Boost of energy

The last 2 days I have had a sudden burst of energy. Whereas I usually walk off around 400 calories on my gazelle, I have walked off 600 calories. I know I owe this to the wonderful compassion of my Lord and savior. I pray every day for renewed strength and energy and help in losing the rest of this weight. Well, he is answering my prayer. Not only do I have more energy but I also don't crave sweets and I don't feel hungry. In fact, I have to push myself to eat enough calories. I am so blessed and grateful!

  


Car shopping

Well, my daughter is now able to drive so we are car shopping. I forgot what a hassle it is to find a good deal at a good price and not be haggled to death by salesmen. I think we'll switch to individuals selling cars instead of car lots. Hopefully that will be less grief!

Backwards

I used to eat too many calories and had to constantly watch not to overeat but now the opposite is happening. I find that I have to make myself eat enough calories. They say you should not eat under 1200 calories because it puts your body into starvation mode and makes weight loss harder. I have to literally make myself eat that many calories a day. I guess things could be worse!

    I know what you mean! I've been MAKING myself eat all day. Usually, I can just listen to my body and eat when I'm hungry (~300 calorie meal/snack every 2-3 hours) but not today. What a change!

Learning and Growing

Last night I played Pokeno with a group of friends. We have a club and play one time each month. I ate some ice cream for desert like the rest of the group and did not feel so guilty. I knew that today I would get right back on track.

This is a new for me. I used to feel so guilty and really beat myself up if I ate more calories than I should. I am learning that it is ok to eat above my range from time to time. The key is to get back on track the next day and not make a habit of it.

I am beginning to understand that we can enjoy the foods we love in MODERATION!

I am so happy I found this site. It is so helpful to read blogs and emails from others going through the same struggle I am. Losing weight and changing a life style that has guided you for many years is a very hard task. Sometimes it crosses my mind to just give up and not worry about it. However, my family is worth it. I want to be there for them and be able to engage in family activities with them. Spark People helps me to keep going. So a heart felt thank you to all of you for continuing to inspire me!!
