Inability to Maintain my Sparkpeople daily posts.

Monday, June 07, 2010

I have become complacent for the last couple of weeks on posting to my food eaten and my exercise done. I have not been able to lose any more weight. I have maintained the weight I had July 2009. I have lost some inches though. My pain has increased, maybe, because I am trying to work more. I don't know, but, I am very unhappy that I can't shed this last 35 pounds.

I can relate, especially when pain is involved. You have to go slow and increase slowly. I consulted with my Dr. when I had to slack off of exercise after losing 30+ pounds last summer and fall. For me if I have to take something to help keep me comfortable then I need to take it. What I am finding is that I still have pain and weakness after I exercise, but my recovery time is getting better.
I agree with the previous posts, in that logging food keeps you on track. For me even if I haven't eaten healthy food, I log it in my tracker. This helps me if I am not seeing the results that I feel I deserve.
Keep at it, go slow, because we all know that slow wins the race.
Good luck on your journey.

Junebug is right....just start over and start slow. If you have continued to exercise and it's still not coming off - consider changing up both your cardio and your strength training a little. You body gets used to doing the same things and it gets complacent too!!!
Bottom Line: Don't give up now!! I know you can get rid of the last 35!!!

Sometimes it's hard to get motivated to log in our food...it can be a pain, but it sure does help to stay within our calories and nutrition goals. Exercise is tough because it is so easy to put it off until "later." And, sometimes, "later" never comes! Been there, done that! After being complacent for awhile, it's like starting over, so, start over and slowly start exercising again. Don't try for an hour a day, start at 15 minutes...then add on.

Setting New Goals

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Well, my 12 months are almost up and I haven't met my goal. I am still on prednisone and the weight won't come off as quickly as I would like. My exercising is also not increased as I would have liked due to my pain and decreased stamina to walk very far without rest. My cholesterol has gone up to 168 and my blood pressure seems to be increasing slightly too. I have a dilemma about my medication with my Rheumatologist telling me I will have to stay on the prednisone and my cardiologist telling me that I need to come off the prednisone. He is giving me 6 months to try to get my cholesterol under control without medication. I am staying well under the daily limits of cholesterol in my diet but since I can't exercise more with the intensity that I need to, I feel that he is going to want me to take a statin to control the cholesterol. I have just started a calcium channel blocker called procardia that is for blood pressure initially but the orthopedic has prescribed it for the RSD (CRPS) pain and it has helped the burning sensation. emoticon

Weight Away!!

Monday, May 18, 2009

The weight hasn't come off as quickly as I might want it to but I have lost inches. I have almost lost enough to wear a 16. This is good since I was in a 3X. I can get the jeans buttoned, but I don't feel comfortable in them yet. My husband is now exercising and it gives us a chance to talk while we exercise together.
