Not much to report today, good session at the gym even though I had to cut it short due to having to get back to work. Food managed ok, had a couple of glasses of wine though. Yoga was also good, went with hubby tonight to local bicycle shop and bought a new push bike, can't wait to test it out, picking up tomorrow.

Everything in the garden is looking rosie emoticon

Seeing Results

Woke quite early again this morning (before the alarm), I seem to be doing that more and more these days, can't quite work out if it's because I'm full of energy or not.

I stepped on the scales again this morning not really expecting any change but was absolutely delighted with another 2lb loss, all this portion control, healthy eating and exercise is really starting to work. I don't feel as moody these days nor quite as tired in the afternoon after lunch, I'm really loving it.

I started another new class today, body combat...Wow!! I thought zumba was hard but that was even harder, I had sweat running all down my face, neck back and other places which I shan't mention but it was a real adrenalin buzz, I could feel the energy depleting but still managed to keep going until the end. Decided to have a sauna after the class and I'm so glad I did as I felt a lot more relaxed and my muscles didn't ache as much afterwards.

Took my daughter into Sheffield after a quick healthy lunch from the sports centre (pasta salad), normally I'd be going off on one about it being inconvenient and getting all stressed but it was a lovely drive and I enjoyed spending a bit more time with her even if it was only half an hour.

Pilates class later, I know the instructor will make us work tonight, she normally puts us through our paces, so that should be good. I can actually see the results now too for doing all this gym work and exercise classes.

Well I did 2hrs at the gym again this morning after work. 30 mins interval training on the treadmill, 3 sets of 30 reps weight machines on my upper body, 15 mins on the cross trainer, 3 sets of 30 reps weight machines on my lower body, 3 sets of 30 reps with dumbbell kickback's,
3 sets of 30 reps dumbbell triceps extensions, 3 sets of 30 reps squats with a 5kg powerbag, 35 mins on the powerbike vigorous . Really felt it when I had finished but felt better after a 5 min cooldown on the tread mill and a 10 min stretching session. I always feel much better when I'm done.

Had a healthy lunch but my son had made a victoria sponge with fresh cream and jam and wanted me to have a piece (it's the first cake he's ever made without anyone helping him), so I obliged and had a 63g piece...OMG!! it was 216 calories just for that tiny piece, I hadn't realised just how many calories that kind of cake was and I used to be able to eat a whole one to myself in a couple of days, it just shows sometimes you really don't know what you're shovelling into your body, talk about being misinformed, I am so glad I found SP and know now. I'm so grateful to SP.

Anyway when I'd picked myself up off the floor after finding out how many calories were in that tiny piece of cake, I got myself ready and went off to my zumba class, I've got to say I love that class, they really make you work from start to finish and I sweat more doing Zumba than when I'm doing my gym workout but it gives me a great sense of achievement knowing I've done it and everyone is so friendly and fun, I always look forward to it.

Large fruit salad for tea with yogurt me thinks.

  


Another Fit And Healthy Day

I was going to use today as a rest day but started to feel a little bit agitated and after umming and ahing either to go to the gym or get on the push bike, it had been raining on and off all through the early morning and I didn't fancy getting wet but neither did I really fancy going to the gym as I'd been yesterday and am going tomorrow, so I eventually decided to get the push bike out. emoticon

I had a lovely cycle ride from my house in Brimington, Chesterfield to Rother Valley Country Park, Sheffield by way of part of the Chesterfield Canal and part of the transpennine trail, it's roughly 16 miles there and back plus another 3 miles around both of the lakes, I'm so glad I did it, it was lovely and peaceful with only a dozen or so other people around on the journey their and back, it felt great to feel the wind in my face and be in the great outdoors, alone with my thoughts, sorting through what I'm going to do for the rest of the day, what to have for lunch and dinner, remembering the cycle rides we used to have with the kids when they were little, listening to the birds, feeling the rain on my skin....I felt amazing.
I did the cycle ride there in 45 mins including around the lakes and 50 mins back including the steep hill just before I get home. Wow!! I'm so thrilled to have bested my time emoticon emoticon

It absolutely threw it down for about 10 mins on the way back and I got drenched but I still loved it, it actually made me laugh...I love the rain, I had a rain coat around my waist but I didn't stop to put it on I just thought, Oh well, I'm not made of sugar I won't melt, what a feeling. emoticon


Hot shower when I got home and then a healthy lunch. A few months ago I couldn't have done that, I don't think I would even have wanted to but now I'm buzzing.

Fire safety training at work later 5pm - 8pm, oh deep joy!! What a time to do training like anything's going to go into my brain at that time of night, what were they thinking??? emoticon

Loving The New Me

Another good 2hr gym session today after work, 30 mins on treadmill with incline intervals, weight machine 3 sets of 30 reps each, 15 mins on ski machine, dumbbell workouts, 3 sets of 30 reps each, 30 mins on powerbike no:5 incline & setting 6, absolutely done in but really enjoyed it. emoticon

On track with eating and drinking plenty of water. emoticon

Buying healthy foods is now actually becoming easier, I'm not even tempted to eat biscuits or cakes anymore even when hubby is stuffing his face with the crap. emoticon

Had a lovely compliment from someone I used to see at the kids school when they were at the juniors, she said she thought she recognised me but said she wasn't to sure if it was me as I'd lost lots of weight. emoticon emoticon
That put a big smile on my face and set me up for the day. I'm really starting to love the new me.

    Wow you are doing a fantastic job!! Good job outta you and shame on Hubby, but glad you are loving the new you enough that you do not want to do those bad things anymore. Love the compliment!!!!! you have to be walking on cloud 9!!!!
