Whey Protein +

Friday, January 11, 2013

Well I do NOT like protein shakes but love this triple chocolate, bought at Walmart. Using after my intense work-outs only, mixed with water.

I am lifting a lot of free weights, hoping this helps?! Thoughts?

It took me the longest time to find the protein shake that I would not gag on lol..... But I needed something and for optimal results, I wanted to take a post recovery shake within 30 minutes of my strength training... I found that EAS whey and Plant fusion mix is truly delicious and packs about 45 g of protein per serving :)

Edited to insert: Free weights rock!! Don't be afraid to lift heavy!! emoticon

Excellent. Post!! Thanks for sharing emoticon

Hi there--Thanks for stopping by my page. I hope that you and your back are doing well!!

I don't quite go for many of the powder shakes and such--I do like Weight Watcher's smoothies. I love creating interesting beverages with them and milk and a variety of fruits and the like with extracts and other flavorings. As for any of those big containers of powdered stuff, well, they make me a bit nervous, ha ha.

I wish you well--take care of yourself!
Gentle hugs,
Sylvia

My achin' back

Monday, March 08, 2010

emoticon For those that don't know, I had back surgery in 2006 and have never been pain free but much much better than before the surgery. Still in need of fusion but putting that off until absolutely needed!

Since exercising my back pain is slowly getting worse. I am focusing on the core, not doing anything to injure my back but oh my Lord!! I am trying to decide if it is muscles aching or if it is my actual discs. Doc on Friday and I think I will lay off the crunches etc until that time.

My knees actually are not hurting but OMG they are crunching, so gross!!!

My goal this week..........NO MORE WEIGHING MYSELF DAILY!!! emoticon

Happy Monday ya'll

i had to make staying off the scale a goal of mine because aI was always climbing on the thing and bugging myself about nothing. I absolutely don't go near one unless I am at the doctor's office or it is Sunday morning before I get ready for church and it has taken a lot of pressure off of me.

I am having a lot of complaining out of my back too--I had the fusion surgery along with a couple of other things in June 2008. As a matter of fact, I commented on one of the team threads about all of the people here at SP who have been having back and/or knee issues--not only on the arthritis and back threads, but all over the place. I am wondering if the winter weather did something to all of us and it is surfacing now. I refuse to believe that my workouts are part of the problem (Mine came from my physical therapists.) I am going to see my back doctor on Friday and pick his brain about this. I'm hoping that I haven't done something new to my back--and I'm going to pray the same for you. Take care of yourself and I hope to see you on our team threads too!

Good for you. That scale doesn't begin to know you. How hard you are working, what wonderful things you are doing for yourself and how much closer you are to being where you want to be. Numbers mean nothing when it comes to your success. I believe in you. You are doing it!

I swear!!!

Sunday, March 07, 2010

My lovely husband has over fifty pounds to lose, that he rapidly put on over the last one year. As I exercised this morning---he criticised my form, how many reps, etc!!!!!!

I wanted to turn around and use him as the punching bag as he laid on the couch!! OMG!! He bitches and moans about wanting to lose weight, then after he is done telling ME how to do my exercises he gets up and yes ladies and gents...goes into the kitchen to fix eggs and sausage!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The smell didn't appeal to me at all, it actually made me work out for another 20 mintues. I just wish he would put the fork down, get off his but and work out with me but he won't. emoticon

I agree with GOGIDGET! You will be the trophy wife and he will realize just how hot you are and want to make changes too....
Hang in there-I had a similar situation and had to rearrange my pantry shelves so DH's "snacks" (cookies, candy etc.) were on the very top shelf where they were not in my face...He still tries to put them on my shelf at my eye level but I move them back up and yell at him!

You will always have support from us. I have been in your shoes before and why someone who loves us does those things is something I just don't get. One of these days you will reach your goal and be beautiful inside and out for everyone to see. Maybe he will catch on and start doing something positive for himself.
BTW, maybe a small punching bag named "DH" isn't such a bad idea, lol!!

My husband was doing similar things with me. He would purposely purchase foods that were hard for me to resist or complain how often I was exercising. I had no support from him, but I had support from friends and SP. I realised it was his insecurities, because he was seeing a diffrence in me. Keep on doing your thing, being positive, focused, and exercising-It is contagious!

My hubby doesn't really need to lose weight, just eat healthier. But I can tell you even though he never said I was fat or criticized me he definitely likes the new me. I lost 50-55 lbs and there are things he used to do before I gained weight that he does now since I lost the weight(like pinch my bottom). So keep going and maybe your hubby will decide he needs to get himself in shape once he sees what great shape you are in. And that's what SP is here for - we'll support and encourage you even if he doesn't(mine doesn't).
