Stalled for the moment

Saturday, January 05, 2013

I entered 2013 fully motivated and determined to get it done. I was on vacation until 1/3 and arrived home feeling kind sick. I spent half of Friday at work and returned home to climb into bed. My colleagues even commented on how crappy I looked. Glad I came in though, wouldn't want anyone to think I was trying to sneak an extra vacation day. I have finally graduated to the couch. My plans for the gym will have to wait for another day.

I guess the plus side is I have no appetite so I am not gaining weight.

There's something going around here as well. I was feeling sick between Christmas and New Year's and I was in bed one of the days. My supervisor told me that her husband had the same thing. I hope you feel better soon.

Bye bye 200

Friday, December 21, 2012

Today, I saw 199.6 on the scale and my heart skipped a beat. I know that efforts cannot be defined by the numbers on the scale, but I have been working out hard for awhile and have not seen much change. I joined weightwatchers and lost 6 pound, my friend lost 15 and she doesn't work out. I remember when my weight creeped up to 194, then 198, 202 and finally 206. I am going to keep going and I hope that 200 is gone for good.

Welcome back to Onederland! I hope to be there with you by spring. Who knows why some lose and others don't. Don't be in competition with anyone else and just take it off a pound at a time the way you know how. Weight Watchers is great! Have a great holiday and keep on sparking in 2013!

Finally some progress

Tuesday, December 04, 2012

It has been rough as all year I have wanted to lose some weight, I have begun working out pretty consistently but the scale has stayed firm. I finally decided to try weight watchers. My friends kept pressing my to try diets before as they lost lots of weight on various programs with special foods. However, since I travel alot I need a plan that works with regular food. I must admit that I am still struggling with keeping track of my food but the whole experience has been eyeopening. for example I learned that one dinner at an Italian restaurant cost all of my daily points and most of my weekly ones too. Guess what, it wasn't that good or worth it. I have a new perspective on how many foods are full of calories and I have been avoiding them. I have lost about 6lbs in the last 6 weeks. Slow, but steady progress and I will press on!

Your eating habits are key to your weight loss! I saw an equation that really hit home for me: 80% Eating; 10% Exercise; 10% Genetics! When, I saw this equation, it gave me a different perspective on my weight loss!

So, keep up the good work because you can do it! Keep watching your food choices and continue to make your wise decisions!

Moving and shaking.....

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Last week I watched the guy on the treadmill next to me with envy as he pumped out 4 miles in under 40 minutes. Today I stepped my game up running a 9.3 min/mile pace for 1.5 min intervals. I must say at first I didn't thinking could make a minute but I did so I pushed for another half. I did several intervals like this a completed 3 miles in 40 mins, a personal best. I am looking forward to my next run!
