Finally found the words to express...

Wednesday, December 02, 2009

...how I feel about making small goals. I always make big goals for myself even if it seems very unattainable at the time I make it. When I do this, I always achieve them. I have achieved so much career wise, fitness and diet wise and attitude wise since I decided to change my life back on July 12, 2008.

The quote that I read today in Burn the Fat Feed The Muscle expresses how I feel about setting small goals...

"Thinking about a big goal you've never achieved before is always oging ot make you feel a little uncomfortable and afraid. This discomfort makes most people pull back into their comfort zones. Don't let the fear of failure or THE FEELING OF DISCOMFORT prevent you from going after what you really want. Always step forward into growth; never pull back into safety. Refuse to sell yourself short. Raise your standards." --Tom Venuto

I really like that "feeling of discomfort" part a lot. Ever sit into a static squat and punch until you can't punch anymore???? A lot of people are afraid of "discomfort" like that. Sad.

And then I ran into this quote...

"Make no small plans; they have no magic to stir your blood to action. Make big plans, aim high in work and hope." --Daniel Burnham

It's really good to know that I was on the correct path from the beginning. Very good bK!

Thank you for the Welcome to the Shred team. I needed this blog today. I'm ready to start the Shred and was reading comments of those saying how hard it is. I think a little discomfort will be needed to get where I want to be. I have to work on setting those smaller goals also. Thanks for writing.

Yes, the book goes into "ultimate" long-term goals, 12 month goals, 3 month goals, weekly goals, daily goals and goals set to beating your personal best. A lot of people don't think they can achieve big goals and they are wrong.

What I mean by big goals is saying you're going to make overwhelming changes and you do it. Venuto goes on about using your imagination and that thinking about your goals all of the time will get your meet your goals. Dream big! Dreaming big jump starts self-confidence and self-motivation.

I hope I've cleared things up!

Love the Quote. I am make small goals with bigger goals in mind. I think it is the teacher in me. That there is a larger goal and to achieve the large goal you need to take smaller steps to get there. Thanks for sharing.

And in a nutshell...

Monday, November 30, 2009

"I'm probably the only person in the industry who will tell you losing fat is NOT easy! The reason no one else wants to tell you because "quick, easy, overnight and effortless" are more marketable. "Hard work, blood , sweat and tears" are not marketable - hard work scares people away."

I am Spark Motivator of the Day...Again!

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Eeeeek! I don't know if this happened yesterday or today. Gah!!!!

And of course I can't find out where everybody saw this info...last time I had to send a Spark Mail to one of the people who commented on my page about it. She was so kind enough to forward me the email where it was seen. I guess I'm going to have to go this route again. Not sure why I'm not getting the emails. I signed up immediately after becoming Motivator of the Day the first time for the Daily Spark emails....I didn't get that fancy email or anything.

Anyway, I want to thank ALL of you who alerted me by leaving me comments on my Spark page. Thank you so so much! I'm happy to be inspired by you all and to inspire many of you.

Keep working hard and you will reach your goals. Stay focused and kick yourself if you have to.

Alright, I'm off to send a Spark Mail to someone who may have kept that email or who can tell me where to go see it. Oh and it's not on the main page of Spark if I log out and it's not on my Start page either. :)

Thanks again!!!
