2nd week of the 5% winter-spring challenge!

Thursday, March 07, 2013

1)What new habit you wish to develop?

I would like to prepare what I will eat at work the next day, so I can avoid giving in to the temptations from the bakery and the pastry shops that are near where I work. I want to eat at least two fruit every day and a salad with a variety of veggies with my lunch and dinner.

2) How will you do that?

Stop breathing so that I wonít smell the cheese from the freshly baked cheese pies or close my eyes so I wonít look at the chocolate-filled croissants! Hahaha! Yes, sure! Well, I donít always have time to prepare my lunch or my mum may not have cooked something for the next day. So in this case, I go to the super market before I go to work and get a salad and chicken and some fruit or cereal bar to have with me.

3) What are you doing to encourage yourself and keep on track?

I say to myself this summer I will buy a new bikini as it has been ages since I fitted in one. I wonít feel embarrassed when I go to the beach and I will wear sexy mini summer dresses and shorts. This summer will be MINE!

4) How are you doing day by day?

To be honest since I got that awful cold, I canít say everything was under control. I am an emotional eater and that is something that is not easy to handle. But I am a fighter and every day is a new day so from TODAY onwards I will stick to my plan!

5) What can you improve upon?

I want 2-3 times a week to have milk and cereals for dinner so my stomach will adjust to smaller portions. And of course with regular exercise I will achieve my goals!

6) Do you need some motivation or advice? Ask for it!

Of course I need encouragement and advice! This is the reason I joined sparkpeople and make lots of sparkfriends! You make my days and keep me moving, fellow sparkfriends! All for one and one for all! Hahaha! Together WE CAN MAKE IT!

Stay focused on your goal and fill your day with motivations and positive people who have the same goals you do. Add a little exercise to your daily schedule and you'll start seeing great results before you know it! Those are the "secrets" of success.
And next time the smell of the cheese pies or the croissants reaches your nose, think about all the recent food scandals. Don't try to fool yourselves that these are "clean as a whistle"! Nothing better than the one made in your own kitchen with known ingredients!

First Blog - First 5% Winter Challenge

Friday, February 08, 2013

There's always a first time in everything and this is my first blog and I feel excited!
The first time I joined sparkpeople I didn't make use of all the useful articles, videos, etc to achieve my goals and after a few months I quit. This is my second attempt to stay committed to my goals and thanks to all my sparkfriends I am focused on that.
I have been yo-yoing the last 18 years and I know this is really bad for my metabolism. I have tried diets that actually had amazing results but never lasted long. Emotional eating and lack of exercise since I work long hours in front of a pc, led me to regain all the weight I had lost. Not to mention my self confidence was on ground zero. I neglected myself and that affected my relationships and behaviour towards others. I found comfort in sweets and fatty food. I got depressed.
In 2012 my friend or better my "sister" and sparkfriend Elle showed me the way and was very passionate about Sparkpeople.com. She had already started her journey and seeing her looking great and glowing I got the spark. I hope I can make it, too. I admire her and she supports me all the time. I need to thank her from the bottom of my heart!

So here I am committed to my goals and ready for the 5% winter challenge!
In these 8 weeks I want to exercise daily (20-30 mins), eat lots of fruit and vegetables, eat 5 times a day every 3-4 hours, control my portions, lose 4 kilograms and do the best for my team in my first Challenge assignment!
Let's do it then!

Ready? Get set...go!

That's an awesome, amazing, incredible first blog!
Truthful, sincere and with lots of commitment! And on this last one we're going to work together. I just want you to focus! Make yourself your first priority and above all... BELIEVE! Believe that you CAN do it, that you CAN change your life for the better. I really hope we get to be on the same team but even if we're not, there's nothing wrong with some healthy competition, right?

I'm always here for you!
