Healthy Eating and SIBO

I have a condition called small intestinal bowel overgrowth or SIBO. What happens is the things sit in the large intestine longer than they should and ferment. Causing bad bacteria buildup. It causes things like IBS, gerd, and wealth of other things.

Even though I know this I still eat things that cause issues, because they taste yummy and make my mind feel good, but play havic on my belly.

Today is the day, I am going to take control and really look into what is best for my body.

The GI place I went to hasn't been very helpful in the nutrition guidance area.

2 steps back 8 steps forward - Rewording

I heard this in one of the sparks coach programs. I have gained 2 pounds back of 10 pounds lost. I really like rewording to 2 lbs gained, 8 lbs lost.

Rewording things in a positive way really makes a difference in how the brain handles the situation.

    Yes, I agree. For me, it was 2 lbs. gained, 7 lbs. lost. I like how that sounds a lot better, and it also helps me see that this is a big picture type of thing. In the end, it isn't going to be the 2 lbs. gain that I remember, but the overall loss that I have accomplished. It's such a good perspective. Thanks for sharing!

Better Breakfasts

I have been having oatmeal for breakfast with cinnamon and few pieces of walnut. Although I am initially full and like the hot meal, I found I was getting hungry pretty quickly.

I changed things up today and feeling a whole lot better and not hungry. Woo Hoo!!!!

I took my calories up to 300 by having the EAS soy protein shake and a Dark chocolate coconut granola bar. It was much more filling and lots more protein which I think is what has helped me.

Change is good. If it doesn't work, review and try something else!

Good Start on a Monday

10:50 so far so good. Listened to my Sparks Coach and will get my snack list on the fridge tonight. I know how many calories, how much protein and carbs. Will bag them up for the weekend tonight. I am feeling good about food today.

    good idea. i need to start doing things like that. I never know what i am going to eat from one meal to the next let alone snacks. i think i will start trying to make a monthly meal plan so i have stuff already set up, especially for those last minute cravings..

Starting the day off right

I am starting every day as a new day. I have seen such wonderful success stories and so inspired by them. However, my habits at this moment have got the best of me.

I am working on changing habits to healthy wholesome and fit. Quick fix this is not.
