I Did It!

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

I survived holding my first Children's Church! It went very well and the kids seemed to like it. The subject was an easy one, it was on prayer and my prayers were answered, I survived! We had about 12 children that attended.

Another good thing is that the sun is back and I was able to take a walk today outside!

Betsy that is way cool! I used to teach first graders in Sunday School and I loved it. Children are like sponges and they just soak up what they enjoy. I hope you are going to do it again! I just know they loved having you there! God doesn't make mistakes and you were at just the right place He wanted you to be!! Keep it up and you will find that you will learn a lot too by teaching them!

This is really cool--how fun! Nothing like being around children to get back ahold of one's faith like a child...Enjoy!

Fall is in the Air

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

It was rainy here again today and the news keeps talking about drought! I exercised inside again but I did pop outside to take some pictures of the trees!

I love this time of year even though I am not looking forward to the time change! I do not like to come home at night from work in the dark.

Have a great evening!

My favorite part of fall is the first time the ground freezes hard. After that, I'm ready for it to be summer again! LOL!

What we really need to celebrate is the end of Daylight Savings Time!!!
May your garden be filled with abundance to share.
May the leaves crunch under your feet.
May the sun shine fill your heart!

Isn't it beautiful. I was enjoying the changing colors and fallen leaves piled under bearing trees on my way home from my in-laws today. What joy! Thanks for sharing.

Great pic! I, too, hate the time change as it seems dark all the time, especially when Mr. Sun doesn't want to come out. Oh well, this is the time to start reading some good books or to get more movies from Netflix!!

Doctor's Appointment

Monday, October 26, 2009

My doctor's appointment went well. I will not have the test results for at least another week. According to his records I am down 31 pounds since my last physical (last year) and he asked me how I was doing it. I have told that man about SparkPeople 3 times now but it never sinks in! My blood pressure was 120/82 and he seemed okay with that too. They are testing my Vitamin D levels (what a surprise) and I also got my flu shot. Now I have to start working on losing 30 pounds by next year!

  Good for you. Great appointment.

I told my dr. about Spark People too and he has mentioned it to a couple of hundred other patients. I don't know how many joined. But if you can get your dr. to look over the site, I think he'll be impressed.

I really enjoyed the Vienna Choir Boys. They were so cute! The youngest looked like he was 7. They really sang nice and we had really good seats!

I remember seeing the Vienna Boys Choir when I was in college and really enjoying it! Now, when I think about it, those "boys" are now in their 40's! Just makes you wonder what they are up to these days!

Little Rainy Today

Saturday, October 24, 2009

I walked at the mall today because the weather is a little gloomy. It is warm but very windy and stormy here and there! I met my brother and sister-in-law and my nephew and niece and I brought my other niece with me so it was a crazy group of people! The girls were driving me crazy because they kept touching everything. But at least we got a bit of walking done.

Isn't that just like a little girl?? Reminds me of me when I went shopping with my Mom. I never got anything because we just didn't have the money but I sure did love looking at and touching everything!
