Since going to the doctors and finding out I have high blood pressure, I have start tracking my nutrition again. Three weeks passes...and no difference on the scale. This past week I have upped the protein and have lost three lbs. Finally going in the right direction.

I read this earlier today... and ran across an article/tip I thought you might like. If you want to increase your daily protein intake... try adding fortified skim-milk powder to yogurt, cottage cheese, soups, and desserts.
I don't know if your diet allows that, but I thought I might pass it along. Way to go on the weight loss.

I am constantly upping my protein - I think I am less likely to binge if I eat enough protein!

Back on track

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

It sure feels good to be back on track. I had some minor surgery and then went on vacation. Was doing well on vacation, kept up with my walking and eating healthy, but got back and reality hit. Slept in a few days and had no energy. I was actually sore from not exercising.
Now back on track and feeling much better. Your body really tells you when you're not working. looking forward to losing!!!

yes, i know the feeling of hurting from not exercising. Once a client went through her laundry list of aches and pains and i told her that her body was hurting from not exercising. she didn't believe me, but she always feels so much better when she works out. funny how people can't connect the dots.

Best, L

it's gotta be water

Monday, June 30, 2008

Little disappointed today, got on the scale and was up 7 lbs.
Started the provera 3 days ago. Hopefully it's just water gain. I've done so well with keeping within the nutrition limits and walking 45-70 mins a day.

Hey don't let the scale be your tell all to if you are succeding or not! There are a lot of other signs that will tell you this besides the scale. Take your measurements and keep tabs on them as they are big indicators as well. The scale can be ones worse enemy at times. Did you now that you can gain weight but loose fat at the same time. Check around a little and question yourself how often you should climb on the scale!

Good luck!

I drink 10-12 8oz glasses a day. I did add sodium and fiber to the tracker, figuring with those 2, I probably covered my bases. I guess next I'll start the strength training. Didn't want to try to change eveything at once.

Question for you. How much water are you drinking? You need to get in at least 8 cups a day. I know that you are just starting out but you can start off slow with the water. Start with 4 cups a day then increase your water after a couple of days. There is a thread that Mrswiggly posted about water check it out.

Don't get discourage you are just starting out you will see a change soon. Just keep up the good work on meeting your nutrien goals. I hope you have included sodium in your tracker because to much will make you retain water.

That's an awesome goal!! Even with weight to lose, there are so many things to be thankful for. too many people never even realize the importance of attitude... they don't see the effects it has on them or even those around them... congrats to you!! you are now prepped for success.
