Reward Time!!

Well, its almost the end of the month and i have decided that it is time for some special " me time." As a mother of three, wife, and hospice nurse I give alot of my time to others. I remember my nursing instructor asking me why I wanted to be a nurse and my reply was " I want to help people ". Even at 21, it was always about someone else. Now, at 40 there is always someone needing something from me. LOL.
Today, I am taking time out for me. I am going to the salon to have my highlights touched up. I am celebrating today because ......
1. I have lost 19 pounds!
2. I have exercised at least 20 minutes a day every day this month.
3. I am making healthier choices.(my family is too!!!)
4. I have reorganized my kitchen to make it easier to pack lunches and fix meals.
5. I now measure and weigh my foods to control portions.
6. I am now easily drinking 8 glasses of water a day.
And most of all, I am celebrating because I am me. I am free to make choices , I am free to love, and I am free to Live life to the fullest!!! emoticon

Oh my gosh! I am soooo excited! After much shopping and research I ordered a pair of new shoes.(What a name . DOESNT THAT SOUND LIKE A DISEASE OR SOMETHING? LOL) I decided it was time this morning after hobbling down the hallway when I got up, resembling frankinstien as he stumbles around. Of course the store didn't have my size so I ordered them online. I am hoping they come in before the weekend so I can give them a good workout at Rocky gap state Park!!

I am soooo happy today.! While I was having my morning coffee , I decided it would be a great time to reflect on my goals and the recent changes I have made. **I have consitantly used the tracker to keep track of my food intake.
** I have adapted a practice of keeping my water bottle "Red" with me at all times.This has definatly helped me keep track of exactly what I am drinking. I have to drink three a day so I try and drink one by noon, one by evening and one before bedtime.
**I have met my goal of 20 min daily of exersize. emoticon
**I am no longer in the 240's I hit 220's today!!! emoticon
** I reorganized my kitchen so that my digital food scale and mesuring tools are handy and are easy to use. I am on my way to the new me!!!

I refuse to feel guilty

Today marks a milestone in my journey for better health. Today, I do solemnly swear not to feel one ounce of guilt for the ice cream I ate. after much consideration I decided "yes Tricia, you can have that ice cream! and you deserve it. " I measured it, I counted it and I ATE IT! end of story. Why is it that when you are overweight you think that you can't indulge once and a while!! Now i need to take my new found companion, Red(my water bottle) and go on my scheduled date with The Beast(my elliptical machine). LOL. Go Me!!! emoticon

  Yes, you can have ice cream!

Just stopping by to say thanks for the encouragement and to offer mine to you. I eat chocolate about 3 days a week, but the difference between b4 sp and after sp is that the amount I eat in 3 days is still probably less than half of what I used to think a portion was.

  If you can't enjoy a treat once in a while, what's the point. As long as you keep exercising and watching what you eat most of the time, you will be fine. Never feel guilty. It doesn't accomplish anything.

Well the birthday festivities are over. back to normal routine/normal . haha . My husband is running a 5 mile race tonight. It is his third race and he seems to enjoy it. This is a charity run . I think it is supose to be a little cooler this evening. I bought "the spark" yesterday as a birthday present to myself. having trouble putting it down! I highly recomend it. Tricia
