What a super day. Started off with a 66-mile Group ride. As the ride began, my helmet strap came off and I had to stop to fix it. However, in my eagerness to fix it, I kept on missing the loop. After all riders had departed, I was still trying to fix my helmet. Finally, I approached the LBS that was present and they helped put the strap back on. So, I started some 10 minutes after everyone else. Needless to say, I was booking. I began passing folks and catching up with the different groups. At mile 20, I was still seeing folks in front. At mile 40, there were just sporadic riders. At mile 60, I could not see anyone ahead of me. At mile66 I discovered that I was the first one in. It felt so very good to have passed everyone, in spite of my 10 second handicap. Afterwards, it was Cuchi-Cuchi's turn. I took her to the hotel where she works (JW Marriott) to visit some friends that she hadn't seen in a long time. Since it was her half of the day, we went on to a buddy's Italian Restaurant and hung out for a while and talked bunches. We then headed home and the rest is history. Overall, both Cuchi and I had an incredible day. HOOAAA!!
