Picking up the pace

I am picking up the pace.

I must say, I am pretty proud of the fact that I have been active nearly everyday since January 2, 2012. I have been doing a number of different activities from Wii Fit, to Jillian Michael's Wii games and other games on the Wii. I bought Coach Nicole's 28 day boot camp DVD just in time for the weather to improve and for me to move my workouts outside so I haven't used that DVD too much. I signed up for the Spring Into Shape Bootcamp and completed three of the four weeks. (I went on vacation and was only able to walk while I was gone) I recently purchased a very nice treadmill and will be using that in addition to my regular outside walking. I have participated in a 5K walk and actually won my age group. I have another 5K scheduled in a couple months that I am looking forward to. I also will be playing softball starting next week. (My favorite sport by the way)
So, as you can see, my 10 minutes of activity per day has increased. I work two jobs and have just decided that my health and fitness is just as important as my work if not more. I am having a blast getting back in shape. Maybe the pounds that I want to lose will start to fade away too.

My mantra is... Just keep moving.

Well, I have been using Sparkpeople.com since February. Not very consistently I might add. The more I use it though the brighter the light bulb is. I am finally starting to get the hang of tracking what I eat and more importantly realizing that a little physical activity is better than nothing and it is starting to make a difference.

I am trying to not do too much too fast. Right now my goal is to create a "streak" of water drinking. I am on day two. emoticon

My other goal is to do at least ten minutes of physical activity every day and start a "streak". I am on day two of that as well.

I feel pretty good about how things are going so far. emoticon

    You are doing it right. Start with one thing and make a habit of it. Then start another new habit. Small steps are the best. Yes, any bit of exercise makes a difference. It is always more than what you were doing before. If you plan on 10 minutes it eventually do it longer.
