Please keep me in your prayers

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Hello my SP Family
I am asking everyone to please keep me in your prayers. I have been under spiritual attack for the last week or so and I need you to stand with me in prayer so that I can continue to do the work that God has ordained me to do. The enemy has been attacking by body with sickness for the last couple of weeks and it seems that all kinds of problems are coming at me from outside and inside. I rejoice in these trials because it means that God has something big on the horizon and satan does not want me to be in position to get it, But I know that satan is a liar and that I will have the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul said in 2 Thess 1:11 "11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:. I ask that you continue to pray for me and stand with me in prayer so that I may continue to walk in His calling and to do the work of faith with power!

Thank you all so much
In Jesus Name
Greg

Surely he has bore our griefs

The chastisement of our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

That happened to me last summer and I finally figured out what was going on... you will have to re-subscribe to the team emails you want to get. If you will notice in the bottom left hand corner of the email it says: "Clicking this link will also keep you subscribed to the Blog. There may also be other entries or comments, but you will not get any more of these notifications until you click on this link, which will re-subscribe you to the Blog."

So if you do not click on the "click here to view this" link, you are automatically "unsubscribed" to that thread's email notifications and you have to resubscribe...

I hope that helps!

Memory verse for the week of 01/31/10

Tuesday, February 02, 2010

Hello and praise the Lord my friends.
Welcome to the Memory Verse for the Week of 1/30/10.

Father God , thank You for another week in which to give You glory, honor and praise. Please lead us in the study of Your Word and enrich us with Your Wisdom.
In Jesus Name
Amen

This weeks verse is from Philippians 1:6

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"

I don't know about you my friends, but sometimes I feel as though I am not where I should be in life and that I have not done all that I should have done in my life. Even in my spiritual life, I feel I fall short sometimes. So when I read this verse, it does my heart good to know that God is still working in my life and that no matter what I think or how many doubts I have, I can be confident that God is going to do what He promised in my life. The Bible is full of the wonderful promises that He has made to us and He tells us all we have to do is to trust in Him and to stay the course until He comes back and we will receive the crown of life and all the good things that come from trusting in His Son Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 55:11 tells us "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Isn't that a wonderful word?! God never speaks anything that He isn't going to finish and that goes for His children too! So no matter what you are going through today, remember that God promised to do a good thing in you and His word never comes back void.
Thank You Father for Your Word!
In Jesus Name
Amen

Thank you for the encouragement...i was having a very depressing day but God uses my brothers and sisters in Christ like you to lift the burdens that Satan wants to so easily ensnare us with!     Amen. My feelings get out of whack sometimes too. Your lesson goes right along with Joyce Meyer's lesson today. We can triple our joy by focusing all our expectations on God and his word instead of expecting from other people. The same is true of of ourself if we focus on what we expect to have accomplished instead of letting God accomplish, instead of expecting him to accomplish His will. It's great isn't it. Totally liberating.

Memory verse for the week of 01/17/10

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Hello and Praise the Lord everyone. Welcome to the Memory verse for the week of 1/17/10. I know it is a little late, but better late than never, right? LOL

Father God, Thank You once again for bringing us all together to share Your Word. I pray that You bless everyone who reads this word and that those who read this and don't know you as Savior will be lead to know more about You and Your Son, Jesus Christ.
In Jesus Name I pray
Amen

This week's verse is from James 1:12: "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

This a great and reassuring passage to all Christians who are going through issues that may be causing us to be tempted to not believe in the power of God.
When we think of temptation, we think of falling into some really bad sin. Like when I used to think of that word, I used to think of things like lying, stealing, drinking, fornication, you know, bad things like that. But that is not the only kind of temptations there are! There are the temptations we can fall into when we are going through hard times and we don't know how to deal with these trials. The one temptation that we all can fall in to in times like this is to forget who God is and try to take care of these problems without Him. You know what I mean. Instead of taking our problems to God in prayer, we try to handle the problem without Him. Instead of going to His Word for advice, we go to those in the world. God is a jealous God and He wants to be first in our lives and He should be. Proverbs 3:5 tells us "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. When we do as the Bible tells us, we can't go wrong, but sometimes the problems that we go through leads us to the temptation of doing it ourselves.

And then there is the more basic temptations we go through once we see we cannot handle these problems on our own. Once again, instead of trusting in God and seeking Him, we go to physical comforts. We go get that drink to calm our nerves or we go outside to smoke that cigarette. Or for most of us here, we grab that pint of rocky road or throw a couple of extra slices of pizza on our plates. We fall into the temptation of thinking that these things will give us comfort and as with all temptations, it ends up being false.

But when we place our complete trust In God through His Son our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, We can endure these temptations. Please read the verses 12-18 in James 1. It will give you a good rundown of why we fall into these temptations. We fall into these things when we are drawn away from God and do things in our own way.

But Jesus is our loving Shepard and He will not let any of His sheep be lost. Just as a sheep hears the voice of its shepard and goes to him, we need to continue to hear the voice of our Good Shepard and follow Him. Do not be lead astray by the temptations of world. Continue to trust in God and His Son Jesus Christ. He will not lead you wrong.
In Jesus Name
Amen

Thanks, Greg. I enjoy the way you explain things. I sure wish I could do a Bible study with you. I am reading the Bible in a year and so far I don't understand the true meaning of what I am reading. But I trust as I continue on, God will reveal some meaning to me. I am taking one night class now. When it is finished I'm going to try to find a local Bible study group.

This is so comforting to read!! I think I have come to realize that I must put God first. I MUST turn to him and "not lean on my own understanding". Thanks for this post.

Greg, I truly must say AMEN to everything you've said. I am so guilty of going to God as a last resort instead of the first stop. Thanks for the reminder, and I thank God for putting it on your heart to write this and for leading me to read it. Now I must act on it. Thanks again. Blessings to you, Glenda.
