Happy Easter

I am terribly sorry I have not been on my blog for some time. I am here , just not blogging. Time is so short trying to get everything in in the morning. Today is Easter and I'm not really doing anything for it. No special dinner or anything, which could be a good thing.

Wow, I just noticed I haven't been blogging since January. Yikes!

This is a picture of a green house Joe built for me. It is made up of other people's junk and we only spent $6.00 on two 2x4's. And then of course we bought soil, seeds and seedlings. Pots are all free too. Got to love being a junk remover sometimes.

This is Flagler Beach in bad weatrher, but it is always nice to me. We live less than 10 minutes away. We walk Brutus there all the time.

I will make this short and sweet. Happy Easter my friends. Keep on Sparking

Lots of good news lately.
One our business has been very busy after the New Year and holiday stuff,
two, our lease is being renewed at our current rent for two more years, and three, I've lost 5 pounds since sparking again.
It's slow but steady.
Still watching the gluten and carbs. Trying to get my carbs from veggies. Staying away from Bread (which I LOVE) , pasta, and rice. Not easy.

I do not have an allergy so if I slip a bit, no problem.
I am on a 30 day streak. Yeah!
How is everyone doing?

Thanks for the goodie and coming to my blog. I am glad it is getting warmer again too! Just have to get through this rainy spell and dip in the temps next couple days and looks good from here on!

26 Day Streak

That is all I wanted to say, I have been here everyday for 26 days. Up and down everyday. My girlfriend tried the low carb thing. Not sure about that, I love bread, but maybe I can take it out for awhile and pasta, potatoes, rice, etc. I can test it out.

Woo Hoo! Four Pounds

Right now I am weighing myself everyday, which is actually encouraging. I started last Friday the 10th, and since then have lost 4 pounds. If I can lose 4 pounds a week, I can be in that swim suit and my old clothes again by Spring. Oh, and I haven't really exercised yet. besides keeping track of walking with a pedometer. Wait until I start exercising.
So far cutting way back on wine and really logging everything I put in my mouth, eating clean and healthy, and being here everyday. I'm on day 18.

    I'm a daily weigher too. I don't get discouraged if the scale goes up a little, as long as I haven't gone off my healthy eating. I don't care what other people say about daily weighing - it works for me!

    Way to go!

I usually weigh myself every morning. When I tell someone I do that, I usually get criticism. "Ditch the scales!" is what I hear. Same thing when I say that I record my food. However, when I record my food and weigh myself at least once a week, I keep my weight in a reasonable range.

I just have to remember that my weight can fluctuate on a day-to-day basis for different reasons. I try to average my numbers over the course of the week rather than go crazy over each day's numbers. Also, in my case, I lost quite a bit a weight initially, then it slowed down, and I've had a couple of plateaus.

    You can do it. It will take a long time but DECIDING is 90% of the process. The last 10% is budgeting the number of calories, measuring every bite, calculating the calories and writing it down. I love the SP nutrition tracker. I am on Day #160. You really can do this thing!!!

Slip up, but That's Okay

Wow, two days in a row. In my last blog I mentioned the lack of wine made losing 3.6 pounds easy. However I boobooed, Joe and I took Brutus for a walk in St. Augustine. We walked over ten miles in two in half hours. You don't even realize it. But, here it comes, I had wine with luch, and proceeded to drink more later that evening. And you guessed it, it made me gain one pound. Even though I walked more than normal, and eat less calories. Yup.
The good news, I now know for sure what the culprit is. So, this morning, I at a light breakfast, Mexican eggbeater omelet with a slice of Tomato.
Oh, I started making these smoothies,

1 cup almond milk

1/3 cup Blueberries

1 medium Banana

Anyway, I set up everything I will have throughout the day. from lunch, dinner and snacks. My beverages will consist of coffee, tea, smoothie, water and 8 oz V8 low sodium.
After warking with Joe on a job, I am going outside to clear a tree and branches that fell, thank God in the opposite direction of the house.
So, stay tuned for tomorrows weigh in. I also hope to walk Brutus.

    I haven't tried the almond milk in my smoothies yet. My brother does that. I do a smoothie every morning with two oranges, one cup of raspberries, 2T of flaxseed, and a serving of powdered nutrition (like instant breakfast), with a cup of water and two cups of ice cubes. I love them and never get tired of it!

    Thanks for the smoothie recipe...i will look into that almond milk. That sounds like fun, walking around St. Augustine!!! Stay focused! You are doing great...even with the slip up! You're human! Hugs!!
