Since I've reached my goal weight and I'm working hard to maintain my current weight and not lose it...I don't worry about how many calories I burn while exercising. I may start tracking it since I'm doing Insanity now so that others can get an idea of how many calories I'm burning as an example for themselves. Not sure yet...

OK so I'm decided to track my calorie burn and other stats. I track on my Garmin 305 because it's the bomb. :)

Fit Test Results:

Time: 22:08, Max Speed 52.7 m/h
Calories Burned: 121

When I went to do my fit test, I didn't feel like it. I did the best my body could do at that moment. Had I not decided to do Insanity then this day would have been a step aerobics day for sure and not a circuit one because I just did not feel like going high impact. Anyway, those are my numbers and I am not happy with them because I know I could have done A LOT better if not for mood.

I'm sure next Fit Test will be better. :)

Oh and I'm switching my days off from Sunday to Tuesdays because my husband usually has his doctors appointments on those days and I can't get my workouts in.

Shaun T is very motivating and I like how the pace of Insanity goes so fast. See my speed above? That's fast. My favorite exercises from the Fit Test are Power Jumps aka Tuck Jumps which I learned how to do from Cathe and Push Up Jacks...pure love.

ody Fat...Indecisive...Rant

Today I sat in a corner of my home gym for three hours. Three hours. I kid you not. I am kind of bummed that Summer is right around the corner and that I still have so much work to do on my body. My mind is in the right place, but some how I feel so unorganized.

I am currently debating on whether I should go ahead and start P90x now since it is one of my goals to start and complete. If I give P90x my all and the entire 90 days I can probably reach my goal faster, but I'm not so sure. I've been watching results on Youtube from those who have done 90 days and from those who put in a year of P90x. If I keep doing what I'm doing...circuits, drills, straight strength and plyo for a year by rotating them all around I think I can reach P90x results in a year just by doing what I'm doing for a year.

I'm also wondering if I should just keep going with Tom Venuto's advice and cycle my carbs and just keep working at burning the last 10% percent of fat I have left to burn. I am not big on working out for more than 40-50 minutes a day anymore. I really don't think that sh!t is necessary if you ask me. I work hard in the home gym. I bust my butt. I push my body to its daily limits. I've been doing circuits and they have proven to be my best friends when it comes to blasting fat.

I've also been doing some Zuzana workouts here and there and those work for me as well. I do Zuzana workouts to work on my speed, to become more fit. I'm still slow, my endurance is up there, but not as high as I'd like it to be.

I do Yoga now and I've always thrown in Pilates to help me with my balance...core strength is very important to me.

Plyo is my thing. Some people complain about the impact, but it is a serious calorie burner and I love that.

I guess it's time for me to move onto P90x...what do you guys think? I think it's the hardest program on the market today. Believe it or not, but CLX is not hard for me. I've done it for a month, got bored with it. I get the same results from doing 30 Day Shred...all three levels back to back five days a week and running 3 miles a day, three days a week. Rubbish. I hope nobody jumps on me for this, but if they do I'm standing by what I say because these were my results.

I did Cathe's STS and I must say that I love that program. It's not a good program to do if you want to lean out because this program is a bulking one for sure. STS makes your muscles big period. Muscles big, fat still there. The program has to be balanced out with a good cardio program mixed into it for one to get lean results and unfortunately, STS doesn't have a good cardio program to add to it. STS Cardio, to me, does NOT go with the STS program and if somebody says it does then that's straight donkey dust. Cathe came up with a roation for STS along with STS Cardio and it's a joke. It's simply not enough calorie burn and if you can get through the hardest workouts she has (which most can't - the HIITs and circuits) then you will want to do those workouts at least 3 - 4 times a week.

Anyway...I'm looking for some guidance here. Should I just nip it and invest in 90 days with Beachbody or should I just revamp my programs and refocus myself on what I'm doing because it is's just taking hella long time or so I think. I am not discouraged, I have not fallen off the wagon and I will never give up...but sometimes I need to just stop and step back to think.

Lastly, I'm going to be going to school full-tim in the Fall and if that doesn't take away from my workouts I don't know what will. I plan on doing Zuzana drills everyday - 20 minutes or less to maintain my gains and progress. I'm thinking if I do P90x now I can shed the last 10% of body fat, do STS 3 month rotation again and by the time Fall comes around I should be muscle exposed...

OK..rant is over. No, I'm not crazy. I just needed to get that out even though I was all over the place with it. Thanks to everyone who read this mess. Ha! Please share your thoughts. Thanks!

