Sometimes it's hard to come up with a blog topic

I workout at the Buckley Air Force Base gym, it's free for me as long as my hubby is a reservist, okay, nothing is really free - the drive is awful.

Been going there since I started BLC last year - not every day mind you.

They have this lovely display case in the front with all kinds of things in it, water bottles, lanyards, coffee mugs, t-shirts, hooded sweat shirts....

I said I unofficially collect coffee mugs, people buy them for me, from friends kids, to my hubby's travel collection - I love them all

So when I saw the one at the gym I wanted it to add to my collection but I was afraid it would be too expensive...I used to work as a civilian for the military and am familiar with the write up

So my dear hubby went to ask...they said, "Oh we can't sell those they are for our incentive program." So hubby got all the info on the incentive programs and I joined the running and bicycling programs. If I had known this last year I would have a hooded sweatshirt by now but I love my mug because I earned it, and it took me less than a month, what's next? a pen a lanyard, who knows, but I know running works for me in more than one way.

What is taste worth? (calories)

So today I went to the store to get some sick people foods

I was getting Jello (with sugar) when you are sick you should not be strict on calories

I noticed regular puddings, so here I must interject my previous experience

When I started the Biggest Loser Club Diet they had this pudding recommended that was 100 calories per little container, I actually found one that I liked and it became my night time treat

But my store and others in the area stopped carrying the one I liked and none of the others were good enough to be a "treat"

Now here's today revelation...regular pudding has only 20 calories more for the same serving size...yes I did verify

And you know what?

I will run an extra tenth of a mile or whatever 20 calories is in my run to enjoy regular pudding

I again have a delectable treat that I can count on and count in my plan!

    When sick you need vitamins and minerals, make decent soups and give the artifical foods a miss.. They have no real food value.. The body needs food items it can pluck the items it lacks getting sick in the first place..

    That's very interesting. I buy the diet pudding. But the tapioca and the other flavors look so inviting. I'll check the labels next time. Thanks for the tip.

Things change

I feel like the Vixens team that came from BLC is just falling apart.

I was hoping that once the show started up again that it would all come back together.

When I first stated that I thought that I could not make it without my team.

This week my husband has been helping me

Talking to me about those things that I used to talk to my team about

He is even watching the show with me and expressing things that I was used to hearing from my team

He helped me through my run today

He helped me pick good food...he even cooks to help me

He scolds me when I do something really stupid...yes team I do need this sometimes

So even if the Vixens goes by the wayside I will still do well

No I am not leaving, I still have challenges to overcome and helping others helps me too so I will be here pushing and prodding as i can but mostly I will be praying for you all with all your challenges will remember that you too need your team.

  Thank you for sharing this blog. I wasn't on any other team so I don't know how it was before. This is the 1st time for me watching the BL show.

Is the show different this year? I have nothing to compare it to since I never saw it before......What is different with the team this season?

I believe that any participation you have with a team is a good way to share information, getting and giving support and most important it gives you the forum to work at your goals.

You have been a good team member and I appreciate knowing you and sharing our stories, up & downs and supporting each other through this journey.

Never give up you are worth all the hard work and effort you put into this journey.

Where is the click?

For us to make something a habit it must click with us in some way.

Like my afternoon workouts....it fits, if I skip it I don't feel right like I am missing something because I am

That will make it a lifelong habit

But like paying bills...there is no easy way so I don't want to do it and therefore resist it being part of my life
