Crossfit Week 2

So I started a second week of crossfit. Monday's work out was tough but I felt good as I could do all of the components ( 300m row, 70 jumps with the rope and 5 squat cleans) 3 reps total. Tuesday was also hard but still I hung tough with reps of 15 box jumps, 8 clean ups and 5 leg raises. I completed 3 full sets and 10 box jumps within the 18 mins allotted.

Today was not my best work out as it involved push ups and pull ups and I suck at both. I did ok on the deadlifts. I will celebrate the fact that I did get up at 5:00 am to work out as this was the only time that worked today and made it to 3 workouts this week.

Tomorrow I will do better.

My Cross-fit experience started this week.

So I took the leap and tried cross-fit. The instructor was nice and he made me feel ok with my lack of upper body strength. Using a very large green strap, I was able to eeek out 3 pull ups and 3 tricep dips. I completed the word out of the day (WOD) which consisted of burpees, long jumps and squats. I went home and soaked in a hot bath and some Epsom salts. Worked wonders for my legs, my shoulders were still quite sore.

Today I returned after a day off for another round. I managed some modified push-ups and three more assisted pull ups, did 10 wall to ball throws ( 10lb) and some squats. For the WOD I completed three sets 11, 5, 3 of squat cleans ( 35 lbs) and tricep dips. I am already seeing progress on the dips. I cant squeeze in another work out this week.

    Whoo-hoo!!! I hear that Crossfit is awesome! My bf's a level one instructor & has been trying to convince me to "cross" over, lol. Admittedly, everyone I've seen who has been doing it consistently appears to have great muscle tone , so there must be something to it. Congrats on your new endeavor!

Ready to be the before picture

All, I have may slow and often stalled progress as I try to get back in shape. I have decided that I am ready to move toward the after part. Time to safe good bye to the muffin top and thunder thighs. I am ready to start the gun show.

Between my vacation, my cold and a work trip I have been out of the gym all year. Tomorrow I am jumping back in. The goal is 8 miles but I will take it on hour at a time.

    Start by giving Thanks to the Lord for your Healing, that you are on track again...and you are on the mend from your cold...It's only Up, up, and loosing from here on out....Remember God's Plan ...Fresh water is pure and tasty, Fresh fruit and vegetables are loaded with vitamins and minerals and are Delicious cooked or raw... emoticon And in between you can do the celebration dance to get in extra steps!!!! YaY......Before you know it, you will going at the 8 miles in no time ;-) and you can take a spinning class!!! They are so much Fun!!
