Motivation...

Thursday, April 14, 2011

Well I have worked out on the elliptical every morning for 30 minutes this week. I feel amazing. I am not sure what to expect with this. I don't know how to calculate calories burned but it shows what it thinks I burn...then I put it (time on the elliptical) in here and its almost doubled calories burned. IDK all I know is I am sweatn like a whore in church. :D I love the way i am feeling. My legs look amazing I must say. And its even toning my arms some. I am gonna start incorporating strength training at some point but I just can't right now. No excuses....its just not happening. I am trying to watch what I eat and make healthy choices and drink my water. I am hoping this motivation stays for a long long time as I have lots of weight to lose. But I am happy about the minor changes I am seeing already.

I wish I could get my Hubby to take his health serious but he seems to just not care. I just work out every morning and he sees me before he leaves for work and I am hoping he will see how much better I am feeling and join my club. I am trying to be a better role model for my kids (15 yr old daughter, 5 and 4 yr old sons). I have noticed if I buy little debbies and fruit the little debbies are eaten first. SO I buy fruit and display it where everyone can see it and get to it and guess what? It gets eaten :D I add healthy things to each meal - lower calorie things, whole wheat, the kids drink diet soda or water now. Very little juice.

I want my whole family to be healthy!!!!

Anyway thanks for reading.....

Good job. I must say I tried an elliptical once - for 5 minutes and it was a LOOOONG 5 minutes. I felt like a clutz on it. I will stick with biking and walking.

I too am seeing my kids make better choices. I have a 13 year old daughter active in sports. I pack her lunch for school for 1 week and then make her pack it for a week to see if she makes good choices.

You did an amazing job and you should be proud of it. Don't worry what you hubby does at this moment, you should take care of yourself first, and you'll see everything else will follow. Again, great job!

WOW!!! Ellipticals don't play around....

Thursday, February 10, 2011

My hubby bought me a Nordictrack E5vi elliptical. We got it put together last night and this morning I did one of the preset workouts. 20 minutes... it shows 926 distance (no clue what that means) and I burned 229 calories. I didn't have to put in my weight so how does it know that is all i burned? I am trying to do some research and figuring but I am having no luck. On my fitness log I put 20 minutes on elliptical and it shows 419 calories burned. I am just a tad confused. I hadn't played around with the console much so maybe all my answers are there I just haven't found them yet :D

Anyway - great workout... lots of sweat... muscles are sore... feels like its gonna be a good day!!!!

Control, Alt, Delete ---- REBOOTING

Wednesday, August 04, 2010

SO I have been off the wagon for a couple weeks... gained some weight..blah blah blah..... decided there is no time like the present to get off my buttocks and get motivated to lose some more weight! I know this works... i lost 30 pounds and I wanna lose more. I just need to stay motivated and when I screw up I need to just re focus and get back at it.

I am gonna do more outside playing with my boys.... thinking of taking them to the basketball court and showing them how to play... they know but have never been thru all the motions.

I love being active, don't mind sweating, don't mind healthy foods so why in the world am I having such a hard time staying motivated? Heck if I know but I'm giving it another whirl - CUZ I'M WORTH IT!!!!!!

Thanks for reading and Good Luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You are definitely worth it!

Basketball - a great plan! I actually peeked in the gym the other day and added dribbling around the court and shooting to my list of fun activities to try over the next few weeks.

Thanks for inspiring me to try it even sooner!

Good luck. I made it to the gym 3 days so far but I didn't put out as much effort as I could have. I've been in a slump and I've had a hard two weeks and have also gained about 8 pounds. So good luck! You can do it!

Changing my life....

Saturday, May 22, 2010

So i have been thinking about running...well jogging....for some time. I found Couch 2 5K thru my BFF Amanda and attempted jogging a week or so ago... didn't look so great LOL hard to keep up with the time etc.... well after digging alittle more around on SP i found there are podcasts.... runningintoshape.com Carli got my kinda music set up to help u each week and each run...it is awesome.. i listened to a couple of em as they were downloading...awesome! SO my plan starting Monday is go sign up for the Blue Plum 5K run....which is 2 weeks away.. i can walk 3 miles in around 45 minutes and I really wanna improve on that... I know I will be walking most of the 5k but its a start right? I WILL NOT FINISH LAST and I WILL FINISH!!!!! My friend Kim has vowed to do it with me and I am excited about it !!! I am really looking forward to running a 5k.... maybe by the thing Kingsport puts on late summer... i will have to find out about it and commit to it....

I am just ready for changes... as i workout in my room my sons 5 and 3 watch me and sometimes join me :D i love it!!!!!!!! I just wanna be a better role model for them. Take care of myself and show them what not to do tho my life was full of the wrong stuff up til recently and still those "Bad" foods show up...but i take it in stride and realize it will all be ok...... I have NEVER been a believer of SLOW AND STEADY weight loss however I am now!!!!!!! I eat less automatically and have alot more pep in my step LOL.... anyway just wanted to put my thoughts out there and see what they look like... not to bad haha....
