Going Well

Thursday, October 18, 2012

Just seem so busy these days, haven't had time to blog and I've missed it. Daughter has brought home a new kitten and I'm the one that's ended up looking after it even though she knew we didn't want any more pets just yet. Don't get me wrong it's a gorgeous little thing but I could really do without running about after a kitten. I'm calling it Kitty Cat at the moment because I can't think of a suitable name for him.

Lots of exercising to make up for last weekend and hope fully this coming Sunday as I'm at a wedding, I can finally get into a dress I bought 3 years ago and it isn't to follow.

Lost just under a pound this week, so I'm quite chuffed at a little weight loss despite my very naughty weekend away. Another 2lb and I'll have hit one of my targets emoticon

Starting a new fitness class tomorrow evening, something called Bokwa it looks fantastic but strenuous and complicated, I'll let you know on tomorrows blog.

Doing well with my nutrition and fitness tracking, so really pleased with that.

All in all it's going well.

Great But Naughty Weekend

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Had the most amazing weekend with hubby at Whitby. We did loads of walking, 20 miles on the Sunday via the coastal route into Robin Hoods Bay in the rain mostly. Didn't do any tracking of any kind this weekend but the site didn't have wifi, so even though I took the laptop with me I couldn't use it.

I ate healthily Saturday evening but had a couple of glasses of wine. I was naughty Sunday and had fish, chips and mushy peas but I didn't eat it all, I left most of my chips a bit of my fish and some of my peas, hubby had ice cream but I didn't, unfortunately Sunday evening we went into the club on the site and I had a few glasses of wine and a bag of dry roasted peanuts while playing darts and pool.

Monday I was very very naughty, I had a veggie breakfast then when we got into Whitby I had a small piece of choc fudge brownie and white chocolate cheesecake, I didn't eat lunch as I was still full from my breakfast and the bit of cheesecake. We came home Sunday evening and we stopped at a café on the way back, I don't know why but I had another piece of cake (lemon drizzle) why, oh why did I do that? Just to add insult to injury I had an Indian curry (veggie)

To be fair I still got loads of exercise through walking to, from and around Whitby on several occasions other that didn't get chance to exercise but I got back to it today.

Did a 2 hr 30 min gym session this morning and stayed on track with food. No sweet things. Don't know why I get so tempted when I'm away, it's a working progress.

4lb Loss

Thursday, October 11, 2012

What a day, I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 4lb this week emoticon

I'm ecstatic but knackered, walked to the gym this morning, did 40 mins on the treadmill, 3 sets of 20 reps on the chest press machine, 30 mins on the powerbike. Body combat for 1 hour, which was a killer emoticon

Walked back home, had a healthy lunch tidied up a little bit, packed the motorhome ready for the weekend. Walked back to the gym and did 1 hour pilates and walked back home again, so I walked 10 miles in total with a backpack on.

Had a healthy dinner, managed to stay in calorie range today but still not managed to get all my protein.

Nice hot bubble bath in a bit and then early to bed.

Things Are Becoming Easier

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

Another good gym session 2.75 hrs this morning after work, a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Stayed in range on my tracker but still didn't meet my protein goal emoticon

Prepared dinner for later, ran a couple of errands in town, bought a pair of sweatbands as a treat for being consistent with my workouts. Treated myself to a small beauty treatment too.

Had a good zumba session t, they're starting a new class called Bokwa next Fri at the health center so I'm thinking of trying that out too just to see what it's like.

After zumba, I had my hair done as it was ready, at least I look almost human now emoticon

My best friend came round for a couple of hours and we had a milky coffee, she had biscuits and I wasn't even tempted, I've got to say that it is becoming easier to refuse sweet things, it doesn't bother me as much as it used to. In fact a lot if things are becoming easier.

Hot bath and bed.

Struggling With Protein Goal

Tuesday, October 09, 2012

Went to the gym early today as I wasn't going to be able to get out on the push bike, I managed 40 mins on the treadmill and 30 mins on the powerbike. Had to take son in law for an interview today (he'll know on Friday if he's got the job or not). He was in there for a hour and a half, good job I took a magazine to read.

Popped to the supermarket and got some root vegetables as I forgot to pick them up when we went shopping last night despite them being on the shopping list, hubbies fault he will insist on distracting me and asking me questions when I'm trying to concentrate and I know he thinks he's helping but it's just annoying.

Danced about the house while cleaning this afternoon, that always gets the blood racing round the body emoticon

Managed to stay on track with tracking food and water so everything is going well apart from struggling to hit my protein goal without going over on calories, need to do some research to find out which foods are high in protein but low in calories, I do peanut butter and legumes but it's still not hitting that goal.
Bubble bath and early night tonight

I have the same struggle with protein. Here's a SparkPeople article re: non-meat protein sources that might be of interest.

Have a great day!! emoticon

Why not plan and enter your dinner first, the night before perhaps, making the protein the central part of the day, then fit breakfast and lunch in to stay within your calorie allowance. You have to plan it to buy and cook it anyway, it's simple to add it too.

Cottage cheese! Unless you're vegan... I'm an omnivore so I don't face the same challenges for protein.
