Stained glass

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

I'm taking Art on my Challenge of Hogwarts team last week was stained glass. I watched the tutorials, and I realised that I could not afford the materials. I asked if I could draw and color a design and was told that would be ok. I took a picture of the design and am now using it as my profile pic

Your stained "glass" panel would make a lovely lap quilt! Sorry but I see lots of things as if they were bits of fabric sewn together.

Oz the Great and Powerful"
From Disney 2 hours

This is a prequel to the 1939 movie "Wizard of Oz". Like that movie it starts out in Kansas in black and white and later goes to color.
James Franco is s magician, fake, womaniser and con man in a carnival. Escaping from trouble in a hot air balloon he gets caught up in a tornado. He lands in a wonderland of color called Oz. The people there think he is the fulfillment of a prophecy of a wizard named Oz (which is his nickname) who will save them from two evil witch sisters East and West.
He doesn't want this job but finds deep within him the goodness to be the wizard the land needs, winning the Emerald City from the evil witches. Setting up the story told in the 1939 movie.
The special effects are good and in some parts can be scary for small children. I think this is one of the few Disney movies that has no songs. I still liked the story

sad

Friday, March 14, 2014

For a week I've been reading on Facebook posts that my oldest DD and SIL have been making. I called her last night to ask what is going on and she sounded tired and asked why. I told her I've been reading Facebook so she said "DH and are getting a divorce but I don't want to talk about it right now. I'll have my sister call you (DD#2). This morning she called and said SIL had been having an internet affare for 3 years and decided to leave and be with this woman. He moved out took the only car and cleaned out their bank account. She went this morning to try and get the car which she needs for work, she's a home care nurse, and he had a lock on the steering wheel, porn mags and open box of condoms in the car. He came out and gave her $500 or the $750 he took and told her he was going to Ohio (they are in SC). DD#2 lives with them and is helping with the down payment on another car so they can both get to work. They put SIL's stuff in boxes and put them outside for him but he doesn't want them so they put them on Ebay. DD and SIL have been married 24.5 years have two grown children.

I wish I could be there for her but I can't get down to SC. I want to hold her like when she was little and got hurt and just let her cry. Then find him and beat knots on his head

He is not the man we've known for 24.5 years.
My middle DD is coming up to Ohio to get her DS who is living with his father for Spring break I'm going to see if I can hitch a ride back to SC for that week, since the boy will be coming back to Ohio and going past KY both trips

This is so sad, over a year ago my SIL suddenly told my DD that he no longer wanted to be married after 17.5 years of marriage. My DD lives in SC also and that is just so far away it was a few months before I got to see her after that.

I, too, am extremely sorry that your SIL chose this for his family. I believe that he will live to regret his sad decision; however, it is your daughter to whom my heart goes out. I wish she could somehow see into the furture & realize that she will recover from the hurt, disappointment, & fear that she is no doubt dealing with.

If the car is in both their names, she should go after half it's value in cash. He, at least, owes that to her!

May God bless your daughter with His unique peace of mind!

Oh, Bonnie!! I just happened to look over and see your blog scrolling by on the side bar and ... I am shocked for you and your whole family - especially for your DD!! Your SPfriends, CASEYSAUER and LINDYPOWER say it all. I am emoticon someone who's been in your life for over a quarter of a century - - - it's hard enough when someone you've loved for just a few years betrays you, let alone 5x's that many years. There's just no right words to describe how low - it's just that NASTY.

I know what abandonment is, betrayal, and rejection. The only comfort I have is assurance ... she will become that strength that lies within her. Inside of her she is a force to be reckoned with though she may appear crushed beyond repair. He'll come crawling back one day and she'll have to decide if that's really what she wants back in her life, but if he doesn't, there'll be days he'll regret his choices and wish he could turn back the clock, and if not even that, it's time for her to think about HERSELF and move on with her head held high, because she's sooo worth much more than the *stuff* on the bottom of her shoe.

It is always hard to see you kids suffer. I think sometimes it is worse than your own pain.

It may be hard to see now, in the pain of the loss of this family .. but there is a blessing there~he is gone! Once time passes and healing happens, the family will see that they are stronger, healthier, happier and so much better than before. It's like removing a cancer...once you're rid of it healing happens!

LINDYPOWER 3/15/2014 9:58AM

It's traumatizing to see shifts in family dynamics - after all families are the foundation of society. But in this case with your son in law - Thank God for Good Riddance. He's an addict, irresponsible, and addicted to certain chemicals in his brain that make him feel good. He's no better than a heroin addict.

And in the end, your daughter will be free of it. It's rawfully painful. It's a shame. But your daughter cannot change him. And who would want him back after all the betrayal and damage he's caused in the family.

Over time when the dust has settled, your daughter will find happiness again. The door is closed but others will open for her. Keep the focus on your daughter not him. Be positive, be supportive, and don't mention the sex addict ever again to her. emoticon

My studio

Wednesday, March 05, 2014

I don't know how to post pictures on line so I will just describe my studio.
My studio shares space with the office. I have an old dresser that I use as a cutting and ironing table. The drawers are gone so I store my yarn underneath. However, I have so much yarn that it over flows to the side. I subscribe to the belief that she who dies with the most yarn wins. My main craft is crochet, followed by cross stitch, embroidery and quilting. My main work area is the living room where I sit in my fav chair with my feet up watching TV.
I'm looking forward to learning some new crafts.

Oh, Bonnie. You know how you've got pictures of you and your daughter and family in your pictures on your SPpage? It's just like that over here on the blog as far as the uploading goes. Just take a picture or two with your digital camea, plug it in to your computer and download to where ever you save/store your pictures (mine is on the E drive and some use the C drive or D drive - doesn't matter, it's up to you). Then, like Mary Lynne said, while you're making your blog there are tabs above your post box (just below the place where you gave a title to your blog) and one tab is for emoticons, one for adding site links for music or other things, and one is for uploading a photo. It walks you through the steps as you 'do' it just like it did so you could add your personal pics to your SPphoto gallery on your SPpage. Anyway, I sure would love to learn how to knit!! I have vanity drawers & drawers in the matching highboy where I keep my *stuff* too!! Happy crocheting & knitting & crafting, Bonnie Girl!! ::hugs::

Hello heart how are you ?
We have been together for many years but I've never talked to you before. I'm sorry that I've taken you for granted after you have worked so heard all the time. You never ask for a day off or take a vacation. It was 10 years ago when you reminded me how hard you work and I've tried my best to think of you more since.
I've not been good to you but I am trying. I'm exercising more and trying to loose weight and I hope that we can work together for a long time
