My 2011 Stats = Success!

Wednesday, January 04, 2012

Happy New Year!

Clothing Size Stats from 1/2011 to 12/2011…
I can say that I’ve gone from a tight size 8 down to a loose size of 6 which is awesome so that’s my clothing size stat results for last year. My 2011 started off rocky, but by April I had gotten it together.

Weight Gain / Loss Stats from 1/2011 to 12/2011 (wasn’t trying to lose weight, but it comes with fat loss)…
1/1/2011 (184.4lbs) – 1/31/2011 (189.2lbs)
2/1/2011 (190.2lbs) – 2/28/2011 (183.5lbs)
3/1/2011 (185.3lbs) – 3/31/2011 (181.3lbs)
4/1/2011 (182.2lbs) – 4/30/2011 (175.8lbs)
5/1/2011 (175.4lbs) – 5/31/2011 (172.6lbs)
6/1/2011 (174.0lbs) – 6/30/2011 (171.8lbs)
7/1/2011 (171.0lbs) – 7/31/2011 (172.8lbs)
8/1/2011 (170.2lbs) – 8/31/2011 (166.4lbs)
9/1/2011 (167.0lbs) – 9/30/2011 (166.6lbs)
10/1/2011 (167.2lbs) – 10/31/2011 (166.6lbs)
11/1/2011 (169.0lbs) – 11/30/2011 (160.0lbs) – I have a good excuse for this! bodyrocking 5 days a week kills muscle mass gains & fat as over doing high intensity interval training (hiit) should.
12/1/2011 (158.4lbs) – 12/31/2011 (159.6lbs)

1/1/2012 (159.8lbs) – for those who are curious. I brought bodyrocking down to 2 to 3 days a week in December. What a difference it made.

Measurements…
I should have taken measurements for the entire year of 2011, but I didn’t. I remember taking them in January of 2011 for P90X, but I can’t find them. If I find them I’ll update this post.

12/1/2011 / 1/1/2012
Arm (left) = 12 / 12.5 and 13 flexing
Arm (right) = 12 / 12.5 and 13.25 flexing
Neck = 13.25 / 13.25
Bust = 33.5 / 33
High Waist = 31 / 28 – BAM!
Waist = 32.5 / 30 – this was the area I was hoping to see change on the most. Woot!
Low Waist = 33 / 30.5 – icing on the cake!
Wrist (left) = 6.5 / 6.5
Wrist (right) = 6.5 / 6.5
Hips = 37.75 / 37.5 – for me glutes seems to be the hardest muscle to build…been feeling it has for the past year even though I’ve been putting the work in. :(
Thigh (left) = 23 / 22.5
Thigh (right) = 23 / 22.5
Calf (left) = 14.25 / 14
Calf (right) = 14.5 /14 – and yes, I have been neglecting this area altogether – FAIL!

I wanted to add that incorporating yoga into my routine 6 days a week has made a huge difference for me. My balance, flexibility and patience levels have increased dramatically and plus I’m addicted to it. Stretching so you won’t break is so important when it comes to building and shaping the body you want. I am very happy with the results I got in 2011. It is obvious that I replaced fat with muscle judging my weight and measurement stats. Wow, I did what I said I was going to do back in January 2011.

You can find more about me, the way I get fit, the way I eat and how I lose body fat on my blog over at blacKandi.com. :)

Great Job. I have to ask doing interval training can stall your weight loss? I am wondering bec I was doing a mom and baby boot camp with lots of core exercises and squats and I guess just everything. My weight has really stayed the same all month. I went up and then went down and this last week I started to loose again.

Interesting about the excessive bodyrocking and the difference it can make.

Are you participating in their 30 day challenge for May?

Healthy Fit Girl Is Currently Rocking A Bloated Tummy

Friday, April 01, 2011

Yep, I have bloated tummy syndrome at the moment and it's annoying at best. It started when I switched back over to my cutting regime about a month ago. I cut out the carbs because I'm cutting fat. I got rid of basmati rice, sweet potatoes, whole wheat bread and whole wheat pasta...so I'm not sure if that has had something to do with it.

Warning...TMI!

I eat whole foods and mostly raw foods and before this bloated mess I was going to the bathroom three times a day and I'm used to that and have been doing that since I began my weight loss journey. I no longer work toward weight loss because I don't need to, but I am working toward killing my body fat.

I did some reading and I think that I may need a detox to get rid of belly toxins. I thought I was detoxing naturally (by eating raw and plus eating whole foods period and not all of it is raw), but I'm thinking I have some major toxins in my tummy, parsites, bacteria that needs to come out. I thought about doing the Master Cleanse for 10 days to see if it would move out that mess. I drink 96oz of water per day as well so I'm not lacking in that. I'm thinking that toxins have taken me over because my skin is not the best and I suffer from adult acne now and it's horrible.

