Hoop reveal!Wednesday, June 13, 2012
My daughter and I went out and bout our own tubing in 100 PSI (3/4 inch) as well as 100 PSI (1/2 inch) for mini hoops. We also found a variety of tapes to get started with. I can't wait to see what we come up with. If you live in Ottawa, and want a hoop, let me know...I won't charge a fortune like some people do. ![]()

You had me LMAO between the cat and you explainations. How YOU can't get the hoop you want boggles the mind. I just ordered whatever was pictured maybe that is why I don't have a problem. I wonder how you would ship a hoop to Texas from Canada hmm. I could dream. I love your hoops they are all beautiful. The only thing that came to mind for the name of the hoop was that it had all the colors of the American flag; it reminds me of the Fourth of July. I know you don't celebrate that but, that's all I got LOL. You son's hoop reminds me of Spiderman. I'm loopy today don't pay me any attention. Good luck with the hoops and keep us posted on them.

Nicholas and I watched your vlog together. He thinks you should name the blue/silver/red hoop "Thomas" as it has the same colors as Thomas the Train. The green ones could be Percy and Henry, he said.. But how about something about Emerald City or Robin for Kermit's nephew.. Did you order them a certain set of colors and get different ones? I'm dealing with that.. not color diff. but pattern diff. on my mini poi hoops.. I decided I like the ones she sent better than I'd like the original pattern I requested, but after I complained about it she made mini's that matched big one (original request) so I still need to pay for those, I guess. I had to wait for paycheck this Friday, though. I do not have names for any of mine YET, but we will be naming them all soon. Thank you for the motivation to do it and for introducing your hoop family to us! One more thing, please make a vlog teaching how to make a hoop. I need to make a few, too, I think. I've got the hoop bug! Where did you find the supplies? Report Inappropriate Comment |

I think you should name the nameless one "Captain America". It reminds me of Captain America's shield. Or would that be too weird in a Canadian hoop family? lol. Where did you get your hoops? I would be pretty upset if I didn't get what I ordered. I wonder if you can contact the seller and let them know about the issues you are having? Report Inappropriate Comment |

I decided to check out what my city had to offer as far as hooping goes. I mean really, there is only so much I can learn on my on without a fresh point of view.
I found two people who host classes, however one just finished her session until September and the other has 2 left. She said I can drop in and pay just for the last two which works out great! I will try tonight and see what I can learn.
I also found a Facebook page for local hoopers. Apparently they have a SinJam weekly on Sundays near my end of the city. It's a sunset SpinJam and there were several people there with varying levels of skill. Surprisingly I was not the lowest on the totem poll....CLOSE, but not last!
They had advertised a Hoop Picnic for earlier but I had a nasty migraine all day so I decided to skip that event. Kinda wish I hadn't but, you can't change that!
I went with my daughter and although it was a 2 hour thing, we stayed for a bit over an hour then left. We were both pretty tired and I had actually hooped for an hour at home before going so I had lost my hooping feeling.
We were AMAZED at the stuff people were doing, it was GREAT!! The woman running the thing came over and gave us some pointers which was great. It turns out she is the one who teaches the class I want to join in September.
We hooped on the beach, which for me was challenging. For one, it's harder to get your footing and having broken my ankle a few years ago, made it a bit challenging. The other thing was that I can not stand being barefoot EVER. So I kept my shoes on, then the stand got in them and YUCK!
My daughter and EVERY other human being there was barefoot. One woman actually wore her socks only. Still, it was not gonna happen for me I tell ya!
All and all we both enjoyed it and we had a spectacular sunset. So It was great for us to do. I burned nearly 1K cals during both my hoop sessions so I am thrilled about that too, considering when I started my calorie burn was at 1100 and by the time I got home it was at 2450!!!
Here are a few pics of our sunset Spin:
They even had people balancing on this 'tight rope'. it was Awesome!!!

I love to hoop barefoot except when that hoop comes a'crashin' down on my unprotected tootsies. Shoes are the first thing off when I get home. Yep I'm a barefoot'r when ever I can. Glad you joined the group. I wish we had classes. Maybe once I get grooving on the hoop, I'll be the one to start a class. Report Inappropriate Comment |

Beautiful and so peaceful looking. I hate the outdoors but looking at these pictures, I could see myself sitting out there watching the sun go down. Thanks so much for sharing them with us. I would take my shoes off in a second... this country girl is shoe-less most of the time..lol Report Inappropriate Comment |
