Nice try! I have ALMOST got it, too.. but not quite.. I can lift it, but not spin it, because mine is too heavy to get into lasso. Turning while right before you lift it and as you lift seems to help.

I've been hooping for 7 years...just make a small turn in the direction of your hoop when you lift and you've got it!! Gogogo! emoticon

I know why I live in the wrong country. I am a pen clepto and I'm pretty sure I can expand that to Hoop Clepto. That's a pretty sweet hoop you got there......

That's it--just turn in the direction of your hoop and bring your arm straight up. You got it though, just try turning.
Audrey and I need to come over and do a hoop vlog with you. That'd be fun! OR, I finally plan another hoop jam in the park. I know, I know!

I was hooping for 30 minutes. That was the only time I did what was even close to a lift up.

Not a very Sparky week. One day this week will bring about a hooping video/exercise montage. Wait for it.

5'10" and carrying that weight on your frame would be so hard.
Are those Mrs.BGD's feet?! Hello, Mrs. BGD!!
50, woah...that's young. So young. I'm sorry.
Oh sheesh, I wanna "go" when I can't wear my zebra print legally anymore. Honestly...so, I figure I better save up for plastics cuz our family lasts 'til their late 90's as well.
Depression most certainly plays into over eating (sleep deprivation, and insecurities...for me).
LOL, "Hoitie Toitie?! WOO HOO!! Have fun with the colour work. Your place is great looking!
A.D.D. vlogger, I love that you went on an Interior decorating trail. I'm going to be doing that to. I didn't "Hoitie Toitie". I walked into Walmart and asked him which colour? Which was stoopid. I knew what I wanted. He knew I knew what I wanted.
My two middle boys share a room. They need to learn to share space with others. It's good for them.
AH C'mon!! The rambling was fun!
I still wish we didn't get this dog. I am SO over him. He stinks.
He does make me feel safe. How could he not make me feel safe? He's like 200 poounds and eats people.
Loved the visit.

You can and will do this.
One day, sometimes one moment..sometimes it's ONE BREATH, but, YOU can and WILL do this healthy change for yourself.
You are worth it.

"HE" said so and "He" doesn't lie.

Overbese--LOL!! Sorry dude, but that was funny.
Wow, I think that's the first time I've ever seen a pic of your dad. 50 is way too young.
I'm sorry, but I have to agree. Uncle Fester. You're right. And holy moly, every time I see one of your wedding pictures, it looks like you were 12 years old.
I know you're struggling with this, but I think you're a stellar example for your kids. I think if your kids grow up to be exactly like their parents, the world will be a better place.
2012 fixtures AND a color consult. You guys are hoity toity.

I have NOT disappeared

Thursday, April 26, 2012

I will not go gentle into that good night. I will continue to fight against my cravings, even when I give in. I am trying to live in the day, focus on healthy habits TODAY - ignoring what happened yesterday and not planning for tomorrow. I really need to hold on to that because the past day or two has not been good. Overeating both days. That fire that motivated me is waning. My mood is shifting and I'm doing my best to hold on, but it isn't easy when the neuro-chemical crap starts to fluctuate. Mrs BGD and I are trying to be creative and she's doing a great job encouraging me to keep going.

In other news, I have reached 100 days in the countdown to my 2012 vacation to Disney. Going with some folks who are not only family in Christ, but some of my best friends. We invited them under the ruse of helping with the kids, but really just thought it would be AWESOME to have them along. Okay, we do need help with the kids (the 11 month old, with all her naps, is going to make Disney touring pretty difficult) - but we also do want to live parasitically off their energy and zest for life.

But now that 100 days have been hit, it is time to plan 2013! Mrs BGD has wanted a two week vacation for about as long as I've known her. So we're going to do a cheap week in St Augustine (we have a returning guest discount at a condo down there) and then do a four night DISNEY CRUISE! This is going to be so awesome. And only 479 days away.

Weekends are not my friend

Monday, April 23, 2012

I have less food available to me at work...that must be it. My willpower wilts in the onslaught of tasty morsels. Looks like I got through the weekend at only +1. Not too bad and better than last weekend.

I'm doing well on the exercise front, I'll be at seven days in a row tonight. One step at a time. To quote Dory "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming."

The house thing appears to be a bust. We can't get enough out of our current to make it worthwhile. We could finance more of the loan, but that isn't our style - not to pass judgement one anyone who has financed 100% or more. It just isn't us.

So, we still have this desire for more space - I've called a couple of general contractors to see how much an additional room would run. The only question would be how to get the excavating equipment and concrete truck into my backyard...

The campout apparently went awesomely. However, when he got home he was a mess. They kept him up till 10:30 and got him up at 7:30 the next morning. This did not sit well with him. He was so tired that he had a stomach ache. But it appeared to be a great time for him and we will probably enroll him in a day camp + one overnight combo that is going on this summer.

It can be very challenging to stay on track when you're home all day. How was the campout? I was gonna text you this morning, but figured I'd wait for a blog.

The Weekend is Upon Me

Saturday, April 21, 2012

The weekend is upon me, and boy do I have some work to do! There are some dings in the walls that need to be patched, a firepit in the backyard that needs to be finished, and a yard that needs to be mowed. I also need to start looking up storage units - why? Because it is possible that we may be starting to entertain the notion of thinking of moving.

Our neighborhood has gone down hill of late; it seems like whenever someone moves out someone worse moves in. House values are plummeting and there are three foreclosures on our section of the block. I'm worried that if we don't get out now, our mortgage will end up higher than the value of our home :-(

Also, the rumor on the street is that there are two drug dealers, as well as a kid who has been caught trying to set an abandoned house on fire, on our street. So, as much as we love our HOME, it might be time to change neighborhoods.

As for my health, I continue to lose. Not as fast as I did the last time, but maybe that is for the best? Too much too fast just causes me to burn out. I've started an exercise streak! I'm on day 5. Rather than setting some goal, I'm just looking at today "I'm going to exercise today" - not "Okay, I'm shooting for 361 days" The latter is just too daunting. One day at a time, one day at a time.

Oh! My oldest is currently being dropped off at camp. Mrs BGD won the honors. She'll be picking him up tomorrow, too, because I'll be leading our small group at church. Probably for the best because I might freak him out with how nervous I am today and, if he isn't as good as I know he can be, I'll be pretty upset tomorrow. But I'm worrying over nothing. He's going to behave like an average 7 year old boy (which drives me crazy) and he'll be fine.

My 8 yr old boy kept me up last night and there was no sleepover included..sheesh, they're worrisome creatures!

Hey, aren't you in the same neighbourhood as SparkNinja?
We're planning on someday in 'fairytime' making our way down there to y'all's hood!
Sounds like your neighbourhood is mimicking our but at yours we'd get more options for housing...

He's gonna have so much fun. Good call for having Mrs. BGD do the honors, though.
You're gonna move to the township, with everybody else, aren't you? :(
Good job on the streak!!! One day at a time is definitely the way to go. Took me four or five tries to get past where you are right now. Go, go, go!