Anyway, I'm going to be going through a serious detox for the next 10 days starting Sunday if I do decide to do 10 days of the Master Cleanse. I'm at a point where it's not cute being thin and rocking a gut. LOL! Pray for me ya'll.

I'll report back what I did and what my results were in a couple of weeks.

I am literally full of crap!!! Ha! Bye ya'll!!!

The Spark People Experience

Giving credit where it's due...

Life since I lost 60lbs and kept it off has been an amazing journey. I blogged about my 2 Year Journey to Wellness called "2 Years And Still Going Strong" on my blog at http://www.blackandi.com/2010/07/two-years
-still-going-strong-repost/ on my two year anniversary in the making of a better me. I talk about how I reached my weight loss goals and what it took to actually get there.

There were many avenues I took on my journey and I think that the best avenue I took was joining up with Spark People when I started my journey and then revisiting the site, loving it and riding with it ever since. I think that if it were not for this site that I would not have became or stayed successful. Motivation is key to keeping one focused on the goal, fighting for the goal, and to reach the goal. I joined a bunch of weight loss sites and forums at the beginning of my journey and I found my motivation here at Spark People and today I still find it a motivational place and now that I think about it, it's why I come back everyday and I stay on on it all day. LOL! I'm literally on here all day.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Spark People for being here, for being FREE to use (although I'd pay to use it if they started charging), for having all of these wonderful tools and resources to help with weight loss, fitness and attaining motivation, to having the best coaches around --

*hugs and thanks to Coach Nicole for creating those exercise demos and those 10 minute workouts where I started getting my feet wet with fitness)

*hugs and thanks to Coach Jen for getting back to me whenever I have a problem with the Spark Community forums and for personally answering any questions I may have when I have them.

*hugs and thanks to Coach Tanya for being there for the High Blood Pressure team and personally guiding us through.

I also want to shout out all of my Spark Friends (you all contribute to the new and future me), to all of the lovely people on my teams and who are also on other teams I participate in (I've learned a lot from you all) and also to those on here who have inspired me in so many ways and who still inspire me to do better. The power of the Spark Pages is incredible. Spark People are an amazing bunch of people.

Lastly, I'd like to give credit to where it is due and say that Spark People helped to change my life. I feel like I am part of something big when I'm here. I feel like I can do anything and be the person I want to be just by being here. I know there are others who feel like me here so what I'm saying is real.

Thank you Spark People!

Congratulations on all of your progress. The Spark experience helped me to be more successful. I am at my goal and just working on maintaining it. I think for me, the reason why Spark was so helpful to me was because I always felt as if I was on a pedastal and peopel were watching me. I'm glad though, and I feel like a million bucks. Good luck on your continued success.

I would like to start incorporating workouts I can do at home to mix things up (I run 3-4xs a week). Any suggestions? I don't typically like "girly areobics"....something that incorporates strength training, dancing, etc...

This Week's Home Workout - 4/26 - Update!

Thursday, April 29, 2010

SEE MY LAST BLOG POST FOR THE SCHEDULE!

Today my upper body is SORE! I don't know if I'm going to be able to do Kelly Coffey's 30 Minutes to Fitness Weights today. If I do, I'm going to have to lay off the upper body work. Woo weeeee...that's what I get for becoming a cardio baby for the past few weeks. DOMS city over here!!!

QUICK REVIEWS! --for those of you who work out at home like me!

*Squeeze Stronger, by Tracy Effinger, is a fast paced, hardcore, full body workout...love! Tried it for the first time Monday and it rocked!!! Put me sore the next day. One thing I didn't like about the workout is that it doesn't have enough back work. The legs, AB and core sections rock! Moves fast!

*Defining Shape was OK, but I like Tracie Long's style of workout so I completed the entire workout with flying colors using heavy weight. Tried it for the first time on Tuesday. It was not as tough as some of the workouts I'm used to doing, but it's a very effective one. One thing I didn't like about it is that it doesn't have enough chest work in it. Moves fast!

*Cardio Barre Advanced, by Richard Giorla, is fun fun you guys! Check it out if you don't know. It was the first time I ever did barre workout or a workout like this period. The time went by so fast. This workout is very good for building core strength as well as tightening your tush and your legs. Lots O' reps! Rep city! Love, love! A great full body workout! Moves fast!

Tonight is Kelly Coffey's 30 Minutes to Fitness Weights...I did this workout before and I like it...the active rests are annoying, but needed. Ha! If I can't do this one with heavy weight I'll drop down to a 2lb pair of weights just to get through the upper body. I will pump out my push ups though...need the chest work.
