OMG--I can not believe it. My computer got hit my lightning. This is the second one to be killed by lightning. And to top that I had two oak trees to get hit by lightning. All this in a period of eight years. Told dh we needed a lightning rod. So anyway he buys a new lap top--a real small one 9 inches. Hello--did he forget our age. My head hurts from the eye strain!! The old computer will be repaired by gateway but will be about a month. The only cost was UPS shipping $ 40.00., so I guess I lucked out. emoticon emoticon emoticon

wow, that is amazing! Hit by lightning! Well it must be a sign that good things are on their way to you.

I have really been bad in the diet world, but yes no smoking here. Thank you for the message to me, it sparked me to start back on it again. I will be babysitting my grandson for the week so that will help since I will not drink the wine while And oddly, no drinking helps in the food area...hmmm think there is a correllation?

How is your cute little guy doing? Is he all over the flu too?

Take care and keep up the good work...don't go out in any storms though. emoticon

Oh, the joy of being a grandparent. I can hardly remember my life without Jacob. I never realized how big my heart was--I don't think it's big enough for all the love I have for this little guy. My dh feels the same way. He is such a pleasure to be around, the most simple things are so much fun for him. So yeah I have to continue my journey for a healthier life for myself and for dear Jacob. But now it's time to take a nap with Jacob--he wears me out!!! emoticon

    Hi Blues,

Oh I can so relate to each of your comments! My husband and I have 2 grandsons, ages 3-1/2 and nearly 2. They are the light of our lives. We watch them on most Fridays while Mom goes to work. They are 2 of the most active little guys in the world and I love to just forget everything else and play, tickle, laugh, chase and cuddle with them the whole time they are here. I too, find myself absolutely exhausted when they go home, but I wouldn't trade one moment!! They do keep you young and active and I can't think of a better exercise program. Bryce and Bobby are like two peas in a pod and love each other so much that they can't stand to not know where the other is at all times. Living in WA state we have lots of water around and we decided it was imperative that we teach them how to survive the natural environment should it become necessary. Hence, my husband and I have taken on the challenge of teaching them how to swim. So along with all the other exercise they offer us, we go spend an hour or so at the pool. We make an afternoon of it, driving approximately 20 miles to the pool, (sometimes wish we lived in CA or somewhere where we would have closer access) attempting to teach but mostly playing in the water for an hour, getting them out, showered and dressed (another huge effort with 2 soakin wet and by this time hungry, little tykes) then they are rewarded with lunch out followed by much needed naps!! They love to go "swimmin" and it really offers quality time doing something nobody else does with them. They do warm our hearts and offer so much unconditional love that it is one of God's dearest blessings!! emoticon

What wonderful motivation he is for you.
Blues, my grandma was in her 60's when she took on my 2 brothers & I. My eldest bro was all of 6 years old, then me & then my baby bro who was a few months old. Boy did we keep her young and very busy. She used to have a nana nap every day.
I sure do miss her and there is no one on this planet that I could love more than I do her & the wonderful memories I have.
jacob is very lucky, as are you.

No matter the negative or positive results of our Thanksgiving resolve, we can get back to it! (I have been babysitting for 5 days so can't believe i didn't seriously damage my lo-cal diet. ) Thanks for the motivational message too! It helped.
Just remember, It will feel so good to not lug around our extra pounds.. so here we go again! emoticon

Be patient, you are doing great! You didn't put it on overnight and it will take a while to get it off.

But you can do it! What helped me was walking morning and night - at least 30 minutes each time. Plus I started using the Walk Away The Pounds videos - 15 minutes equals one mile!

Anyone can do the WATP videos since you can always go back to just walking in place. Leslie takes it really slowly to start. 4 basic moves that are in every one of her videos so it really doesn't matter which you start with. I went to Amazon and and found them cheaper.

Just keep going, you are on your way!

I have a great way to look at those 15 pounds you lost. Go find a 15 pound turkey and carry it around the store for awhile. Just think you were not so long ago carrying that extra weight with you everywhere. Now put it down and see how much better it feels. Congratulations on all of the good work.

HI Blues, I just thought I would pop in to say hi. I have a similar situation: married 39 years, quit smoking a year ago, and let my weight bloom. I watch my 2 small grandchildren often, so need to get in shape. Don't give up, if you hang in for the long term, you will definitely see the changes. (I have only been serious for a week now, so the advice is for me as well.) emoticonGood luck, B2audacious
