Awesome Sunday Recap

Monday, May 23, 2011

Yesterday was a great day! Went to church, went to lunch with the family (Quiznos Salad), went for a long run into the wind..arrgh...but it felt really good. It was pretty hot out so I definitely have a 1 sided tan line because I ran 1 direction the whole time. I should really try to even that out later this week haha. I ran 5.5-6.0 miles total and ended up walking 1.0-1.5. Not too bad. Came home, got some groceries with my husband, made dinner, and went to a friends house to watch the basketball game. I got home a little late for having to wake up at 3:00 a.m. for work but it was worth it. Still working on P90X and the HM running schedule so things are good there. The scale hasn't moved much but I had some cheat days in there after I got frustrated from lack of movement the last time I blogged.

Right now I have 83 days until the HM and 83 days left of P90X! I keep telling myself if I can just stay clean until I finish the program...it would feel sooo great! I might reward myself with a little mini-vacay with my hubby. We were thinking about Kayak lessons!

I hope the motivation stays and that the hard work pays off. Right now I am running around 2500-3500 calories per week spent running and P90X'ing!

Do your best and forget the rest right????

Scale still stuck

Friday, May 06, 2011

Uggghh....

So I very rarely get stuck like this on the scale. I'm happy because I FEEL a lot better, but I would really like to see the scale go down. I think I just feel bloated or full still. Not the flat belly that I had last week. Granted I know I had a slip up earlier this week but I'm hoping I can recover and see some progress!

Running program is going well...I have 3.5 miles tonight and 5 on Sunday. Then it is on to week 4! Ahhh it seems like it is going so fast but I HAVE to keep up! Race is only 100 days away! Woot woot!

P90X is going alright...we have some days to make up this week because of sleeping in and being lazy but we are still getting them done, one way or another. I did the Cardio X video for the second time and it seemed like a breeze! Pretty excited that it feels a little easier and its only week 2.

WHO WOULDA THOUGHT...that out of everything I am doing, I am the most sore from push-mowing the lawn yesterday! AHA HA! Whew...man it was rough work. Not like a self-propelled mower either. It is a $2o, old beater and I never realized the hills we had in our yard before then. But honestly, I am glad I did it. We have been trekking over to Jordan's parent's house, loading up the riding mower, bringing it to our house, mowing the lawn, and then returning the mower. To use the push mower and get it DONE...and bonus workout...totally worth it!

I have the push mower workout as well! It sucks. For added fun, mine bags the grass so I have to stop every five minutes and empty the 20 lbs of grass into the cart!

It is hot and dusty and must burn 1 million calories!

What was your 5k PR?

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Tuesday, May 03, 2011

Remember when that big round ball of fire was in the sky? Whatever happened to that thing? It has done nothing but RAIN for weeks now! Sure, there have been a few intermittent rays of sun between the drops, giving my just enough time to slide outside for some Vitamin D, but its never enough to dry anything out or REEEALLY enjoy the outdoors!

I may switch up my running schedule this week ever so slightly to accommodate the weather. Today is supposed to be 3.5 miles but I may switch it to 2 miles. And run my 3.5's on Thurs & Fri. Or...I could not run today, and run Wed-Fri since Fri is my day off anyway....ugh!

Anyway, despite a temporary moment of weakness on Sunday night, I think I am doing alright. I feel sooo much better when I eat clean and forget the junk. I think I lost close to 10 lbs in 2 weeks just by working out and eating REAL food! Ok, maybe its more like 8 but still!

Well, despite what the weather does, I am sure I will get some calories burned today. Whether it is hitting the pavement, or Asparagus Hunting with my sister later tonight!

Here's to some sunshine headed your way...AND MINE! emoticon

Ode to Oats

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

I love oatmeal...Old Fashioned Oats. I eat them dry, I sprinkle them in my greek yogurt, eat them with milk for a cereal, and occasionally I will actually cook them and make them the traditional way. I really don't know what I would do if I didn't have my staple greek yogurt, oats, egg whites, and fruit for breakfast....and COFFEE!

But it's not just for breakfast....meatloaf, meatballs, hamburger, casseroles...side dishes, desserts, sooo many possibilities. High fiber, low calorie, low fat, low sodium....YUM!

And they cook so much faster than rice...lol. So if you are lazy like me, I guess oats are just the thing!

I don't know many people who eat their oats raw. From a nutritional standpoint they have been heat processed so they are perfectly healthy....but I didn't know if anyone else was on this boat? Also, I have been told by someone that they do this in the UK...any word on that?

I love oats, but I think I need to rekindle the love! I have mostly just used them in granola, cookies, apple crisp, etc. What is the eggs and oats thing? Do you mix in the oats with scrambled...or....? I'm intrigued!

I'm not a raw oat eater, but i'm an avid eggs-n-oats activist! And i've basically replaced flour with oats whenever I can in recipes. You get so much more bang for your buck! Meatballs, turkey burgers, apple crisp, pancakes, galore! I definitely LOVE OATS and not just oatmeal! :)

Oooh. You know how many time people look at me sideways when I say I mix my eggs with my oats....countless. But I love them too. ::sisters in oat-love::

Stuck Scale...I'll give it a few days...

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

I thought I would see a difference in the scale with my increase in activity but I've peaked slightly. I'm pretty sure it won't last long and I will see a move tomorrow.

P90, Running, spending time with my DH...gooood stuff!

So I think I have decided on the Detroit Marathon instead of the Space Coast. After talking to Jordan about it, he advised me that if I was sore....that would totally ruin our vacation! lol....Never thought of that part. Hope we can still be active on the vacation...swimming, running, biking, tennis, putt-putt (if you call that activity), walking around the parks....etc...

I am really looking forward to it! For some reason, when I am on the road I have NO problem eating well. Even on our honeymoon...I had good choices, portion control, etc....there was only 1 night the whole time that got a little excessive---and that was Taco Bell!!! Who goes there on vacation??? lol

Anyway, P90 is going well...need to make up another video tonight from my time out of town for work. Getting up at 4:30 is hard but I am still excited about the program so I am able to get out of bed....Jordan on the other hand was a little hesitant :) He will come around.

Well I hope the weather holds out....nothing but rain, thunderstorms, and tornado warnings for the last couple of weeks (and very minimal nice days in between). Only running 2-3 miles today so we should be good to go!

Have a Happy Wednesday everyone!