  One guy that I work with has done insanity and P90X he says that he would do insanity over P90X... Just a thought

    I'm thinking you have tried sooo many things & stay true to them to the end to see the results. Try the P90x & see how it goes. Let me know what you think because I think my FiancÚ just bought it haha. I'm considering it. But are you suppose to mix that with cardio?
Try the P90x, you're so good at evaluating everything!

    Hey girl you know I don't know heck I just ordered CLX LOL! Well I do have 30 Days or so to return it if I don't like it but I would say go for it. Go ahead and try P90X I guess I was a little afraid of it I dont know why and I figured CLX would be a good start for me will see. As for STS I am glad you said that its good information to know about the bulking part. I say go ahead and try it. P90X P90X P90X

    Well Im glad I read your rant (smile) because I wanted STS soo bad and was on the fence about getting it. I spent the money on CLX and was not happy with it. I was unaware that STS would bulk me up, I want to lean out not bulk up so thank you very much. Oh by the way go for the P90x, and keep us up to date with your progress.

Btw, I agree about STS, I didn't get that one because its primarily a bulking program and I really don't need to bulk, I'm good at putting on muscle thats the easy part.

What you have accomplished this far is amazing. I'm just starting STS for the first time and I'm trying to figure out what I can do cardio wise to balance the strength. I wish I had Insanity instead of P90X. I agree with wannabfit34 though, if you have been doing the same workouts for a while, P90x would change it up for your body. ? I'm new so I know little, just wanted to give you my support and thank you for your inspiration!

    I would say give p90x a go sometimes we just need a shake up in our workout. Your body may be getting used to your workouts this would be something a little different that would give you energy and a change of pace. I had great results with p90x and was doing a 2nd round and kind of felt I was in a rut so I picked up Insanity to change it up, after I finish Insanity then I will probably do a hybrid of the two to give my body a different challenge yet again.

My March 2010 Goals

Since I've been done with losing weight for a long time I have not been on my game like how I should be right now. I haven't gained any weight, but I am not as diligent about keeping up with my previous regiment. So, for the month of March I will bring back some of my good habits like...

- no white bread, no white rice and no white pasta
- no soda, not even diet
- no chinese take out at all
- track what I eat every day in my Iphone (it's easier this way using the Lose It! app)
- track my exercises in my Spark Fitness tracker
- wear my heart rate monitor each time I go to workout
- workout every single day, no rest days
- burn as much fat as possible
- build as much muscle mass a possible
- try to eat as clean as possible
- read at least two diet ad fitness articles a day
- do 20 pushups and 10 pullups everyday

And that's about it. So these are my March 2010 goals. All of this is doable because I did it before with no problems for long periods of time.

I May Have Beat HBP With A Little Help

I haven't taken my blood pressure in a while, but took it today and it read 132/83. WHAT???!!!! I am on cloud 9. I've gone from taking 4 high end blood pressure pills a day to currently one minor water pill. My readings, when I was unhealthy, were around 230/120 or 242/122. No more excessive water weight, migraines that send me to the ER in the middle of the night, nausea, throbbing in the back of my head and numbness in my face. Simply amazing!!! I just had to share. I must say that this past year has been AMAZING!!!! I wore a bathing suit without hiding under a towel for the first time and I can fit into medium and small sized clothing -- whoa! I am so proud of me!

  good luck to you! sometimes you really can outrun your genes. I'm dealing with borderline hypertension from my mom's side and am hoping with more stringent diet and exercise I can have these types of results :)

  Even though I'm much older than you Blackandi, I keep my eyes on you to keep myself in check. Currently I'm on 5 blood pressures and one depression, I was told I will probably be on them the rest of my life, but I'm determine to prove them wrong. I got rid of the man, getting rid of the weight, only positive cross my threshold, through my ears and out of my mouth and to strive for greatness for 2010 were my New Years resolutions. I have been as high as you and last check, last week was 137/79 (even the nurse had to give me a hug for those numbers and I really needed it too, no mess, no stress and your blood pressure will be less) so you can see that high pressure was left over into 2009 and I hope to continue in the right direction because I want to live for another 59 years if possible, if the good Lord willing and the creek don't rise. (LOL) I want to grow up to be just like you, so keep doing what you doing cause I'm rooting for you as well as myself to meet my goals this year too. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for all that you do, to help motivate and inspire us oldies but goodies, sparkpeople and the newbies too. Again thank you..........Teasingtan aka Patricia emoticon

    That's great ANDI! I can't believe your BP used to be 230/120! That's just NUTS! Glad it's down. I've gotten mine down to... not as high as your though. I got mine down from about 145/90 to 112/74 -ish.
