last week I did lose weight but have I deprived my body of some sort of balance that it had achieved by dropping to 1300 calories for that week? I am not sure but I wouldn't think that a single low week could cause that. I am tempted to bring calories back to 1500 Today (Tuesday) and finish the week out within the range that has been working all along, no matter what the decision is I will be on the bike today for a nice ride and the push up challenge is still on (I did115 yesterday), which actually makes me think about the possibility of the slow drop or should I say gain this week could be because of the extra push ups and extra bike work and the fact that my muscles may be retaining a bit of water weight to cope with the soreness, something to ponder and you just saw a thought appear right before your eyes in text form.

Intake for Monday was good coming in at 1429 total calories and at the end of the day I found myself having to eat something just to eat it and get to the calorie range I have set. everything is great in the intake dept and I am having an easy time with the amount of food allowed, I feel full every day and never really crave anything for the most part. Just like my header says "Its a State of Mind" and I own it, to own ones self is a powerful feeling and to apply what you know to make your life better is more than that. making the right decisions through out your day is key in accomplishing any task at hand and can be applied to every aspect of life, with that here is the menu from Monday.

06/30/08

Breakfast
10:45 AM
1 banana 105
1 tbsp peanut butter 95

Lunch
1:15 PM
1 can progresso soup 120
1/2 cup white rice 100

3:15 PM
6 wheat ritz crackers 84
15 slices turkey pepperoni 70
laughing cow wedge 35

Dinner
6:15 PM
2 Gortons fish fillets 340
3/4 cup white rice 150
1 cup peas 105
ketchup 20

9:15 PM
1/2 cup white rice 100
1 cup peas 105

Grand total of 1429 calories for the day and movement a plenty, so were right on track as usual, hopefully I can get this going up slightly in weight thing sorted out by Friday and have a loss again this week, I know I will and honestly am not worried about for the mot part. grabbing at straws while pretending to be committed is not my style so the bull by the horns will have to do for now as it is what works for me and can work for anyone that can focus on the task at hand and understand that its just a state of mind that you must get into before results will be seen, I am there, are you?

As Ever

  My rules for plateaus:
1) Change up what you are doing
2) Try some HIIT (high intensity interval training) in SHORT spurts
3) Eat more when you exercise more
4) Try adding more fiber

YOU WILL KICK THIS PLATEAU'S BOOTY!!!

When I was doing strength training a lot with cardio exercise my weight loss went down to .2-.4 lbs. per WEEK. Evidently I was gaining muscle weight.
When I stopped strength training and did just some cardio my weight loss is .2-.6 per DAY.
I have to eat within a certain narrow range of calories per day to lose weight. It can't be too little and can't be too much. Right now with my exercise amount it is 1200-1400 and I am a 5 ft tall woman.
I have to be careful not to eat too much salt because I will retain water easily even in summer.

I think you need to bump back up to 1500. Your body most likely thought you weren't going to feed it again this week and whether we like it or not, it can sure dig its feet in and show us who is boss. Maybe it's time to mix up the breakfast a bit? You've been on the banana and PB kick for a hot minute now...how about an egg beater omelette stuffed with mushrooms and zucchini and fat free cheese and some strawberries on the side?

Well I am glad ur just going to continue on your plan & not be discouraged or frazzled because of the slight gain. My guess is, which I can be wrong, that maybe lowering your calories for one week did upset your body's natural balance & you went into a slight starvation mode. Another thing which I mostly agree on is that your body is just having a natural flucuation in weight. My weight fluctuates daily, so maybe 3 days after my weigh in if I decided to weigh myself it looks like I gained some weight & in the end I end up losing 2lbs off the original weight from my weigh in.

Just keep on keeping on...it's all that state of mind of "imma lose some damn weight" (excuse my language) That is what I told & still tell myself.
