Wow. I've been so busy lately. It's about time that I sit and write a little blog.
In the past month I moved to a new city, switched gyms, committed to a half marathon in February 2014, and had my first Body Pump experience. I also bought a great little device called Body Media (as seen on the Biggest Loser) and I absolutely love it! In fact I love all of these things and the people in my life.
My weight loss is finally starting to pick back up again after a few months of plateau (mostly due to being inconsistent). I set a new SparkPeople goal to be at my final goal weight by the half marathon in February. It's a challenging goal, but it's absolutely doable with a lot of hard work, dedication, and belief in myself.
For memorial day weekend, I'm seeing a lot of family friends that haven't seen me since a lot of my weight loss/inches lost occurred. I'm looking forward to seeing them (in my new dress) and feeling that sense of accomplishment...in fact, I already feel that.
I'm SO close to ONE-derland...I'll make sure to blog again when I reach it. Only 5 more pounds to go!

Wow...that was tough. I huffed and I puffed and I....never stopped.
I started the 4th week of C25K today and even though I wasn't able to do the 3 minute jogging intervals 4 times, I came pretty close. Sometimes I would do 1 minute jogging, 1 minute walking, and then jog the other minute. Sometimes I could jog 2 minutes and walk 1 minute...and sometimes, I could jog the entire 3 minutes as planned.
But when it really comes down to it, I did 1.62 miles in 25 minutes. Not too shabby for a woman who couldn't jog barely jog for 30 seconds 1 month ago.
It's all about the baby steps and I am still proud about my progress. If I need to repeat this week of training I will. I'll do one step at a time, one minute at a time...until I reach my goal!
Never give up!

"It's all about the baby steps."
This is what I heard when I first started with Sparkpeople 2 years ago, but it never really hit me until 2012.
I've accomplished so much this year. I went back and read some of my blogs and one of my goals was to lose 100 pounds in 2012. Well, it's September and I'm just reaching 40...and guess what? I couldn't be more proud or happy with that progress. I had ups and downs with my thyroid, stresses with graduating college, but I never let it get in the way of my goals.
I took it one day at a time. One week at a time. One step at a time...a baby step that is.
2-3 years ago, I would have read those blogs and been upset and disappointed with myself. I would have continued negative talk and hindered my weight loss with self-sabotage. This time, I looked back and saw how much I actually achieved. I saw how much I overcame, how much I learned, and how much more confident I am today than I was one year ago.
So for all of you that are just now learning about baby steps, I hope that one day you come to this conclusion as well. It's better to have taken 1000 baby steps than never-lasting large steps.
As I recreate my vision collage tomorrow, I will keep in mind all of the goals that I did achieve. I won't focus on the one's that I didn't. In fact, they will be included on the new collage, because no goal should ever be forgotten; rather, those goals should be re-evaluated to my new life and mind.
I will reach my goal of 100 pounds and I will be happier doing it slowly than I would be doing it quickly.
