I really don't have much to blog about but I haven't made a blog in so long I decided now or never.

Thanksgiving was really nice but long. We drove from NC to NJ and it took us about 11 hours with all of the traffic. My cousin had 40 relatives for dinner and he did a great job. It was nice to see all of my cousins, cousins kids, Aunts and Uncles. Quite wild with about 20 kids running around!

The good news is that I did not gain any weight, the bad news is that I did not lose any weight either emoticon I also have not been doing very well with my exercise either but I plan to get back on track. It seems like too much is going on with concerts and Christmas decorations but hopefully, things will slow down a bit again.

I have been walking to a Leslie Sansone DVD and I really like her. She is not real cheesy and not too crazy. For the first time in my life I am actually liking some sort of exercise!

I still think that spark people is the greatest site I ever found.

  


A New Week

I did not do very good this weekend with my diet and exercise. It was rainy and cold so I did not do any walking and for some reason I could not get myself motivated to exercise inside.

But it is a new day and I plan on walking at least 1 mile today during my lunch break. I dropped one pound last week and that sort of depressed me. I wish it would come off just a little bit faster.

I am taking this cholesterol thing seriously because I do not want to be put on any more crazy medications.

I am walking and exercising every day, and I am watching everything that I eat and I am eating oatmeal every morning for breakfast and an apple a day. I am also taking red rice yeast pills which is supposed to help lower your cholesterol. I am hoping that when I go to see Dr. Moore in February that we will see my cholesterol much lower.

I have found that it is much easier to watch my diet, drink my water and exercise on the days that I am working. It seems like the weekends get so crazy that I skip breakfast and then eat too much for lunch. That is going to be a new goal for me to make sure that I eat breakfast every day.

    Betsy I am going to join the Cholesterol Team that you are on. I need help in that area also. I am also so busy during the weekend, I would get so caught up in getting everything in order around the house and would finally realize that I didn't eat anything.

We need to tie a string on our finger to remind us to eat because its....breakfast/lunch/dinner or snack time.

Well, I went to the doctor today to discuss my lab results and I now have high cholesterol. He is giving me 3 months to try and control it and if it is not normal he is planning on putting me on medication. This has really depressed me but I am going to do everything I can to fix my cholesterol. I just reserved a book called cholesterol down which someone mentioned on one of the posts and I will continue to exercise and eat healthy. At least my blood pressure was normal!

how did you end up with high cholesterol now?

I will pray for you that all your stats go in to the right direction from now on!!! :)

Myself I am having a hard time to respond to blogs or Message boards lately, my job is very consuming, especially timewise. And since I sit on the phone and computer all the time at work, I don't feel like being on the computer at home too.

But I am thinking of you all the time, and will be praying for your health and that you can stick with the healthy lifestyle. I know I have my problems with sticking to it! :(

    I can so relate to what you said. Dr gave me 3 months before I go back to see if I have it under control. I am hopeful that it will be better as I have changed so many of the fats etc that I consume & also excercise daily. Good luck with your next test and keep up the good work you are already doing.

Well, I went to my doctor's appointment and she was actully happy with my 10 pounds lost! She told me that I need to eat more, did you hear me? My doctor told me to eat more food! She told me that 1200 calories is not enough. She also told me that I should try to exercise for longer periods of time and that yes, I need to start strength exercise. So, overall I think things went pretty well! My blood pressure is now normal!

That is wonderful that your doctor is impressed with your weight loss. Did I hear you right? She wants you to eat more? But that is awesome. You are my inspiration. Daily I come onto different Sparkpages and get the motivation that I need on any given day. Your page is one that I stop by daily. Keep doing what you are doing, because you have me trailing behind you.

    Yeah, she did not agree with the amount of calories that it says. I told her that I was eating 1200 a day which is the low number and she says it is not enough.

Well in the Nutrition Tracker it tell's you how many calories you should eat according to your weight.

I am happy your BP is normal, and that your hanging in there
