Yesterday we both hubby and I had heart dr appt. I was having a good day nice sunny temp beautiful. then we get to the dr ( I was just there in July) got checked in they gave me papers to fill out med list pharmacy ect I was going along fine till I turned the paper and needed up date on family history I was still doing ok then at the last wording of the sentence parents if deceased if so at at what age Oh that hit me like a ton of bricks started to cry there in the waiting room . the nurse called our name in a few minutes and then took my B/P HA!!! 153 over 82 the Dr did ask if B/P runs that high I told him no and explained why it may be up and he understood . Any way we are both doing good in fact hubby doesn't need to see him any more just follow up with reg DR and me see in 8 months also he is retiring in Nov so I will be able to have the nice good Dr mom had in the hospital. Oh mine is nice and good too but this other one is young and good looking too LOL

I tried to think positive when we left but that sort of dampen my day.

But today is another beautiful day so I have been out in the garden for 3 hours cleaning up planting flowers .Good cheap( well not really I spend too much on flowers) Therapy LOL

All in all I think you are doing really well with losing both your parents so recently. Most days will get better but there is no denying it sneaks up and hits you hit when you don't expect it. I hope today is better.

Well I went and saved $$$$

Thursday, April 04, 2013

I have been looking for a new treadmill for a few weeks now my old one is still good but 8 years old and I wanted one with new tech stuff on it.

Finally a week ago or so we went to Sears I was looking at the Proform but found a Nordictrack C900 for less and a lot better but to find out 2 different brands but same Company. It was on sale at a great deal !

It has 32 different programs on it and ifit compatible, speed to 12 and incline to 15 and I am lovin it it has four shocks on each side . The ifit was sold separate so I waited a few days to buy it I was going to wait longer but I was on my emails one day and Sears left me one that they haven't seen me for a while and would $25 off a $50 or more purchase get me in the store well the ifit was $99 I also had 14.22 on my reward card so the 14.22 and 25 got me off $39.22 off the 99 so I think I did real well !

This will help me keep walking when it gets to hot out and to cold in the winter like today it is nice out but damp and the pollen count is up not good for the asthma.DS didn't have a treadmill so we gave him the old one and he was happy to get it.

tiring to stay heart healthy Brenda

I have been "hinting" to the hubz how a treadmill would make me happy enough to perhaps bake him a pie or something :P , would come in so handy during winter, my southern behind is not too keen on getting out in the snow! Congrats on saving moula, always a good thing :)

Oh, I envy you a lot! I really miss my treadmill for when I don't want to walk outdoors. The iFit sounds nice as well. Plus you saved lots of $$$ - a win, win situation!

It really is nice to have something available besides tapes. I have terrible allergies and walking outside can be hard for me. I live in a building that recently built an exercise room. It's so nice to have the treadmills there.

check your meds

Thursday, May 12, 2011

I am asking everyone to check the medicine when you have it filled I just got Mom's fill at Walmart checked it when I got over to their house I didn't recognize one of the pills looked closer and realized they gave her 100 MG of this pill instead of 10 MG 10x the dose could of been a dangerous situation if I didn't notice it SO PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR MEDICINE WHEN YOU GET IT FILLED. emoticon

I'm glad I just have asthma inhalers and common/generic stuff (thyroid) that is not likely to be done wrong and is color coded.

Second time for heart cath : (

Thursday, April 14, 2011

Back 3 week ago I was feeling so very tried I thought just let me get to the weekend and I can get rested up well that didn't happened called in Mon and Tues .Tues evening came and still sooo tired decided to go in to ER I thought I would be home in no time HA HA they kept me and put me on a nitro drip Iv and said I was going to be admitted and have a heart cath Wed evening at 5:30 . They keep me in ER till then no rooms upstairs. That was alot of fun couldn't get rested at all B/P cuff on one arm going off every 15 minutes and IV in the middle of the other arm felt like I couldn't move.

They finally came to get me and off we went I was tiring to be brave in front of family but I was scared. Every thing went ok the 2 blockages I had 8 years ago hasn't increased at all but one of they was having spams that was giving me chest pains and being tired .

They did a new test to check the flow and the flow was 89% and 86% not bad so they are not going to do anything for now.

But later on that evening around 10 the cath lab people came in to take out the plug I didn't know I had one in thought I did good this time with no bleeding after the cath.

WEll that is when problems started the #'s showed ok to take it out so they processed but I started to bleed and oh the pain was terrible gave me something for pain and he had to put pressure on the site for 45 minutes then put the pressure strap on til 5:30 in the morning.

I had been laying on my back 12 hrs before I was able to get up. . During the night I know I was still loopy from the meds but I saw someone come in the room and go to the bathroom I had already asked for a pain pill for my back when this person came in the room the nurse came in and I told her what I wanted and I asked by the way is the lady in bed next to me she looked at me strange and took a look and said yes !!! I told her well There Is a Little old man in my bathroom LOL she looked at me like yea right but she opened the the and he gave her a surprise LOL he started to walk out she was stunned and tried to talk to he to go back to his room finally I called another nurse to help her convince him that that wasn't his room. So I did get a good chuckle out of that.

Got home Thursday afternoon was going back to work the 11th of April but the DR put a weight limit of lifting only 10 LBS for a month and they will not let me come back with that restriction so I am on LOA til May 11.

With all of this happening I have to realize I am NOT wonder women and I can't do and please everyone.( WE have had family medical issues on both sides since last May).
I need to take care of myself and stop worrying so much or I am not going to be good to anyone.

I start cardio rehab Monday I can't wait so I can get back on track and they will help me see were my limits are. I have had enough heart cath for a long while do not want any more.

So here is to a fresh new start for ME !!!!!, Brenda

Thanks for the comments on my train blog.
I can totally understand the medical issues stuff especially the stents. Dh had his put in over 12 years ago and he is doing great.
We also love to go camping in our very small motor home. having to set up with my back issues we bought the 23 foot RV its great for us. I test drove it and loved it DH has never been sure he likes to stay in Maine mostly.
Now he has eye problems and I am so very happy I have been insisting I drive it more these last few months. Now he has to give up night driving, make the most of every day and take care of yourselves. Its the only way to go. HUGS and Thanks Pat in maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Brenda - I am so sorry you are going through this difficult time. I well remember how scared we were when Norm had his heart attack and surgery. I also know all you have been dealing with for months with parents and in-laws. You need to remember to take care of yourself first. This LOA is a good time to reflect and decide what you need to do for "you". I'm pleased you are going to cardio rehab - that should be a big help for you. Best of luck and health!

What a day it started off good thinking good thoughts and things stated with my family and I finally Blew my top some what. some people doesn't get it .

And since I am off for the summer wlll I guess I have all the time in the world to sit on my tail......
I got the impression that some people don't think my job is worth a crap just being a Kitchen Helper...... and that I am off the summer, talked to my sister and she was the peacemaker this time but it was not her that started it.

All summer I tried to keep peace in the family but a person can only take so much.

Well tomorrow is another day a new beginning to a fresh new day and positive thoughts. emoticon
